TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED HIS VEHICLE HAD DUEL FUEL TANKS AND WHILE IT WAS PARKED HE NOTICED FUEL LEAKING. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN THE BOTH FUEL TANKS WERE FULL THE FRONT TANK WOULD PUMP FUEL INTO THE BACK TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 162,000. THE CURRENT APPROXIMATE MILEAGE IS 163,000. UPDATED 9/17/13*CN THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN BOTH TANKS WERE OVER HALF FULL, WHILE DRIVING, THE FRONT TANK WOULD RUN THE TRUCK AND AT THE SAME TIME, PUMP EXTRA FUEL INTO THE REAR TANK, CAUSING GAS TO OVER FLOW FROM THE GAS GAP, AND ONTO THE GROUND. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL SPILLED OUT FROM THE FILLER NECK WHILE REFUELING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH DUEL FUEL TANKS AND FUEL OVERFLOWING FROM THE REAR FUEL TANK INTO THE FRONT FUEL TANK WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
THE STRAPS HOLDING THE FRONT FUEL TANK ONTO MY 1994 FORD F150 ARE CORRODING AWAY, CAUSING A SMALL GAS LEAK AND AN UNSTABLE TANK. THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM ON THE FORD 1997-2004 F150 PICK-UP TRUCKS, BUT IT DOES NOT EXTEND BEYOND THOSE YEARS THOUGH IT SHOULD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, ALL OF THE FUEL LEAKED OUT FROM THE FRONT FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL TANK STRAPS WERE CORRODED AND FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 131,000.
1994 FORD F-150 HAS A LEAKY FUEL TANK DUE TO RUSTING TANK STRAPS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL FILLER OVERFLOWED BECAUSE ONE OF THE DUAL FUEL TANKS WAS SENDING TOO MUCH FUEL TO THE OTHER TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO ORDER THE PROPER PARTS NEEDED FOR REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH THE FUEL TANK FOR THE 1993 MODEL YEAR EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS A 1994 MODEL. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
A MALFUNCTIONING CHECK VALVE WITHIN THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY CAUSES A PORTION OF THE UNUSED FUEL FROM ONE TANK TO BE RETURNED TO THE SECOND TANK. WHEN THIS OCCURS, THE CAPACITY OF THE SECOND TANK CAN BE EXCEEDED, CAUSING FUEL SPILLAGE.
1994 FORD F150 TRUCK EQUIPPED WITH 4.9L GASOLINE ENGINE AND DUAL FUEL TANKS TRANSFERS FUEL FROM ONE FUEL TANK TO THE OTHER RESULTING IN OVERFILL OF THE NON-OPERATING TANK RESULTING IN OVERFLOW PAST THE FILLER CAP. THE SPILLED FUEL CREATES A FIRE HAZARD. BELIEVED TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH PREVIOUS NHTSA RECALLS93V125000 AND 00V424000. *TR
FUEL CROSS FLOW PROBLEM.. FORD HAD A RECALL ON VEHICLES WITH PROBLEMS OF FUEL PUMPING INTO AN ALREADY FULL TANK WITH A TWO FUEL TANK SYSTEM. CHECK VALVES NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY AND FUEL WOULD BE PUMPED ONTO THE GROUND FROM THE VEHICLE. FORD CORRECTED THE PROBLEM WITH CERTAIN YEARS OF VEHICLES INCLUDING ONE OF MY PERSONAL VEHICLES . MY SON NOW WHO ALSO OWNS A SIMILAR VEHICLE THEY WILL NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH AND IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS IT PUSHES FUEL (GASOLINE) ONTO THE GROUND AND INTO THE GARAGE WHERE IT BECOMES A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. FORD HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND REFUSE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *TR
94 F150 4X4 5.0L VIN N. FUEL FROM REAR TANK GOES TO FRONT TANK. I HAVE ON MORE THEN ONE OCCASION OPENED THE GAS CAP ONLY TO HAVE SOME GAS RUSH OUT AT ME. SOME GOT IN MY EYES. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIAL FIRE OR BLINDNESS. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED AFTER FILLING BOTH FUEL STORAGE TANKS, THE FUEL RECALCULATED AND OVERFILLED THE FRONT FUEL TANK WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE ALERTED. THERE WAS A NHTSA RECALL, # 00V424000, REGARDING THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN.
