TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER HER SIGNIFICANT OTHER PARKED THE VEHICLE AND SHUT IT OFF, HE EXITED THE VEHICLE BUT REACHED BACK IN BECAUSE THE KEYS WERE FORGOTTEN IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK BUT STARTED TO ROLL AWAY. THERE WAS A PASSENGER SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHO WITNESSED THE FAILURE OCCUR AND WAS UNABLE TO UNFASTEN HER SEAT BELT WHEN THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY DUE TO IT RETRACTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER DOOR WAS OPEN AND WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ROLLING, THE DRIVER FRONT DOOR CRASHED AGAINST THE DRIVEWAY GATE, THEN CONTINUED TO ROLL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR BUT IT FAILED TO OPEN AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO UNLOCK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ROLLING IN FULL ACCELERATION IN REVERSED AND WAS MAKING A LOUD CLICKING NOISE AS IF IT WAS TRYING TO GET BACK INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO TREES OF AN ALLY OF A GARAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE BACK INTO THE GARAGE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE AND WAS SUGGESTED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO A FORD DEALER AND DID NOT OFFER FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING 40-55 MPH, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOWN EAST FORD (LOCATED AT 18411 LYNDON B JOHNSON FWY, MESQUITE, TX 75150, (972) 584-9140) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.

MY TRUCK WAS PUT IN PARK AND I COULDN'T PUT THE CAR IN GEAR. I WAS STRANDED WITH MY FAMILY FOR 1 1/2 . I HAD TO DO RESEARCH SO I WENT TO THE INTERNET ON MY CELL PHONE AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS THE BREAK LIGHT SWITCH. I ALSO READ THE MANUAL AND IT SAID TO REPLACE THE FUSE . I DID THAT AND IT STILL WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR. I HAD MY WIFE STAND IN THE BACK OF THE CAR WHILE I DEPRESSED THE BRAKES AND THE LIGHT WOULDN'T GO ON. AFTER READING ON LINE SOMEONE HAD MENTIONED TO GO UNDER THE DASH BOARD AND GIGGLE THE SWITCH BY THE BREAK PEDDLE. I DID AND STARTED THE CAR AND THANKFULLY THE CAR WAS ABLE TO GO INTO GEAR. I HAD WENT OUT THIS MORNING AND IM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I JIGGLED THE SWITCH AGAIN BY THE BREAK PEDDLE AND IT WORKED AGAIN. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND PARKED ON AN INCLINE WHEN IT ROLLED BACKWARD AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE REAR BUMPER AND LIFT GATE WERE DAMAGED, BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP AND REPAIRED. THE POLICE WERE ALSO NOTIFIED AND AN INCIDENT REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,342.

1.) WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE EARLY IN 2009 BUT NEVER HAD A REASON TO USE THE 4WD. THE FIRST TIME WE REMEMBER USING IT, THERE WAS A LOUD CLANKING SOUND. 2.) THE SECOND TIME WE REMEMBER USING THE 4WD ON THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVESHAFT TWISTED INTO FAILURE EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED. 3.) WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY INDICATED THAT WE ABUSED THE VEHICLE AND SAID THEY COULD NOT PERFORM THE WARRANTY WORK (HOWEVER, THEY DIDN'T MIND GIVING US A LOANER CAR) EVEN THOUGH WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM THEM AND THEY KNOW WE DON'T ABUSE OUR VEHICLES. I THEN CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY IN TURN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SPOKESMAN CAME BACK AND SAID THEY STAND BEHIND THE DEALERSHIPS SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THAT THEY CONSIDERED THE MANNER CLOSED. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MADE A KNOCKING NOISE AND WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS AND LUNGED FORWARD. WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO 15 MPH TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT AND SLOWING DOWN, IT WOULD CONTINUE TO JERK AFTER AN ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE PLATE ASSEMBLY/DRIVE PLATE AND THE SCREEN ASSEMBLY WERE REPLACED. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT REMEDIED BY THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE OUT OF THE GARAGE WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN PULLING IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE ALSO PULLED BACK 6 FEET WHEN IN THE PARK POSITION. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE IDENTICAL FAILURE WHILE IT WAS IN PARK. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,035. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EXPEDITION. EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE TRANSMISSION HAS EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY SHIFTING FROM GEAR TO GEAR. THE CONTACT HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AT LEAST FOUR TIMES, BUT THEY CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000. UPDATED 03-09-09 *BF THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED ERRATIC AT HIGHER GEARS. ALSO THE VEHICLE WAS SLUGGISH ON ACCELERATION. THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE PCM AND TCM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE PARKED FOR TEN MINUTES, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS AND CRASHED INTO A BRICK WALL. THE FAILURE CAUSED $4500 WORTH OF DAMAGES. THE FORD MANUFACTURER WAS SENT PICTURES, POLICE REPORTS AND AN EYE WITNESS TESTIMONY OF WHAT HAPPENED. SHE HAS NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE.
