TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, WHILE DEPRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS, BRAKES, TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITY TRAC WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS ABLE TO COME TO A SLOW STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF AN UNKNOWN ELECTRONIC ISSUE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER CHEVROLET OF MONTEBELLO (310 W WHITTIER BLVD, MONTEBELLO, CA 90640, (323) 271-3453) AND MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 134,000.
TAMARA RECALL CAR JUST SHUT DOWN MACHANE SAY ELECTIIAL TURN CAR OFF WOULD NOT STRAT BACK IN MY YARD
"TAKATA RECALL" MY 08 TAHOE'S INSTRUMENT PANEL AND GAUGES ARE FAILING TO WORK AT TIMES. MY SPEED GAUGE, GAS AND RPM GAUGE JUST STOPPED WORKING. THEY STARTED BACK, BUT I THINK IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT I WAS DRIVING IT WHEN IT HAPPENED. I AM JUST TRYING TO FIND OUT AND REPORT THE PROBLEM. THE OIL GAUGE NEVER CAME BACK ON, IS THERE ANYWAY YOU SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS ISSUE? I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN EVERYTHING STARTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V240000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, THE RADIO TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN, AND OTHER LIGHTNING IN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO FLICKER. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE DOOR ACTUATORS WENT OUT ON MY CAR. THE VEHICLE IS ALL FACTORY SETTINGS. I BELIEVE IT IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE OR ELECTRICAL. DOORS NOT LOCK USING KEY FOB OR POWER LOCKS BUTTON. HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
OUT SIDE REARVIEW MIRRORS, WILL NOT OPEN AND CLOSE, USING INSIDE SWITCH. HAVE TO ROLL DOWN WINDOWS TO ADJUST MIRRORS. THIS IS DONE WHEN ENTERING OR BACKING OUT OF THE GARAGE.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ONE OF THE CRACKS WAS LOCATED NEAR THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2008 CHEVY TAHOE LTZ AND THE DOOR LOCKS JUST QUIT WORKING ONE DAY. ON ALL 4 DOORS!! THE KEY FOB WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS NOR WILL THE LOCK OR UNLOCK BUTTON IN THE CAR WILL WORK. I FEEL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. WHAT IF YOU ARE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WITH NO WAY TO LOCK YOUR DOORS AND SOMEONE JUMPS IN YOUR CAR WITH YOU WITH A GUN! I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN FOR ME! PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL FOR THE DOOR LOCKS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY DRAINED AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT EVERY THREE MONTHS. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. ON ONE OCCASION, THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS THAT CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE, THE BATTERY LIGHT AND THE ABS WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
THE FRONT A/C&HEATER BLOWER FAN QUIT WORKING, AND NOW IT AND THE REAR BLOWER QUIT BLOWING AGAIN. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED THE FRONT BLOWER ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR WAS COMPLETELY MELTED. *TR
THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR HAS FAILED ON MY 08 CHEVY TAHOE ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR. THE TWO OTHER TIMES WERE THE DRIVER'S DOOR. CHEVROLET REPLACED THE ACTUATOR THE FIRST 2 TIMES BECAUSE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. *JS
SIRIUS XM SIGNAL IS NOT WORKING AND I HAVE HAD THE DEALER DO A REBOOT/RESET ON THE RADIO. THE RESET WORKED FOR 2-3 MONTHS WHEN I TOOK IT TO GILCHRIST CHEVROLET IN TACOMA WA. I HAVE LOST SIGNAL AGAIN AND DEALERSHIP IS NOT VERY HELPFUL WITH THIS TYPE OF SITUATION. SIRIUS XM POINTS THEIR FINGER AT GM AND GM IS POINTING THEIR FINGER AT SIRIUS XM. I JUST WANT MY RADIO TO WORK. DEALERSHIP DOES NOT SEEM KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT HYBRID CARS THAT GM MANUFACTURED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 08V441000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
