WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES PEDAL GETS STIFF, AND RIGHT WHEEL OR THE LEFT WHEEL WILL LOCK UP, AND VEHICLE WILL SLIDE, ESPECIALLY IN WET ROAD CONDITIONS. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. *AK
WHENEVER ON DRY PAVEMENT, TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, PEDAL STIFFENS AND THE ABS KICKS IN, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CONTINUE ROLLING. THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS TO BE REAPPLIED IN ORDER TO STOP. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN VEHICLE. *AK

WHENEVER ABS BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THE PEDAL FELT REAL MUSHY & PULLED RIGHT OR LEFT. WOULD EXPERIENCE EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. BEEN TO DEALER & WAS INFORMED BRAKES BEING MUSHY ,COMMON PROBLEM. EA 95-026; WHEN TRAVELING ON WET OR DRY PAVEMENT AND UPON MAKING A GRAUDAL STOP THE ABS BRAKE KICKED IN, PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE, AND RESULTING IN A NEAR ACCIDENTS. ALSO, ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON DASH. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

WHILE TRAVELING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS AND APPLYING BRAKES, UPON MAKING A GRADUAL STOP, VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND SLID. CONSUMER HAS YET TO CONTACT DEALER, PARTS HAVE YET TO BE REPLACED. *AK

THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SENSOR HAS BEEN INOPERATIVE SINE 12/97 AND HAS BEEN INSPECTED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE REPLACEMENT PART AND RELAY WILL COST APROX. $700 SO I HAVE NOT REPLACED IT. THE ABS WARNING LIGHT IN THE DASH PANEL IS ALWAYS ON. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THE ABS SYSTEM WILL REALLY WORK IN A SUDDEN STOP. I AM TRYING TO GET THIS VEHICLE APPROVED FOR COVERAGE UNDER THE "SPECIAL POLICY" RECALL JUST ANNOUNCED BY GM BUT THIS DOES NOT YET COVER SUBURBANS AS THEY HAVE AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION. *AK
ABS FAULTY CAUSING ROTORS TO FAIL DUE TO LOCK UP, REPLACEMENT FAILED ALSO RESULTING IN LOCKING UP OF ROTORS. MJS
IN AUGUST, 1995 CONSUMER BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE BRAKE FAILURE. VEHICLE WOULD PULL LEFT OR RIGHT, OR IF THERE WAS A HARD STOP IT WOULD RESULT IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALERSHIP CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM , AND SUGGESTED THAT CONSUMER TAKE VEHICLE SOME WHERE ELSE. ALSO, CONSUMER OWNED A SUBURBAN 93, AND EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEM. HOWEVER, DEALERSHIP BOUGHT VEHICLE BACK FROM CONSUMER. *AK
BRAKE HISSING NOISE HEARD WHEN PEDAL APPLIED. PEDAL LOW. FLUID LEAKING SMALL AMOUNT. CHEVY SERVICE MISDIAGNOSED PROBLEM. REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND INSTALLED NEW SHOES. BRAKES STILL HISSED. A DIFFERENT SERVICE CENTER CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED PROBLEM AS BRAKE BOOSTER AND REPLACED AT COST OF $300. TOTAL AMOUNT SPENT WAS OVER $1,000. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE ABS BRAKES VEHICLE SEVERELY PULLS TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. ALSO WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES ON WET PAVEMENT THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL LOCKS UP. IN ADDITION, EVERY 11,000 MILES THE FRONT BRAKES PADS PREMATURELY WEAR OUT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
RA95026; POOR BRAKE PERFORMANCE; BRAKES FEEL REAL SPONGY AND THE BRAKING DISTANCE TAKES TWICE AS LONG. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON REGULAR ROAD CONDITIONS, NO INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. DEALER STATED THAT THE SYSTEM IS WORKING NORMALLY.
FRONT AND REAR BRAKE PADS ARE PREMATURELY WEARING OUT, CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER CANNOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. *AK *ML
