The contact owns a 2009 BMW 335I. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V017000 (AIR BAGS); however, shortly after the vehicle was retrieved, the air bag warning light illuminated and remained illuminated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 102,000.

AIRBAG SYSTEM FAULT DUE TO OCCUPANCY SEAT SENSOR P/N 65779153119. THIS SENSOR IS USED ON BMW E90, E91, E92, E93 MODELS FROM 2006-2012. BMW RECALLED ONLY 2006 AND 2007 MODELS IN 2014( RECALL NOTICE 17V428) THEN REVISED IN 2017 TO INCLUDE MORE VEHICLES. IN ADDITION, THEY ISSUED A SB -10056703-9690 IN 2017 TO EXTEND WARRANTY TO 15 YEARS FOR THIS SENSOR. SINCE THE EXACT SENSOR IS FITTED ON VEHICLES FROM 2006-2012, AND NUMEROUS INDIVIDUALS HAVE REPORTED THE FAULT, I BELIEVE MY E93 SHOULD BE COVERED IN THE RECALL OR THE 15 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY. BASED ON RESEARCH, MANY PEOPLE HAVE RESORTED TO A BYPASS DEVICE. THIS EXTINGUISHES THE FAULT BUT PRESENTS AN ISSUE IF THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER IS AN INFANT/ OR UNDER 40 POUNDS. AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT AND DEATH/ SERIOUS INJURY IS POSSIBLE.
TAKATA RECALL FAULTY AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT DURING MINOR ACCIDENT CAUSING NO DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. IMPACT OCCURED FROM FRONT OF VEHICLE AND AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AFTER VEHICLE WAS AT COMPLETE STOP AFTER ACCIDENT CAUSING NOSE DAMAGE AND BURN AND BRUISE ON LEFT ARM. IRREGULAR DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAGS BECAUSE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AS WELL AS THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DEPLOYED. NO ONE WAS SEATED ON PASSENGER SIDE AND THE DRIVER SIDE VEHICLE SIDE AIRBAG WHERE I WAS SEATED DID NOT DEPLOY.
TAKATA RECALL; BOUGHT CAR ONLINE FROM SCHMBURG IL. BMW AND THE BMW WAS DELIVERED TO MY HOME ADDRESS IN SAN ANTONIO,TEXAS. CALLED SCHMBURG BMW AND THEY TOLD TO CALL SAN ANTONIO BMW. I DID CALL SAN ANTONIO BMW IN 2-2-2017. HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING FROM THEM AND IT'S 5/7/2018---HELP!!!
AIR BAG SENSOR STILL ON AS FAULTY. BMW HAS STATED ITS THE SENSOR ASSOCIATED WITH THE THE EVENT OF ROLL OVER. PRIVATE COMPANY CERTIFIED TO SERVICE BMWS STATES ITS THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. MY BMW'S COMPUTER ALSO STATES ITS THE PASSENGER AIR BAG.
AIR BAG LIGHT HAS CAME ON, WHEN I WAS BACKING UP, I HIT A GARBAGE CAN. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BUT NO AIR BAG DEPLOYED
TAKATA RECALL IN LATE SEPTEMBER I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE A ROUGHLY 3 WEEK WAIT FOR PARTS. CALLED AGAIN THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE 4-6 WEEK WAIT. I'M STILL GETTING THE RUN AROUND BY BMW OF DALLAS AND BELIEVE THEY MAY BE ONLY HELPING SELECT PEOPLE.

THAT WAS LAST SEPTEMBER. IT IS NOW ALMOST 1 YEAR FROM MY NOTICE & BMW HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING. I HAVE ALSO EMAILED THE CUST SERV. FOR BMW WITH NO RESPONSE.

WHEN THE RECALL FIRST HAPPENED I WAS VERY PREGNANT AND I CALLED BMW TELLING THEM I WAS CONCERNED. THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD BE FIXED BY 9/16 AND I AM STILL WAITING AND MY BABY WILL TURN 1 ON JULY 1,2017. WHEN WILL MY AIR BAGS BE FIXED? THIS IS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS MATTER.