VEHICLE WON'T START, DASHBOARD LIGHTS ALL ACTIVATED RANDOMLY, BATTERY NOT PROBLEM, ALL ELECTRICAL NOT WORKING, WINDSHIELD WIPERS RANDOMLY ACTIVATED. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN 2 MONTHS. LAST TIME, BATTERY WAS JUMPED AND CAR WORKED FOR 2 MONTHS. BATTERY CHECKED 2 DIFFERENT TIMES AFTER, BATTERY IS GOOD. HAD DOORLOCK PROBLEMS 5 TIMES SINCE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE IN 2008. COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FIRST 4 TIMES, AND REIMBURSED ON 5TH TIME. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL, SENSOR PROBLEMS SINCE PURCHASE. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS MANY PROBLEMS WITH CHEVY BEFORE. READING OTHER COMMENTS, THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE FOR OTHERS AS WELL. IS THERE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM? DOESN'T SEEM LIKE OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE RECEIVED SATISFACTION WITH THEIR ISSUES EITHER. WHAT IS CHEVY DOING TO RESOLVE? TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN; I AM WRITING BECAUSE I HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE DOOR LOCKS ON OUR 2008 CHEVY TAHOE. WE HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR LOCKS IN THE PAST AS WE HAVE HAD TO LITERALLY CLIMB OUT OF THE WINDOW TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE DOOR LOCKS AGAIN AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE CHEVY SERVICE THIS MORNING. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID THE CHARGES ARE $300 PLUS. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 84,470 MILES. THIS PROBLEM IS HUGE CONSIDERING THAT YOU CAN NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR ONCE A LOCK COMPLETELY FAILS IN THAT YOU HAVE TO CLIMB OUT OF THE WINDOW TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. ALSO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAS BEEN MAKING GRINDING NOISES WHEN IT IS USED OPEN AND CLOSE. AS THIS IS ALSO ANOTHER SIMILAR ISSUE THAT OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT. MY QUESTION IS WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO RECALL AND FIX? BEING THAT WE SPENT GOOD EARN MONEY TO BUY THIS VEHICLE AND VERY MUCH LOYAL TO CHEVY'S VEHICLES. WHAT HAPPENED TO TAKING CARE OF YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS? A RECALL SHOULD BE INDEED INITIATED TO SETTLE THESE REPEATED ISSUES WITH THESE VEHICLES SO CUSTOMERS CAN FEEL THAT CHEVORLET IS INDEED LOYAL TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AS WE ARE LOYAL TO PURCHASE THEIR VEHICLES. DOOR LOCKS ON PASSANGER SIDE FAULTY. *TR
THE DOORS FILL WITH WATER AFTER IT RAINS. THE WATER DOESN'T DRAIN AND BEGINS TO SMELL LIKE MOLD IN THE CAR. NOW, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FOR THE WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS IS ACTING STRANGE. *TR
THE DOORS ON MY VEHICLE STILL FILL UP WITH WATER AND SWITCHES HAVE SHORTED OUT. IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND I HAVE TO CHECK FOR WATER IN THE DOORS EVERY TIME IT RAINS. THE 2010 DATE IS WHEN THE DEALER FIRST REPLACED SHORTED SWITCHES IN THE DOOR. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS A RARE OCCURRENCE AT THE TIME, BUT NOW THERE IS A MAJOR RECALL FOR SIMILAR PROBLEMS, BUT THE TAHOE IS NOT INCLUDED. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS VECHICLE AS A USED CAR IN JUNE 2010. BEFORE I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE CAR I HAD TO REQUEST THAT ONE DOOR LOCK BE FIXED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT LOCKING AUTOMATICALLY. THAT DOOR WAS FIXED (DRIVER SIDE BACK DOOR). SINCE THEN I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR AND THE DRIVER DOOR NOT LOCKING ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. THE DRIVER DOOR SEEMS TO LOCK AND UNLOCK CORRECTLY PART OF THE TIME WHEN THE WEATHER IS COOL; HOWEVER, IN THE AFTERNOONS AND DURING HOT WEATHER, THE DOOR VERY SELDOM RESPONDS TO THE AUTOMATIC LOCKING/UNLOCKING. AFTER REVIEWING THIS WEBSITE, IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO HAVE CONSISTENT PROBLEMS WITH THE LOCKING SYSTEM THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN REQUIRED TO ADDRESS AT THEIR EXPENSE. CONSUMER SAFETY LAWS SHOULD APPLY TO LOCKING SYSTEMS THAT DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. A KNOWN SAFETY HAZARD IS UNLOCKED DOORS DURING IMPACTS. SINCE THIS VEHICLE IS PROBLEMATIC IN THIS REGARD, THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT ONLY PROVIDING IMPROVED PARTS BUT, ALSO, FOR REPLACING THOSE PARTS AT THE MANUFACTURER'S EXPENSE. *TR
