My car started lagging while driving and the power was low. And vehicle started shaking. Traction Tire keeps automatically shutting off and through investigation I found it was from TCM or EMC. But when looking at fuse box all fuses look burnt. I noticed there were other recalls on this year of vehicle that could possibly match up with my issue however my specific vehicle only has one incomplete recall. I’d like to know there were any other recalls that were “fixed” I’m not the first owner of this vehicle. I want to know what else I can do before going and buying a part. Electrical is not included in my warranty.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that she pulled off the highway and waited approximately 20 minutes and was able to restart the vehicle, and the vehicle had regained normal functionality. The contact stated that the failure had become a recurring failure. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and retrieved DTC codes that related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V614000 (Electrical System). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Driver side window stopped working , then passenger window is glitchy, driver side door buttons are not working along with windshield wipers. Replaced battery and did testing to make sure power was getting to components . No check engine lights , no codes or warning issues.
The electrical system malfunctioned. My car is available upon request for inspection. The lives of myself and my children was at risk. I have not taken my car to a dealer to be inspected, I shouldn’t have to pay the dealer over $100 just to inspect my vehicle for a manufacturer’s defect, especially because there is/was a recall for this exact issue. Recall #14515. I have video of my car doing exactly what is stated in the recall on a different day than the first incident. I was driving on the highway with my 3 children and all of a sudden the lights on my dashboard start lighting up the warning bell starts ringing and the dash displays the messages, “ engine power is reduced, service traction control, service stabilitrack, traction control off.” When this happened my car suddenly slowed down on its own and then ultimately just turned off. I was on the highway so traveling about 70mph. There was a LOT of traffic, we were very lucky that I had a few seconds to pull onto the shoulder when the messages started appearing on the dash before the car turned off I was not at a complete stop when the car shut off and couldn’t steer at all. We could have been hit by a car traveling at a high rate of speed. This same issue has occurred several times since the first incident, I am scared to even put my children into this vehicle. It’s so unfortunate that the manufacturing company is aware of this issue and has only chosen a select number of vehicles to include in the recall.
Replaced alternator 1 yr ago when my battery suddenly died. Fast forward to now it seems that the new alternator is failing in some capacity because of an improper design. The volt meter would drop below 14 while driving and have seen other reports from other Traverse owners with the same issue. Please issue a recall.
BLIND ZONE SYSTEM NEEDS SERVICE, CAUSING BLINKERS TO NOT WORK, STEERING COLUMN FAILED AND RADIO QUIT WORKING
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR I RECEIVED A AIRBAG WARNING AND SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO. IMMEDIATELY AFTER MY ENTIRE DASHBOARD WENT DARK. CAR CONTINUED TO DRIVE WITH WORKING HEADLIGHTS. IT APPEARED TO RESET SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN WOULD WORK FINE FOR A WHILE. BEFORE THE SAME PROBLEM WOULD COME BACK. THIS TIME WITHOUT THE AIR BAG WARNING. HAPPENED IN SNOWY WET CONDITIONS. IT WAS MULTIPLE TIMES ON A CITY STREET, AND MULTIPLE TIMES ON A HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF THE OWNER OF A 2014 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING THE CONTACT WAS ALMOST LEFT STRANDED THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60-65 MPH, WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE RESIDENCE AT A REDUCED SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIM ELLIS CHEVROLET, 5900 PEACHTREE BLVD, ATLANTA, GA 30341, (770) 457-8211, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS MOISTURE IN THE FUSE BOX WHICH CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE DRIVER WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUSE BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V614000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
IN THE COURSE OF THE LAST YEAR MY CHEVY TRAVERSE HAS LOST POWER ON THE FREEWAY. OUR TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT HAS COME ON SEVERAL TIMES POWERING DOWN THE ENGINE AND PLACING US, ME & MY FAMILY IN A VERY HARMFUL SITUATION. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO OUR MECHANICS THEY HAVE DIAGNOSED IT AND REPLACED SEVERAL RELAYS. THAT DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM PLACING ME ON THE FREEWAY ONCE AGAIN DOWN IN LAX WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR POWERING DOWN & TRACTION LIGHT COMING ON AND PULLING OVER AND PLACING US IN YET ANOTHER DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAVE READ THE MOTOR VEHICLE CODE FOR CALIFORNIA TITLE 49 SECTION 301. THIS MALFUNCTION DEFINITELY POSES AN UNREASONABLE RISK TO THE PUBLIC. ALSO, NOTED ON NHTSA, NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRANSPORTATION SAFETY ADMINISTRATION WEBSITE NOTES THERE IS A RECALL ON ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS REPORTED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUSE BOX NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR OVER A YEAR AND A HALF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MARINE CHEVROLET (1408 WESTERN BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, NC 28546) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000. 2014 CHEVY TRAVERSE LS, 66K MILES, PURCHASED USED IN MAY 2018. AT RANDOM, TRACTION CONTROL TURNS OFF, REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND SOMETIMES SHUTS OFF. HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, AND ONCE WHILE CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY! TURN CAR OFF FOR ABOUT 5 MINS, AND IT RUNS NORMALLY, BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, UNTIL THE NEXT DAY THEN ALL IS NORMAL AGAIN. THEN THE CYCLE REPEATS--OVER AND OVER! AFTER SOME RESEARCH, FOUND A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE (GM #14515), BUT IT DID NOT COVER ALL 2014 TRAVERSES, NOT TO MENTION THIS ISSUE AFFECTS SEVERAL GM MAKES AND MODELS AND HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE AT LEAST 2007!! THIS PROBLEM IS WELL DOCUMENTED BY HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING. I FIND IT EXTREMELY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT GM HAS NOT BEEN MADE TO MAKE THIS RIGHT VIA FULL FLEDGED RECALL--NOT JUST CERTAIN VEHICLES. THIS IS DANGEROUS!! MY FAMILY AND I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A FEW SERIOUS ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS "FLAW" THAT GM IS WELL AWARE OF SINCE THEY ISSUED A RECALL TO FIX IT (BUT NOT FOR ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES). CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND ALTHOUGH THE PERSON WAS NICE, HE SAID NOTHING HELPFUL AT ALL (TAKE IT TO A DEALER AND PAY A $120 DIAGNOSTIC FEE FOR WHAT? GM KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT'S WRONG), AND ADVISED MY CAR WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. WHY NOT?!?!?!? IT MOST CERTAINLY HAS THE ISSUE FOR WHICH THE RECALL WAS DONE!!! THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED BECAUSE MY CAR DECIDED TO RANDOMLY REDUCE POWER AND/OR SHUT DOWN. UNLESS THAT'S WHAT GM IS WAITING FOR BEFORE THEY DO THE RIGHT THING. AND TO THINK MY FATHER SPENT 36 YEARS WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY...
