In Michigan- stopped for lunch - used remote start as always when it’s cold. Came out and got back on the road and about ten minutes later a loud bang and the back window shattered. A quick google said it’s a known problem on this model with the power sliding window due to the rear defrost and there’s a recall for Canada and 10 us states but Illinois isn’t covered. Hard to understand when it’s the same part number. GM customer service rep also stated they won’t cover it when we called the corporate office. If we’d been alerted we would’ve disabled the rear defrost long ago. Frightening to know it’s a fire hazard and what if we’d had children in the back.
First off the truck my father and I purchased was a brand new LT 1500 model with v6 engine and 4 wheel drive from Bill Defouw Chevrolet Lafayette, IN In 2020 I contacted the sheriff's department because the vehicle we had purchased had been stolen and switched out with another truck that had a non matching stamped vin on the frame underneath and nothing else matched with photos of proof did not match either. I gave the photos to the authorities to observe and they handed them back to me and laughed at me. The truck that was left with me that the thieves tried to make me believe was my truck was a salvage flood vehicle with the strong smell of mold and mildew and tires that didn't match and other areas on the truck that did not match our brand new truck we purchased that had never been altered except for adding a bed liner. I have tons of photos showing the unmatched stamped vin and photos throughout the years of ownership that I've been trying to get help with before someone gets hurt. When they wouldn't help me and continuously told me it was my truck in my possession even though I showed the proof I literally was brainwashed into believing what they were saying and I traded the truck in. When I finally realized that my gut instinct and proof was enough I contacted the dealership and took photos in where we purchased the truck to show them the differences and they agreed with me and told me to contact the police again. So I did and got the same results. Therefore there are two trucks out there possibly more that have been vin swapped and vehicle swapped from victims driveways, or work, or garage etc. I can submit my photos of proof immediately. They got my other vehicles too including my motorcycle I never got to ride because I noticed it a couple days after purchase. This crime is heavy and victims don't even know it's happened due to cloning.
Vehicle stabilitrak light comes on and engine dies. Headlights flicker and completely cut off at night. When starting vehicle the dash says to roll the driver window down and then up to continue. Tonight August 12th 2025, the air quit completely and headlights cut off. Engine dies while in gear. When I put truck in reverse engine will die. Sometimes turning the wheel will cause the engine to cut off or lights to go out. I have taken to the dealership multiple times for this issue and it has yet to be resolved. This has been going on for around 7-8 months. I bought the truck in December and it’s been in the shop 4 times now.

no accidents, i just recently found out my vehicle is on recall
Transmission is not shifting properly, shakes whole truck, steering wheel. GM has many open recalls for the same issue in the same vehicles that has my transmission in them.
My radio changes channels on its own. It disconnects my Bluetooth connection for no reason. The display screen changes from one option to another randomly. This has been happening for over a year now. My research on the internet shows many customers had their radios replaced. Soon thereafter the issue starts all over again.
My 2015 Silverado frame has rusted through badly. It's available for inspection. I currently have 74,000 miles on it. My GM dealer said the rust is so bad that I shouldn't pull anything and if I had an accident the frame would fold like an accordion. It is unsafe to drive. If the frame were to break when I'm driving, it could cause an accident with someone else. No one else has inspected it. I purchased it December 2014. I noticed a rust problem soon after. I took it to my GM dealer, and they said there is a bulletin No. P10564K, to fix it. I also attached the service invoice. The fix didn't last a year and I was back at the dealer. They did it again and for several years, until they couldn't because of lack of workers, due to covid. They said they would call when available, but never did. I took it in for service last month and that's when the dealer said I needed a new frame because it had rusted through, and it was rusted bad elsewhere. There is actually a hole rusted through. I've attached photos. The dealer said he has never seen it so bad in my year truck. I contacted GM and they said it was due to road salt and not covered. I've owned around eight GM trucks and cars, and I've never had a problem like this to a frame. There are many complaints about this online. One person said "The Chevy Silverado frame recall was issued due to the frame missing an anti-rust component in the metal that should have been included when the vehicle was made. The frames on them are known to rust excessively and can cause damage to the other components and make the frames weaker." I think GM should be forced to issue a recall on these frames. I can't afford to buy another truck and it's the only vehicle I have. Thank you.
I was about 1.5 miles from my house with the rear defrost on, when I heard a pop. I then noticed the driver side rear window was shattered. Not the middle or passenger side, just the driver side. I did a ton of research and noticed that 2014 through 2019 Canadian Chevrolet Silverado’s have been recalled but none in the US.
Service Trailer Brake System constantly turns on. I have never used the Trailer System, My concern is that while driving it will light up and causing an accident because i might take my eyes off the road. What I also notice is Radio (USB) stop working and motor takes time to start.
2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO PARTS BEING UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT HONOR THE APPOINTMENT TIME. THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP PAST THE APPOINMENT TIME THEREFORE,THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT TREAT THE SAFETY RECALL AS A PRIORITY.
UNKNOWN issue. For this vehicle at speeds in excess of 60 MPH the truck begins to shake. The shaking increases in violence as speed increases. This issue can be replicated without fault by a dealership or other auto-shop whenever necessary. The issue has not been specifically looked at by a dealership. There are currently no warning lights or indications. Mileage when started is 10400 +/- 50 mi.
The service Trailer Brake System has a defective wiring harness.
