We were involved in a small fender bender accident, and the car caught on fire. It started with the dashboard, and it spread to the rest of the vehicle. The car ended up burnt to a crisp. Nothing salvageable.

1. The battery for the auto start/stop system has been dead (since a week after my warranty expired). The Start/Stop warning light has been on ever since. 2. The side sliding doors on both sides are temperamental. It takes a few tries to make them stay closed. 3. The button on the outside front door handle no longer functions when I push it to lock the doors. I can lock from the FOB or from the inside of the car.

The warning sign came on referring to the start/stop not working. First time in 11/2021I took to the dealership& was sched for a “recall that would fix the warning light. When i came in for this specific repair i had to pay $357 jan 2022. Now today is the 2nd time this light has came on& it is may 1, 2022 & warning light is on again referring to start stop not working…..i was not reimbursed for the 1st repair that was actually a recall…..

Vehicle would not start and would not move out of "run" position so I could not turn it off. Multiple warning lights and messages appeared including service transmission, service shifter, vehicle not in park, also shifter lights would not come on. Could not jump start it. Eventually had to disconnect the battery and then reconnect to get it started. This is not the first time this has happened, though the first time it was stuck in the run position where I couldn't even turn it off. Shifter has already been replaced once after the first time this has happened. Auxiliary battery has also been replaced prior to this latest incident. Dealership has no idea what is wrong. I did see a prior recall that had supposedly been done regarding battery grounding, but this makes me question the work. Safety issue because I could not get the car out of the run position and it was in my garage. Also, when I did get it running, it would not go into reverse. I had to drive forward a little in my garage and then put it in reverse which worked.

TOUCH SCREEN IS NOT TURNING ON. I HAVE STARTED MY VEHICLE A FEW DIFFERENT TIMES HOPING WILL COME BACK ON, BUT NO LUCK. UNABLE TO GET TO ANY OF THE FUNCTIONS INCLUDING BACKUP CAME DOES NOT COME ON WITH IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN ACCORDANCE, "THE U.S. NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCED THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE ALL AUTOMOBILES SOLD IN THE UNITED STATES BUILT BEGINNING IN MAY 2018 TO INCLUDE BACKUP CAMERAS." UNABLE TO USE ANY OF THE CLIMATE CONTROLS, HEATED SEATS OR VENTED SEATS, RADIO, UCONNECT ETC.. ALL FEATURES UNABLE TO USE DO TO BLACK SCREEN. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES WITH MULTIPLE SCREEN SWAPS AND CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP HUMIDITY CAUSES THE SCREEN TO GO BLACK OR NOT WORK. I ADDITION, I HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP WHEN CHANGING OUT THE SCREEN PLEASE CHANGE ALL WIRING HARNESS. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS EVER COMPLETED OR NOT. THERE IS A SHORT SOMEWHERE AND WITHOUT BACK UP CAM WORKING IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I WILL BE DRIVING AND THE SCREEN WILL GO BLANK. THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR OVER A YEAR SINCE 2019

BATTERY FAILURE OF BOTH BATTERIES WITH ANY ADVANCED WARNING VIA ICON IN THE DASHBOARD. I WAS ON AN EXIT RAMP OFF A BUST PARKWAY WITH HUSBAND, DAUGHTER, AND 2 GRANDDAUGHTERS IN THE CAR. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE SENIORS. DEAD CAR. HAZARDS DIDN'T EVEN WORK. KIDS CLIMBED OVER THE SEATS TO GET OUT THE FRONT DOOR. SLIDING DOORS DIDN'T WORK. SCARY OCCURRENCE. COULD HAVE BEEN FAR WORSE IF I WAS GOING 60MPH ON THE PARKWAY. CAR WAS ULTIMATELY TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDE TO GET NEW BATTERIES EVERY 2 TO TWO AND A HALF YEARS. THAT'S A SHORT LIFE FOR A BATTERY. CHRYSLER MUST USE JUNKY BATTERIES.

THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V348000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOM AHL CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM LOCATED AT (2525 ALLENTOWN RD LIMA, OH 45805) FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO LIBERTY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM LOCATED AT (12895 WORTHINGTON RD, PATASKALA, OH 43062), WHERE A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO BYERS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM LOCATED AT (465 S HAMILTON RD, COLUMBUS, OH 43213) BUT NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,000. MY VAN'S RADIO WILL RANDOMLY PLAY A HIGH-PITCHED TONE AND WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING AND HAS HAPPENED RANDOMLY OVER A DOZEN TIMES. NOTHING SEEMS TO TURN IT OFF. I TOOK A VIDEO AND SHARED IT WITH THE DEALER BUT CHRYSLER WILL NOT REPAIR/REPLACE THE RADIO. UNFORTUNATELY, THE RADIO CONTROLS ALMOST EVERYTHING IN THE CAR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENTIRE THEATER SYSTEM FAILED AND THE BACKUP SYSTEM WOULD BECOME STUCK IN CAMERA MODE WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURE INTERMITTENTLY OCCURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SOFTWARE ON THE TV MONITOR AND THE VIDEO MODULE UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT WERE REPLACED AND UPDATED AT COAST AUTO CENTER CHEVROLET (530 CHETCO AVE, BROOKINGS, OR 97415, (800) 342-9438). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME DEALER ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE CONTACT WANTED TO KNOW WHY THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V886000 (EQUIPMENT, BACK OVER PREVENTION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NUMEROUS UNKNOWN CASE NUMBERS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2018 AND IM VERY UPSET WITH THE PURCHASE. THE SLIDING BACK DOORS OPEN AGAIN WHEN THEY ARE ABOUT TO CLOSE. I HAVE TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES BY PRESSING THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR UNTIL IT CLOSES. EACH TIME I HAVE TO DO IT ABOUT SIX TIMES AND IT'S BOTH DOORS. IT IS ANNOYING AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN BECAUSE IT CAN BECOME A DANGER ON THE ROAD BECAUSE THEY CAN OPEN THEMSELVES WHILE DRIVING

THE UNPREDICTABLE NATURE OF INTERMITTENT ELECTRONIC START/STOP OPERATION CREATES UNCERTAINTY FOR THE DRIVER, AND DISTRACTS ATTENTION CONDUCIVE TO CAUSING A CRASH. DOCUMENTATION IMPLIES THAT OPERATION FOR A FEW MILES MAY BE NECESSARY TO RE-CHARGE SUFFICIENTLY FOR ESS. HOWEVER, OVER TIME ( 6-9 MONTHS ACCORDING TO MY DETAILED MAINTENANCE LOG), THE ALTERNATOR'S CAPACITY TO RE-CHARGE LAGS SUCH THAT ESS CEASES TO FUNCTION ALTOGETHER. 3.WHEN OPERATING PROPERLY, THERE IS A SLIGHT PAUSE BETWEEN TAKING ONE'S FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND ENGINE RESTART. THIS PAUSE IS MILDLY ANNOYING, BUT THE DRIVER CAN BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO IT, IF THE OPERATION IS CONTINUOUSLY RELIABLE. WHEN IT IS NOT RELIABLE, THE DRIVER TENDS TO PAUSE EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE HAS NOT STOPPED. THE DRIVER CAN THEN BE EMBARRASSED, AND 'JACK-RABBIT' UNNECESSARILY. ALTERNATIVELY, IF THE ESS HAS UNEXPECTEDLY RESUMED FUNCTIONALITY, THE DRIVER MAY ACCELERATE PREMATURELY WHICH CAUSES A SIGNIFICANT JERK ONCE THE ESS KICKS IN. EVENTUALLY, THE OPERATOR WILL BE DRIVING ERRATICALLY, CONSTANTLY DISTRACTED BY THE UNCERTAINTY. NEITHER DEALERSHIPS, NOR MECHANICS HAVE OFFERED A LONG-TERM SOLUTION. THUS FAR THEY ARE ONLY REPLACING OR RE-CHARGING THE BATTERIES. 5.I HAVE PROGRESSED THROUGH THREE DISCHARGE AND REPLACE/RECHARGE CYCLES IN A NEW VEHICLE IN JUST 17 MONTHS AND 15,000 MILES. I WAS ABLE TO EXTRACT FROM MY DEALERSHIP'S GENERAL MANAGER THAT THE ENTIRE INVENTORY OF BATTERIES ON WHICH THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DEPEND IS INFERIOR; AND SAID CHRYSLER MIGHT BE 'GOING BACK TO INTERSTATE BATTERIES'. FOR ME, THIS ERRATIC OPERATION HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. I AM INTERESTED TO KNOW NHSTA'S POSITION.