MY WIFE WAS AT A GAS STATION FILLING UP BOTH TANKS IN THE TRUCK. WHEN SHE TRIED TO START IT, IT WOULD NOT START. THE GAS ATTENDANT CAME OUT AND RAISED THE HOOD AND GAS WAS COMING OUT OF THE OVERFLOW CANISTER. HE GOT A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND SPRAYED IT DOWN. NO FIRE BUT GAS HAD TO BE WASHED DOWN BEFORE WE COULD HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED IN. WE WERE TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2 TANK VALVE WHICH WAS PUSHING GAS INTO THE FRONT TANK AND WITH NO WHERE TO GO IT CAME OUT UNDER THE HOOD IN THE OVER FLOW CANISTER. BUT WE WERE TOLD OUR VIN # WAS NOT MADE AT A CERTAIN PLANT. BUT IF THIS IS A FACTORY FAULT WHY WOULD IT HAVE TO BE MADE AT A CERTAIN PLANT. WE COULD NOT EFFORD TO FIX ON OUR OWN AND WERE TOLD TO FILL THE FRONT TANK ONLY. WHAT HAPPENS IF MY WIFE FORGETS AND FILLS BOTH TANKS AGAIN WITH OUR CHILDREN INSIDE. I THINK FORD MOTOR CO SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM.SOME HOW THIS MAKES THE TRUCK HARD TO START. I AM THE SECOND OWNER AND HAVE DRIVEN THE TRUCK SINCE IT WAS NEW. DT: THE CONTACT STATED THAT 1994 FORD 150 WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL CROSSING OVER FROM ONE TANK TO THE OTHER. TANK. IF BOTH TANKS ARE FULL THE CHECK VALVE IS FAULTY AND WAS TRANSFERRING FUEL FROM ONE TANK TO ANOTHER. THUS, EXCEEDING THE CAPACITY OF THE OTHER TANK, AND LEADING TO A GAS SPILLAGE. THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING ON THE ROAD WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE FLAGGED HIM DOWN AND INFORMED HIM THAT GAS WAS LEAKING OUT OF VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TALKED TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY, AND THEY OFFERED NO FREE REMEDY. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD THE CONTACT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT SPECIFICALLY STATED THAT BOTH FORD AND THE DEALERSHIP BASICALLY TOLD HIM TO TAKE A HIKE.*AK
REAR GAS TANK TRANSFERS FUEL TO FRONT TANK CAUSING FRONT TANK TO OVERFILL AND CAUSES FUEL SPILLAGE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM SINCE 1998. I HAVE TO REMEMBER TO USE UP FRONT TANK FIRST OR GAS WILL COME OUT OF THE CHARCOAL CANISTER. THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES UNTIL I FIGURED OUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND OF COURSE TRUCK WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. *JB

WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH CONSUMER NOTICED FLUID LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO A BODY SHOP. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR AND CHECK VALVES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO EXCESSIVE FUEL IN ONE TANK. THIS INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED BY JULIAN TORRES SON JESSE TORRES.*AK THE CONSUMER FILLED BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK FUEL TANK WITH GASOLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS 60 MILES AWAY WHEN THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE GOING DOWN FASTER THAN NORMAL.THE CONSUMER. WHEN THE CONSUMER REACHED HIS DESTINATION HE NOTICED THE FUEL LOST AMOUNTED TO 9 TO 13 GALLONS. HE STEPPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED FUEL RUNNING DOWN THE FENDER TOWARDS THE GROUND. FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE FRONT FUEL TANK FROM AROUND THE GAS CAP.

MY 1994 FORD F-150 IS SPILLING FUEL OUT OF THE FRONT TANK WHEN YOU FILL THE REAR TANK. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL ON 1990 THROUGH 1993 TRUCKS WITH DUAL TANKS. THIS RECALL SHOULD INCLUDE THE 1994 TRUCKS ALSO. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD. AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. *NLM
