TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 328I. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STATIONARY AT A DRIVE THRU, THE ENGINE OVERHEATED WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THE RED OVERHEATING WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE SEIZED. THE CONTACT STATED HE HAD TO MANUALLY PUSH THE VEHICLE OUT TO THE PARKING LOT WITH A BYSTANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE ADDED COOLANT FLUID AND AFTER 2 HOURS HE WAS ABLE RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED HE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE AN HOUR LATER. ADDITIONALLY, THE BATTERY ALSO FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED HE RECEIVED AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK WHILE OPENING THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE VIN WAS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V676000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V683000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER BMW OF RIVERSIDE (3060 ADAMS ST, RIVERSIDE, CA 92504, (951) 373-5000) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WERE COMPLETED. YOU SHUT OFF THE CAR, WAIT 10 SECONDS RESTART AND IT IS NORMAL UNTIL NEXT TIME YOU GIVE IT A LITTLE TO MUCH GAS, WHILE IN MOTION. CAR BURNS A QUART OF OIL ABOUT EVERY 3 THOUSAND MILES. HAPPENS DAILY.

AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE, SMOKE CONTINUED TO STREAM FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FOR MORE THAN THREE HOURS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT ANTIFREEZE LEAKED FROM A HOSE ATTACHED TO THE RADIATOR. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. ON NOVEMBER 19, 2017, I WAS TRAVELED FROM NYC TO LOWELL, MA. THE CAR EXPERIENCED OF EXCESSIVE VIBRATION AND RADDLING NOISE FROM RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. I INVESTIGATED THE RADDLING AND VIBRATION ISSUE FOUND THAT FRONT RIGHT ENGINE MOUNT BOLTS ALL THREE BOLTS SNAPPED WITHOUT WARNING. THE BOLTS FOUND TO BE AN ALUMINUM BOLTS. I BELIEVE THIS BOLTS SHOULD NOT BE AN ALUMINUM, BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF FORCE IN THIS LOCATION. I BELIEVE AN ENGINE MOUNTS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED WITH ALUMINUM. I COULD OF GETTING KILL IF NOT KNOWING TO LOOK FOR AND THE CAR COULD CRUSH SINCE ONE SIDE OF THE ENGINE BOLTS SNAPPED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.
VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE RAMP TO ENTER A HIGHWAY AND SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME UP. THE ENGINE HAS ONLY 42000 MILES. TOOK IT TO BMW AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VANOS SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE BOLTS PROBABLY CAME OFF. A RECALL IS IN PLACE FOR EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE FOR OTHER 3 SERIES, BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND BMW IS NOT COVERING THE REPAIR. WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR A VEHICLE TO BE INCLUDED ON A RECALL GIVEN THAT IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE?
MY CAR OVERHEAT WHENEVER I TURN ON THE HEATER IN THE CAR. THE CAR DOES NOT OVERHEAT WHEN THE HEAT IS TURNED OFF.

ENGINE OIL LEAK.( GASKET, VALVE) THE DEALER STATES CAR IS LEAKING ENGINE OIL FROM ALL TYPE OF GASKETS AND ASKING $2800 FOR FIX(ACTUALLY REPLACEMENT). THIS CAR WAS WELL MAINTAINED AND SERVICED.ALSO, OWNER NEVER TOUCH BENEATH ENGINE. BMW SHOULD FIX OR RECALL THIS. THE LEAK MIGHT CREATE FIRE AS PER BMW DEALER AND CERTIFIED SERVICE CENTER.
ENGINE OIL GASKET, VALVE LEAK. ITS ENGINE PART AND CUSTOMER WONT TOUCH AT ALL. BMW SHOULD RECALL THIS. BMW DEALER QUOTES $2.7K FOR THE FIX(ACTUALLY ITS REPLACEMENT OF GASKET AND SEAL)
THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN BRAKING OR ACCELERATING MODERATELY HARD, WHICH IN TURN SHUTS DOWN POWER STEERING AND PROBABLY THE POWER BRAKES!!! THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES. FOR EACH OF THESE EVENTS, I WAS DRIVING THE CAR NORMALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR AN EXTENDED TIME, PROBABLY LONGER THAN TWO HOURS. IN ONE INCIDENT ON APRIL 12, 2017, THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WHEN I QUICKLY ACCELERATED TO ALLOW FOR SAFE TRAFFIC FLOW INVOLVING A TRACTOR TRAILER. ANOTHER INCIDENT ON SAME DAY INVOLVED MODERATELY HARD BRAKING AS I APPROACHED STALLED TRAFFIC ON THE TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE. I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE AND THE ROAD DID NOT HAVE A SHOULDER. THIS CREATED A SERIOUS HAZARD WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC. A THIRD INCIDENT ON THE SAME DAY OCCURRED DURING MODERATELY HARD BRAKING AS I APPROACHED A TOLL BOOTH. LOSS OF POWER STEERING (AND PROBABLY POWER BRAKES) CREATED A SERIOUS HAZARD. A FOURTH INCIDENT OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 18 MONTHS EARLIER WHEN I BRAKED MODERATELY HARD WHILE EXITING FOR A REST STOP. LOSS OF POWER STEERING (AND PROBABLY POWER BRAKES) CREATED A SERIOUS HAZARD. IN THE RECENT THREE EVENTS, THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT TURNED ON. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART IMMEDIATELY. AFTER LESS THAN A MINUTE, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED, DROVE NORMALLY, AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT TURNED OFF. IN THE EVENT WITH ACCELERATION, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART EASILY FOR 15-30 MINUTES; EVENTUALLY IT RESTARTED AND DROVE NORMALLY. DURING THE 15-30 MINUTES, THE ENGINE SPUTTERED, BUCKED, AND SHUT DOWN REPEATEDLY. I REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO THE BMW DEALER AFTER THE FIRST EVENT AND THEY SAID THE ONLY POTENTIAL CAUSE WAS WATER PUMP SPEED DEVIATION. I REPLACED WATER PUMP IN MAY 2016 AS THEY RECOMMENDED.

I HAVE HAD A MAJOR FIRE ON MY CAR DUE TO AN OIL LEAK COMING FROM MY VALVE COVER.