NEXT, OUR DASH LIGHTS WOULD NOT GO OFF ONE NIGHT NO MATTER WHAT WE DID TO SHUT THEM OFF AND ENDED UP KILLING THE BATTERY BY MORNING.

THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.

GOING DOWN A HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH THE SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. SYSTEM CAME BACK ABOUT 10 SECONDS LATER. THE SECOND TIME, ABOUT 5 HOURS LATER THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I COASTED TO AN EXIT PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY INTO A PARKING LOT AND SHUT OFF ENGINE. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART ENGINE AT THAT TIME AND BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG, THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AFTER 4 DAYS. ADDITIONALLY THE STOP START WARNING LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON. MILAGE OF THE VEHICLE IS 3900 MILES AND IS 3 MONTHS OLD

PURCHASED VAN NEW IN AUGUST FROM DULLES MOTORS IN LEESBURGH VA. AT 200 MILES, CAR STARTED IN MY DRIVEWAY, BUT THEN IMMEDIATELY STALLED. VAN TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALER WAS ABLE TO START CAR WITH NO PROBLEM, SO I WAS ASKED TO COME GET IT. A FEW DAYS LATER, FCA ANNOUNCES RECALL U87 FOR PCM PROBLEM. DUE TO A DEFECTIVE VOLTAGE REGULATOR CHIP, THIS VAN, PLUS OTHER CARS IN CHRYSLER'S LINEUP, STALL AFTER STARTING, AND/OR STALL WHILE DRIVING. AS I WRITE THIS ON 9/28/2018, RECALL IS NOT LIVE YET. VAN CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE STALLING AFTER STARTING ON INITIAL STARTUP IN MORNING. A FEW DAYS AGO, CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH IN TRAFFIC. I MADE MY WAY TO SHOULDER OF ROAD. I CAPTURED THE FOLLOWING ON MY CELL PHONE VIDEO: WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH BLINKING. FUEL GAUGE CYCLES FROM FROM EMPTY TO FULL. ODOMETER FLASHES "NO BUS." CAN'T RESTART CAR. I RELEASED HOOD LATCH TO LOOK UNDER HOOD AND CAR CLEARED ITSELF, AND I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. SAME PROBLEM APPEARED TWO MORE TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. EACH TIME, RELEASING HOOD LATCH CLEARS PROBLEM. I SUSPECT THE LITTLE VOLTAGE SPIKE CREATED BY RELEASING LATCH SOMEHOW AFFECTS VOLTAGE REGULATOR IN THAT PCM IN A POSITIVE WAY. TAKING CAR TO DEALER AND REQUESTING NEW PCM, KNOWING IT IS A POSSIBLY DEFECTIVE ONE. CAN NOT WAIT FOR RECALL.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE WAS DRIVING 45-50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND AN AUDIBLE CHIME WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT QUICKLY SNATCHED THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF HIS SPOUSE'S HANDS AND GUIDED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A MINOR CRASH WITH A CURB IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BUMPER AND FOG LIGHTS.