TAKATA RECALL MY COMPUTER SYSTEM TOLD ME I HAD LOW AIR PRESSURE IN MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. I PULLED OFF THE INTERSTATE ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND PUT AIR IN MY TIRE. AFTER EACH FILL I RECHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE THROUGH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND IT CONTINUES TO DROP IN NUMBER. I SPENT AROUND 20 MINUTES TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY IT DIDN'T LOOK FLAT BUT MY VEHICLE WAS RECORDING IT WAS. I DECIDED IT MUST BE A COMPUTER ERROR AND PROCEEDED TO FILL MY OTHER TIRES AND VACUUM MY CAR. I PULLED OFF AND SOMETHING TOLD ME TO ASK THE GENTLEMAN GETTING GAS IF MY FRONT RIGHT TIRE LOOKED FLAT, HE SAID, 'NO, IT'S YOUR BACK RIGHT TIRE, I CAN HEAR THE AIR ESCAPING' SURE ENOUGH I COULD HEAR IT TO, AND COULD SEE A LARGE CRACK IN THE TIRE. I DECIDED TO CONTINUE HOME BUT IT GOT TO LOW AND HAD TO PULL OVER. SO MY COMPUTER SYSTEM IN MY NEW USED CAR WARNED ME ME ABOUT A PERFECTLY GOOD TIRE AND PULLED MY ATTENTION AWAY FROM A TIRE THAT HAD A HOLE IN IT. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FEEL CHEVY NEEDS TO FIX THIS AND COMPENSATE ME FOR HAVING TO SIT IN A BIG LOTS PARKING LOT FOR 2 HOURS WAITING FOR ASSISTANCE WHEN I COULD HAVE BEEN HOME WAITING IN MY LIVING ROOM HAD I NOT WASTED SO MUCH PRECIOUS TIME FILLING A TIRE THAT WAS PERFECTLY FINE.
WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC AT A RED LIGHT, I FELT THE CAR SHUDDER, AND THE ENGINE DIED. IT STARTED RIGHT UP. DROVE IT HOME. IT PRODUCED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. MY MECHANIC CHECKED IT WITH HIS ANALYZER, AND HE TOLD ME THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE IGNITION SOMEWHERE. I GOOGLED RECALLS FOR MY MODEL YEAR AND RECALL 14515B POPPED UP. NOBODY AT GM (TOLL FREENUMBER) OR THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THIS MEMO EXISTS. IT DESCRIBES PERFECTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH MY VEHICLE

UPON DELIVERY OF VEHICLE HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES, RADIO OFF FOR NO REASON, LIGHTS OFF FOR NO REASON. U-HAUL DEALER FOUND THE FUSES IN FUSE BOX WERE FLOATING AND NOT STABLE IN CONNECTORS, WHOLE FUSE BOX WAS THIS WAY. IF YOU RAN YOUR FINGER ACROSS THE FUSES THEY WOULD MOVE, SWAY AND WERE NOT STRONGLY HELD IN THE CONNECTORS. I TOOK TO DEALER SHOWED MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN "AS IS" DUE TO FIRE HAZARD. FUSES WERE ALL LOOSE >20. FUSE BOX WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER I STILL EXPERIENCE SHIFTING PROBLEMS, FUEL GAUGE ISSUES, DEALER UNABLE TO RECREATE LOUD THUMP NOISE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, DEALER HAS RECODED SHIFT POINTS, SAYS TRANSMISSION "WILL LEARN", THIS FIXES PROBLEM FOR SHORT PERIODS, BUT ONCE AGAIN WHEN VEHICLE IS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, VEHICLE HESITATES AND LOUD "BANG" NOISE.PROBLEM MAY BE IN AXLES OR WHEEL WELL, DRIVE SYSTEM. AS WE PULLED UP IN THE 2014 CHEVY TRAVERSE AROUND 2 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING MY FATHER SHIFTED INTO PARK AND TRIED TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND PULL THE KEY AS HE DID THAT THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT THE IGNITION AND WE TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES THEN WE CALLED ON STAR THEN THEY TRANSFERRED US TO CHEVY ROADSIDE, THEY COULDN'T FIND A SOLUTION SO THEY TOLD US TO REMOVE THE KEY FOB AND COVER THE DASHBOARD WE TOOK IT TO THE SHOP THE NEXT DAY AND WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GET IT BACK YESTERDAY BUT GUESS WHAT, THE [XXX] KEY GOT STUCK AGAIN, WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO SHOW US THE REMOTE START.