Upper right hand corner of display screen can be unresponsive or, more frequently, select items on its own. It will select different radio stations, rearrange apps, and call or put calls on hold. Steering wheel display changes to radio tab on its own. This puts my safety at risk because I have to fight with the radio to keep it on a single station and take my eyes off the road to constantly take phone calls off hold. Problem occurred in presence of dealer mechanic and I have videos of the problem. I have taken this to the dealer and they were unable to solve the problem. No warning lamps to indicate anything wrong or preceded the incident. The problem began in July 2021.
AC BLOWS OUT WARM WAS TOLD THE EVAPORATOR LEAKS FROM THE FACTORY.
AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING. THERE WAS NO SUPPORT BRACKET ON THE HOSE AND IT CAUSED IT TO CRACK. REPLACED AND THEN CONDENSER WENT OUT. KNOWN COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE TRUCKS TO WHERE ALL THE PARTS ARE BACK ORDERED.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 4 WINDSHIELDS FROM CRACKS BEGINNING ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT (PASSENGER) SIDE OF VEHICLE.
SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT BULLETIN 17336 FOR AC CONDENSER. CONDENSER LEAKS AND BREAKS. REPLACEMENT REQUIRED BUT REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT SUB PAR AND ALSO PRON FOR FAILURE. CHEVROLET WILL NOT COVER COST OF REPLACEMENT OF CONDENSER STATING THAT THE VEHICLE WITH 85,000 MILES IS NOT COVERED. THIS IS A NATION WIDE ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A TOTAL OF 15 RECALLS ON IT. I AM REQUESTING ASSISTANCE WITH THE COST OF THE REPAIR. DUE TO MY ALLERGIES AND THIS TIME OF THE YEAR DRIVING WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN AND NO AC IS AFFECTING MY PHYSICALLY. THE CUSTOMER CARE CENTER FOR CHEVORLET IS GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND AND HAVE BEEN AVOIDING MY CLAIM SINCE 3/03/2020. TODAY IS 3/11/2020. THUS FAR THEY HAVE OFFERED TO COVER ONLY $215 OF $879+TAX REPAIR THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF IS A NATION WIDE ISSUE. PLEASE HELP.
HAVING GROUNDING ISSUES WITH VEHICLE. WHOLE DASH GOES BLANK. HAS STALLED ON HIGHWAY SEVERAL TIMES. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER THEY STATED THAT I HAD TO PAY $800 AND TO INSTALL IT IT COST ME $1100 AND THEN $256 TO GO UNDERNEATH THE DASH AND TIGHTEN A BOLT I HAVE RESEARCH THIS ON YOUTUBE AND IT LOOKS AS THOUGH FROM THE 2014 TO 2020 IT'S AN ISSUE TO ALL TRUCKS. JUST PURCHASED THIS AND MAY 2020. ON DASHBOARD THE ALTERNATOR INDICATOR SHOWS BELOW 14 VOLTS. AND DURING ONE OF THE STOLLINGS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE WHOLE FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE SCARED TO DEATH. I THINK THIS IS A GREAT ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED THAT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FIX LESS THAN SIX MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING A VEHICLE. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN THE ST. LOUIS AREA
THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER LEAKS AT ONE OF THE SIDE WELDS. THIS CAUSES LOSS OF AIR CONDITIONING BUT ALSO THE DEFROSTER FUNCTION SO THE INTERIOR WINDOWS FOG OVER AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE (GM CHANGED THE CONDENSER DESIGN IN LATER YEARS BUT DID NOT ISSUE A TSB). THE COST TO HAVE THIS CORRECTED IS ANYWHERE FROM $880-$1200 DOLLARS DEPENDING ON THE DEALER. IT IS ALSO SUCH A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM THAT THE REPLACEMENT OEM CONDENSER IS ON BACKORDER FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.
AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED COOLING OVER THE COURSE OF JUST A FEW DAYS, TO THE POINT OF ZERO COOLING. REFILLED REFRIGERANT, WORKED FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS, THEN STOPPED AGAIN. HAPPENED DURING ALL PHASES OF DRIVING, WHETHER MOVING OR STOPPED.
THE AC COMPRESSOR AND CONDENSER PROBLEMS. THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING IN AUGUST 2019, TO IT TO THE SHOP AND THE RECHARGED THE UNIT. THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR A FEW DAYS LATER. TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO GET LOOKED AT AGAIN, WAS WAITING FOR A RECALL NOTICE AND THE AIR CONDENSER IS BROKEN. THERE WAS A LAWSUIT FOR THIS SAME ISSUE FOR MY YEAR OF TRUCK AND THEY ARE SAYING IM NOT IN THE GROUP. IT IS GOING TO COST ALMOST $2000 TO REPAIR. *TR

A/C COMPRESSOR LOCKED UP WHILE ACCELERATING WHEN DRIVING ON FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 75 MPH. I KNOW YOU MAY NOT CONSIDER AC A SAFETY FACTOR, BUT WHEN IT'S 110 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND YOUR SITTING ON LEATHER SEATS, HOW COULD THAT NOT BE A SAFETY CONCERN?
THERE IS A FAULTY AC CONDENSER COMPONENT THAT LEAKS. THIS CAUSES ALL THE FREON TO BE SPILLED OUT AND MAKE THE AC BLOW HOT AIR.
