PE-00-020- ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON A 1998 CHEVROLET, MALIBU. TIRES ARE 14 INCHES. TWO SETS OF TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED, AT 10 THOUSANDS MILES ONE OF THE FOUR TIRES WENT FLATE OTHER THREE TIRES HAD DEVELOPED CRACKS BETWEEN THE TREAD, SECOND SET OF TIRES WAS REPLACED DUE TO BAD VEHICLE CONTROL. *AK THE CRACKED TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH NEW AFFINITY TIRES WHICH PREMATURELY FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH COOPER COBRA. THE CUSTOMER PAID FOR BOTH NEW TIRES. THE CUSTOMER IS WANTS FIRESTONE TO REIMBURSE THE COST SINCE THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE. *YH
WHILE BEING TOWED A TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT CAUSING THE BELT OF THE TIRE TO WRAP AROUND THE INNER WHEEL SUPPORT AND HAD TO BE CUT TO REMOVE THE TIRE, TIRES HAVE BEEN REBALANCED TWICE, TRUED AT LEAST TWO TIME AND THE VEHICLE STILL RIDE HARD AND NOISY (FIRESTONE AFFINITY 215/60R). NLM
VEHICLE PARKED. TIRE PICKED UP TACK. NOTICED CRACKS JUST BELOW THE TREAD. WAS JAGGED ALONG 3/4 OF LEFT REAR TIRE. CHECKED OTHER TIRES & CRACKS ON THEM, BUT NOT AS BAD. ALL FOUR TIRES HAD NUMEROUS CRACKS. TOOK TO FIRESTONE RETAILER & WAS INFORMED WILL BE LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM. DEALER WILL NOT MECHANIC TOUCH TIRE. 1998 CHEVROLET MALIBU. HAD TAKEN VEHICLE IN FOR INSPECTION OF THE TIRES AFTER HEARING ABOUT PROBLEM ON NEWS. MECHANIC INDICATED THAT THE TIRES HAD CRACKS IN AND BETWEEN THE TREADS. WILL NOT EXCHANGE THE TIRES. FIRESTONE AFFINITY WITH 27,000 MILES. SIZE WAS 215/60R15. *AK CONSUMER HAS SINCE REPLACED THE TIRES. *SLC

COMPLETE TIRE # P215/60R15 93T MT5 , TPC SPEC1139M6, #027487. TIRE SEPERATED/PEELED OFF FROM RIGHT REAR RIM AS I WAS DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT APP 65MPH. I REPLACED THIS TIRE WITH THE SAME BRAND & SIZE & AM CONCERNED BECAUSE OF WHAT OCCURRED ON MY CAR AS WELL AS THE PROBLEM THAT FIRESTONE IS PRESENTLY EXPERIENCING.
