CENTER CONSOLE LIGHTS STARTED TURNING OFF AND ON AROUND CHRISTMAS TIME 2018, ACCOMPANIED BY A LOUD POPPING SOUND FROM SPEAKERS. THEN THE RADIO STARTED TURNING OFF AND ON CONSTANTLY ACCOMPANIED BY THE SAME LOUD POPPING SOUND. BLINKERS SOMETIMES TRIGGER RADIO PROBLEM AND THEY DO NOT ALWAYS WORK PROPERLY. RADIO CONSOLE FINALLY BLEW OUT PERMANENTLY IN JAN 2019, UNABLE TO LISTEN TO MUSIC, AND AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. CONTACTED BOTH GM AND CHEVY DEALERSHIP IN PAWLEY'S ISLAND; TOLD ME NO RECALLS, WOULD HAVE TO BRING IN FOR ANALYSIS; HOWEVER INDICATED THAT IT WOULD COST AROUND $1,000. HOW WOULD THEY KNOW THE COST UNLESS THEY KNOW THE PROBLEM? I ALSO HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE.

THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
THE RADIO IS MAKING A LOUD POPPING NOISE AND BLACK OUT THE AIR GOES OUT WITH IT IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING HIT THE CAR AND THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE LIGHTS FLICKER ON THE CLIMATE CONTROL PANEL.
THE CAR IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND HAS LESS THAN 25K MI ON IT, THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM, SUCH AS NHTSA COMPLAINTS, YOUTUBE VIDEOS AND FORUMS IN WHICH PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME EXACT COMPLAINT, AMONG MULTIPLE YEARS AND MODELS OF CHEVROLET CAMARO'S. THE RADIO NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THE ISSUE AFFECTS MULTIPLE THINGS INCLUDING SAFETY. HOWEVER AT THIS POINT WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS GM HAS NOT PERFORMED A RECALL AND IS STATING THAT THEY WILL NOT COVER THIS UNDER A KNOWN MANUFACTURER DESIGN FLAW. THE SAFETY CONCERNS ARE THAT THE RADIO WILL FLICKER ON AND OFF, COME ON AND OFF DISABLING THE ABILITY TO CONTROL IT, WHILE MAKING VERY LOUD CRACKLING AND POPPING SOUNDS AT EXCESSIVE VOLUME, FLASHES ON AND OFF MAKING NIGHT DRIVING A HAZARD. WHILE THIS ISSUE HAPPENS IT ALSO DISABLES THE NAVIGATION, THE ONSTAR, THE HEAT/AC FAN CONTROLS AS WELL AS VOLUME CONTROLS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS OF FOLKS WITH THIS PROBLEM. AND AS SUCH, I HAVE ALSO RECORDED THE ISSUE WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING AND READ A MYRIAD OF REVIEWS, COMPLAINTS AND WATCHED VIDEOS. I BELIEVE THAT GM AND CHEVROLET NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. MY CAR IS EXTREMELY WELL MAINTAINED AND HAS VERY LOW MILEAGE FOR ITS AGE. WHEN THE COMPANY KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HEARS FROM CONSUMERS AND YET DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT, IS LUDICROUS. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD BE PERFORMING A RECALL AS THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW IN WHICH CAN COST UP TO AT LEAST 1000K TO GET REPAIRED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TURN SIGNALS FAILED TO CHIME, THE FACE PLATE FUNCTIONS SHORTED AND DISPLAYED A BLANK SCREEN, AND THE RADIO SHUT OFF NUMEROUS TIMES. AMERICAN CHEVROLET (4742 MCHENRY AVE, MODESTO, CA 95356, (209) 575-1606) PERFORMED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE AND CHASE CHEVROLET (6441 HOLMAN RD, STOCKTON, CA 95212, (209) 475-6600) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. CHASE CHEVROLET STATED THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THE 2011 TO MID 2015 MODELS DUE TO REPLACING THE SAME OEM RADIO. CHASE CHEVROLET DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND TWO FAULT CODES. THE DEALER UPDATED THE SOFTWARE AND INDICATED THAT THE RADIO AND FACE PLATE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED ELECTRONICALLY. IF THE CONTACT ENTERED THE VEHICLE TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO, IT WOULD SHUT OFF IN LESS THAN FIFTEEN MINUTES, INCLUDING OTHER ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES SEVERAL TIMES AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON A RESPONSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
WHEN DRIVING ON A SIDE ROAD THE VEHICLE WAS GOING ABOUT 35-38 MPH STRAIGHT WHEN A VEHICLE FAILED TO YIELD FROM STOP SIGN ON RIGHT HAND SIDE ROAD. HE MADE A LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF ME GOING FAST DUE TO A VEHICLE BLOCKING HIS SIGHT OF VIEW. I PRECEDED TO SLAM ON BRAKES TO AVOID A T-BONE COLLISION. THE CAR CAME TO A STOP MY KNEE HIT THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE VEHICLE CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET LIGHTS AND ALL. I THEN HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK IN ORDER TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN.
RADIO/AC CONTROLS INTERMITTENTLY TURN ON AND OFF. THIS OCCURS WHEN VEHICLE IS BOTH STATIONARY AND MOVING. NOTICED FIRST OCCURRENCE ON 12/22/2018, AS I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. HAS CONTINUED WITH THIS ISSUE SINCE FIRST OCCURRENCE.

