DT: THE CONTACT STATES WHEN IT WAS DAMP OR RAINING THE BRAKES LOCKED. THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT, BUT HAS BECOME CONSTANT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY STATED ALL FORD TRUCKS WERE MADE THAT WAY. THERE HAVE BEEN NO CORRECTIONS TO THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. *AK
OWNER STATES THAT BRAKE LINE RUPTURED, CAUSING BRAKE FAILURE. *AK (THE RIGHT FRONT STEEL BRAKE LINE RUPTURED) *SCC *JB
SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE (1996 FORD SABLE) I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS..THE CAR SHUTS OFF AT SPEEDS OF 10MPH, WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC, OR ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBEM TO NHTSA, THE DEALER, FORD MOTOR CO. AND THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER, THE DEALER SAYS HE CAN NOT FIX IT UNTIL IT DUPLICATES WHILE HE HAS IT...AGAIN HE SAYS "WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS" , I ASKED IF HE WERE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO BE INJURED OR KILLED HE SAID UNFORTUNATELY THAT'S WHAT WILL HAVE TO HAPPEN IN ORDER TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. I FIND THIS TO BE A LUDICRUOUS ANSWER, FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBLITY FOR MANUFACTURER DEFECTS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY REFUSES TO CORRECT THESE DEFECTS.*AK
SINCE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN 1999, I HAVE REPORTED TO FORD MOTOR AND BUDGET CAR SALES THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM, BRAKES JAM, VEHICLE GOES BACKWARD AND JERKS FORWARD WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC. FORD MOTOR CO. REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILTY FOR THE MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND BUDGET AUTO SALES SAYS THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM AND I NEED TO WAIT UNTIL "SOMETHING HAPPENS" THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP AND I IMPLORE SOMEONE TO ASSIST ME IN GETTING THESE DEFECTS CORRECTED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.*AK
TOTAL BREAK FAILURE, WITH NO WARNING. FORD DEALERSHIP (STERLING FORD) REPORTED RIGHT SIDE FRONT BREAKLINE HAD RUSTED THROUGH ALLOWING BREAK FLUID TO DRAIN. RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF ALL FRONT BREAKLINES AND FLEX LINES ON BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE. COST $355. CONCERN IS WAY DIDN'T THE REAR BREAKS SYSTEM PROVIDE SOME MARGIN OF BREAKING CAPACITY. WHY DID BOTH SYSTEMS FAIL SIMULATANEOUSLY?
PREMATURE WEAR OF THE ROTORS AND FRONT BRAKES. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE ROTORS AND FRONT PADS. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
THE FRONT BRAKES SHOULD HAVE LASTED MUCH LONGER 23000 MILES. SEEMS AWFULLY PREMATURE.
WHEN THE ROADS ARE WET AND ABS BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THEY WOULD LOCK UP. HAD BEEN TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. *AK
WHENEVER THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED THERE IS A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE. THIS HAPPENS UNDER ANY TYPE OF BRAKING, NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE. THE DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
OWNER HAS NO ABS BRAKES, WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT/PADS/CALIPERS, ETC. PROBLEM REMAINS. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK
WHENEVER THE WEATHER IS DAMP AND VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED FOR HALF HOUR OR MORE, THE BRAKES GRAB WHEN TOUCHED. ALSO, THEY LOCK UP AND SQUEAL ON DRY PAVEMENT. *AK
BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ARE PREMATURELY WEARING OUT. PLEASE PROVIDE OTHER DETAIL INFORMATIION. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE ABS BRAKES ON WET OR DRY PAVEMENT THE VEHICLE HAS A STRONG TENDENCY TO PULL TO THE RIGHT AND ONLY THE FRONT WHEELS RESPOND WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS APPLIED. THE REAR BRAKES DO NOT LOCK UP, CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

VEHICLE HAS BEEN RETURNED TO DEALER FOUR TIMES SINCE PURCHASED NEW. THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE CATCHES WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, CAUSING THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKES TO SKID ON ROAD SURFACE. THIS HAS BEEN ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS DURING WINTER CONDITIONS AND HAS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO AN UNWANTED SKID, WITH LOSS OF CONTROL.
TRUCK HAS FRONT ABS BRAKES AND REAR BRAKES ARE DRUMS, WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THE TRUCKS FRONT END VIBRATES, VIBRATIONS OCCUR AT ANY SPEED WITH PROBABLE CAUSE BEING BRAKE CALIPER, OWNER ALSO IDENTIFIED A BURNING SMELL OR OVERHEATING OF BRAKES.*AK *JB
THE VEHICLE'S REAR ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS INTERMITTENTLY, CAUSING THE REAR ABS SYSTEM WHEELS TO LOCK UP AND VEHICLE SKIDDED WHICH ALMOST CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS. *AK
FACTORY INSTALLED PUSH-ROD, BETWEEN THE BRAKE PEDAL AND MASTER CYLINDER, WAS NOT THE PROPER PART (IT WAS TOO LONG). THE RESULT OF THIS ERROR HAS CAUSED FAILURE TO THE ABS SYSTEM.
WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT AND APPLYING THE BRAKES YOU HEAR A METAL TO METAL GRINDING SOUND AND BANG. THIS VEHICLE HAS ABS.*AK