I HAVE OWNED THIS TAHOE FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS NOW AND I AM GOING TO REPLACE THE SECOND DOOR LOCK ACTUTOR NOW. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A CHRONIC PROBLEM. THIS REALLY IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR SEVERAL REASONS. WHEN THE FIRST ONE FAILED IT WAS THE DRIVERS FRONT DOOR, IT FAILED IN AN UNLOCKED POSITION. THATS GREAT, WE COULD STILL OPEN THE DOOR. BUT SO COULD A CARJACKER! WE DROVE THIS WAY FOR A MONTH BEFORE WE FOUND THAT THE DRIVERS DOOR DIDN'T LOCK. NOW WE ARE HAVING A SIMILAR PROBLEM, BUT NOW IT IS THE PASSANGER REAR DOOR. IT IS INTERMITTENT IN IT'S OCCURANCE BUT IT IS CONSISTENTLY IN THE LOCKED POSITION, I AM GOING TO REPLACE THIS NOW SINCE WE KNOW ABOUT IT, BUT IF WE HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND ONE HAS FAILED IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND WE DONT KNOW ABOUT IT. WE WILL BE UNABLE TO GET OUR CHILDREN OUT IN A TIMELY MANNER. I REALLY THINK THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE ALL OF THE DASH BOARD INSTRUMENTS LOST POWER, THE DOOR LOCKS ACTUATED AS RAPIDLY AS POSSIBLE, THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED, AND THE ENGINE TEMPORARILY LOST POWER, & ALL THE DOME LIGHTS CAME ON. THE ENTIRE EPISODE LASTED APPROXIMATELY FIVE SECONDS OUTSIDE OF THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO TWO WHEEL UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND THE IGNITION TURNED ON. THIS TYPE OF SCENARIO HAS OCCURRED NOW FOUR TIMES. AT ONE POINT THE VEHICLE LOCKED ITSELF WHILE SHUT OFF WITH OUR TWO YEAR OLD CHILD IN THE CAR STUCK IN HIS CAR SEAT. THE VEHICLE IS GOING IN TOMORROW FOR THE FOURTH TIME AND THE MECHANICS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MOST RECENT EVENT WAS PRECEDED BY THE REAR DOOR REFUSING TO OPEN PRIOR TO DEPARTURE, THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKERING, THE RADIO PANEL SHUTTING OFF, AND WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS WERE SWITCHED FROM DIM TO BRIGHT THE DOOR LOCKS AGAIN ACTUATED AT A HIGH RATE, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT FELL DEAD, THE ENGINE BRIEFLY LOST POWER & THE AIR BAG LIGHTS WENT ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT TWENTY SECONDS. ONCE THE MAJOR FAILURE HAPPENED THE RADIO AND INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD GO DEAD ABOUT EVERY FIVE MINUTES. ONCE WE REACHED OUR DESTINATION I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND WENT TO START IT THE NEXT DAY AND IT HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE FACTORY INSTALLED TRAILER WIRING HARNESS IS DEFECTIVE BECAUSE IT IS PUSHED IN UNDER AND TO THE REAR OF THE SPARE TIRE. ACCIDENT - COMING ONTO HIGHWAY 152 WITH A TRAILER, WHICH IS A LEFT LANE ENTRY ONTO A TWO LANE HEADED EAST. EVERYTHING INSIDE WAS WORKING; PASSENGER SIDE SIGNAL WAS INDICATING PROPERLY, BUT UNKNOWN TO ME THE SIGNAL WAS NOT WORKING ON THE TRAILER. AS I MOVED OVER TO THE OUTSIDE LANE TO GIVE FASTER VEHICLES ROOM TO PASS IN THE FAST LANE (LEFT) THE CAR BEHIND ME DID NOT SEE MY SIGNAL (BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WORKING ON THE TRAILER, BUT WAS ON THE TAHOE) AND HAD TO SLAM ON HIS BREAKS AND SKIDDED DARN NEAR INTO ME. THIS IS REALLY DANGEROUS AND IS A FLAW IN THE MANNER IN WHICH THE WIRING HARNESS IS SQUEEZED INTO THE TINY SPACE AT THE REAR OF THE SPARE TIRE. I TRACED ALL THE WIRING AND IT IS IN THE HARNESS SINCE I COULD NOT GET A CURRENT FLOW READING FROM THE CONNECTOR/TIT THAT IS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE SIGNAL AND STOP LIGHTS. YES, I DID CHECK THE FUSE AND IT IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL. I FULLY EXPECT TO HEAR FROM YOU SINCE I CANNOT FIND A SATISFACTORY PLACE TO CALL CHEVROLET; ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS SELL YOU ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AUTO DOOR LOCKS WENT OUT ON MY 2008 CHEVY TAHOE LT JUST AFTER 36,000 MILES. THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME $500 TO FIX IT. THERE APPEARS TO BE MANY GM VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED ON THE AUTO DOOR LOCKS.