SIR WALTER CHEVROLET (8501 GLENWOOD AVE, RALEIGH, NC 27612, (919) 787-3700) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
RADIO PLAYS THEN MAKES A LOUD POP. ALSO BLINKS REPEATEDLY. USING BLINKERS OR BRAKES AT TIMES WILL CAUSE RADIO TO POP LOUDLY THEN GO OFF COMPLETELY. RADIO WILL NOT COME BACK ON UNLESS YOU STOP AND TURN OFF IGNITION AND RESTART. RADIO MAY WORK FOR 30 SECONDS OR 30 MINUTES. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU USEBLINKER THE SOUND WILL COME THROUGH THE RADIO LOUDLY AND WILL NOT STOP UNLESS YOU TURN THE CAR OFF. I CANNOT TURN RADIO OFF WHEN ANY OF THIS IS HAPPENING. ON VARIOUS FORUMS I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS FROM MANY USERS OF THIS SAME THING HAPPENING TO THEIR CAMEROS. THERE ARE YOUTUBE VIDEOS SHOWING SUPPOSED FIXES SO THIS PROBLEM HAS AFFECTED MANY. A RADIO SHOULD LAST. I'VE SEEN REPORTS OF REPLACING RADIO WITH FACTORY PARTS AND IT HAPPEN I G AGAIN. I SAY THIS IS ELECTRICAL BECAUSE RADIO ACTING UP IS AFFECTING OTHER PARTS OF THE CAR, BLINKERS, BRAKES ETC. THIS ALL WILL HAPPEN IF CAR IS BEING DRIVEN OR STILL. IT HAPPENS EVERY SINGLE TIME I USE MY CAR. THIS STARTED AROUND JUNE 2018

