I WENT TO UNLOCK MY BMW 750 LI DRIVER DOOR AND GET IN BUT ONCE I CLOSED IT WOULD NOT LOCK CLOSE AT ALL, NOTHING I DID WORKED. EVENTUALLY HAD TO TAKE MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL HOLDING THE DRIVER DOOR WITH ONE HAND WHILE DRIVING WITH THE OTHER. NOT SAFE AT ALL. I HAVE THE SOFT CLOSE FEATURE ON MY CAR, SO I NOTICED IT WAS NOT LATCHING ON AFTER A LITTLE DETECTIVE WORK. SO NOT ONLY DOES MY DRIVER DOOR NOT SHUT, BUT I CAN'T EVEN UNLOCK OR LOCK MY DOORS BY EITHER USING THE KEY REMOTE OR THE UNLOCK/LOCK BUTTON INSIDE. VERY DANGEROUS, AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE IS NOT BACKUP FOR THE DOORS IF THE SOFT CLOSE FEATURE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH THE SOFT CLOSE DOORS, ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR I HAVE ISSUES WITH AS WELL. I HAVE TO HOLD THE HANDLE OUT AND CLOSE FOR THE SOFT CLOSE FEATURE TO "CATCH" THE DOOR. VERY UNSAFE AND REQUIRES A RECALL. *TR UPDAATE COMP CODE TO LOATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES.*PCO
WHILE DRIVING MY GRAND DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL, MY DRIVER'S SIDE LOCK UNLATCHED. BECAUSE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MORNING TRAFFIC, I HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED WHILE I WAS DRIVING UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND CALL BMW TO PICK UP THE CAR. *TR
I OWN A 2006 BMW 750LI. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR SEVERAL WEEKS AGO. MY DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT. YESTERDAY, I WAS AT THE GROCERY STORE, WENT BACK TO MY CAR, USED THE REMOTE AND THE DOOR OPENED. GOT INTO MY CAR AND MY DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT. I TRIED TO USE THE AUTOMATIC LOCK AND IT DID NOT WORK. I USED THE KEY ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND WAITED UNTIL I HEARD IT CATCH, THIS REENGAGED MY LOCK SO I WAS ABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR. *TR UPDATE COMP CODE TO LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. *PCO
I HAVE A BMW 2006 750 AND I AM HAVING LATCH ISSUES, THE DOOR DOES NOT LATCH. *TR
A MAJOR BMW SAFETY CONCERN. ON A 2006 BMW 750 LI, RANDOMLY, THE DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. NOTHING HOLDS THE DOOR CLOSED AND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE DOOR SWINGS OPEN AND HAS TO BE HELD CLOSE BY THE DRIVER'S HAND. WHEN THE DOOR WON'T LATCH THE KEY FOB AND THE INTERIOR ELECTRIC LOCK BUTTONS DO NOT WORK. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THE FACTORY IGNORES STATING THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND ANY REPAIR MUST BE PAID FOR BY THE OWNER. ELECTRONIC DOOR LATCHES MUST BE DESIGNED TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR. RANDOMLY THE DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT LATCH AND REPEATEDLY CLOSING THE DOOR HAS NO APPARENT EFFECT. LEAVING THE CAR IN A LOT WHEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT LATCH LEAVES THE CONTENTS UNSECURED. TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND NOTICING THE DRIVER'S DOOR IS NOT LATCHED IS VERY SCARY AND I'M AFRAID IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT DEATH COULD BE A DIRECT RESULT. *TR UPDATE COMP CODE TO LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. *PCO
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 60 MPH WHEN THE DOORS UNLOCKED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE COMFORT TOUCH LOCKING MECHANISM ON ALL FOUR DOORS BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN TRYING TO CLOSE HER RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR SHE WAS UNABLE TO SHUT IT PROPERLY WHEN THE AIR WAS VERY MOIST. WHEN THE DOOR CLOSED IT OPENED BACK UP ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO ADVISED HER THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE OR DUPLICATE IT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