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RICK HENDRICK CITY CHEVROLET (980-242-5621, LOCATED AT 5101 E INDEPENDENCE BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28212) WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE NEW KEY NEEDED TO BE ADJUSTED. THE TECHNICIAN SPRAYED THE KEY AND THE IGNITION WITH A LUBRICANT, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ESCALATED THE FAILURE TO A SENIOR OFFICIAL. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 21,000.
THIS PROBLEM I AM HAVING SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR, DURING WINTERS THE HEATER WONT TURN ON, THE ONLY WAY TO START IT IS PUT THE BLOWER ON WINDSCREEN AND TURN UP THE BLOWER TO MAX THAN IT WILL START. I COMPLAINED IT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY DIDNT FIND ANYTHING, I MADE A VIDEO JUST FOR RECORD TOO. ALSO IT MAKES TICK TICK SOUND SPECIALLY IN MORNING WHEN YOU PRESS BRAKES.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE KEY HAD TO BE TURNED TO THE START POSITION AND BACK TO THE OFF POSITION BEFORE IT EVENTUALLY CAME OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000.
PROBLEMS SEEM TO BE WITH 2013 AND 2014 CAMAROS. THE RADIO SYSTEM SHORTS AFTER 20000 MILES. MULTIPLE CONSUMERS COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS SYSTEM AS IT IS A 2000 DOLLAR OR MORE REPAIR WITH THE DEALERSHIPS
WHILE OPERATING THE STEREO IT MAKES A POPPING SOUND AND TURNS OFF AND BACK ON. WHEN IT COMES BACK ON THERE IS NO SOUND COMING THROUGH THE SPEAKERS BUT THE HEAD UNIT IS STILL ON. TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON RESTORES THE SOUND BUT IT JUST GOES BACK OUT. I SEE THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND ALL THE DEALERSHIPS SAY IF TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEAD UNIT.
WHEN I SHIFT FROM DRIVE OR ANY OTHER POSITION AT LEAST 50% OF THE TIME WHEN I SHIFT TO PARK I AM NOT ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE STEARING WHEEL COLUMN LOCK. MOST OF THE TIME IF I TURN THE KEY TO ON TAKE THE SHIFFER OUT OF PARK AN PUT IT BACK IN PARK IT MAY ALLOW ME TO REMOVE THE KEY. THERE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE KEY OUT. SO FAR WHEN I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE KEY OUT IT HAS BEEN AT HOME. MY BIG CONCERN IS THAT I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE KEY OUT WHEN I AM AWAY FROM THE HOUSE. VERY EASY TO STEAL A CAR WITH A KEY IN THE LOCK. THE CAR IS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENS.

AN UNKNOWN CHEVROLET DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

ON OCCASION, THE DISPLAY SCREEN WOULD FLASH OFF AND ON AND A HIGH PITCH NOISE WOULD BE HEARD INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DISPLAY SCREEN WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
MY CHEVY CAMARO HAS A SAFETY RECALL ON THE KEY FOB IGNITION SYSTEM. THE KEY WAS FOUND FAULTY AND WOULD TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. CHEVY'S SOLUTION WAS TO REMOVE THE SWITCHBLADE KEY FOB AND GIVE ME AN ORDINARY KEY. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE PADDLE SHIFTER ON THE STEERING WHEEL STILL COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE KEY WHILE TURNING, THEREFORE TURNING OFF THE IGNITION. WHILE TURNING OFF THE KEY, IT ALSO BREAKS THE KEY IN HALF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO BE 3 TIMES NOW WHILE DRIVING. 2 OF THE TIMES ALMOST RESULTING IN COLLISION. I AM HONESTLY SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN USING THE KEYLESS-ENTRY FOB IN THE IGNITION, THERE WAS HESITATION WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE IGNITION WOULD BECOME RESISTANT TO TURNING FROM THE ON POSITION. THE FAILURE WAS SPORADIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,119.

IN ADDITION, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED WITH BLACK SMOKE. THERE WERE NO FLAMES PRESENT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING BUT WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V346000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,800.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO UNSATISFACTORY IGNITION SWITCH REPAIR WORK DONE AT DEALERSHIP. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATE HIS KNEE NEVER HIT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH, UNTIL AFTER THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED. THE CONSUMER STATED HIS KNEE PINCHED THE RKE TRANSMITTER AGAINST THE KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH EVERY TIME HE MOVED HIS FOOT TO BRAKE PEDAL. *JB

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO AN ANIMAL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE ABOUT THE PARTS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PLACE THE GEAR IN THE PARK POSITION TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 800.
