TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 30 MPH WHEN THE WINDOW DETACHED FROM THE CABLE AND FELL INTO THE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL BODY SHOP WHERE THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,780 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,800.

WHILE ENTERING AN ON RAMP TO GET ONTO THE FREEWAY, I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE NEXT THING I KNOW, THE WINDOW IS DOWN AND I CANNOT ROLL IT BACK UP. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I'VE TOLD THEM NOT TO LET THE WINDOW DOWN (THEY DO IT ANYWAY) AND THEN I HAVE TO WASTE MORE TIME HAVING THEM MANUALLY ROLL THE WINDOW BACK UP IN HOPES THAT IT WILL STAY UP. THEN, ABOUT A YEAR LATER, THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAS NOW FALLEN DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! NEEDLESS TO SAY, I'M THANKFUL THAT MY TRUCK WASN'T STOLEN OVERNIGHT WHILE I WAS SLEEPING BECAUSE OF THE WINDOW RANDOMLY FALLING, AGAIN! I'M TIRED OF PUTTING MONEY INTO THIS TRUCK AND LOOKING TO GO TO ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT IS NOT A FORD. IF I KNEW I COULD FILE A COMPLAINT WHEN THE INITIAL INCIDENT HAPPENED, I WOULD HAVE DONE SO WITH NO HESITATION. *TR
2005 FORD F-150 HAD LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL WHILE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING. THE RIGHT SIDE FAILED FIRST THEN THE LEFT SIDE FAILED A FEW DAYS LATER. THE WINDOW DROPPED COMPLETELY WHEN THE REGULATORS FAILED. *TR
I OWN A 2005 FORD F150 XLT W/ ELECTRIC WINDOWS. MY TRUCK HAS 82,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN SERVICED BY THE DEALERSHIP REGULARLY SINCE I BOUGHT IT NEW. I WAS DRIVING TO RUN ERRANDS AND MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW MADE A LARGE POP NOISE AND STARTED TO SLIDE DOWN INSIDE MY DOOR. I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 40MPH ON A BUSY TWO WAY STREET. I USED ONE HAND TO HOLD MY WINDOW UP AND THE OTHER TO STEER UNTIL I COULD FIND A SPOT TO PULL OVER. I EVENTUALLY HAD TO LET THE WINDOW DROP TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR TO RETURN HOME. *TR
WE HAVE HAD 3 ACTUATORS ON OUR WINDOWS IN OUR FORD F-150 GO OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WE ALMOST HAD A VERY BAD ACCIDENT WHEN THE LAST ONE "EXPLODED". IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE HAS SHOT THE WINDSHIELD WHEN IT HAPPENS AND IT IS VERY HARD TO CONCENTRATE ON DRIVING AND NOT SWERVE INTO ANOTHER CAR OR GO OFF THE ROAD. I HAVE TALKED TO MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR FORD VEHICLES. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT. WE DID GO OFF THE ROAD WHEN THE FIRST ONE BROKE, AND IF WE HAD BEEN ON A HIGHWAY WITH ANOTHER CAR BESIDE US, WE WOULD HAVE HIT IT. *TT
IT WAS A SCORCHING SUNNY FLORIDA DAY WHEN MY WINDOW ON MY 2005 F150 WOULD NO LONGER WORK DUE TO A WINDOW MOTOR REGULATOR ASSEMBLY FAILURE THAT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD LIKE TO REPAIR IT AT THE WONDERFUL COST OF OVER $300 AMERICAN DOLLARS. THE WINDOW MOTOR REGULATOR ASSEMBLY HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY WORKING IN THE TRUCK FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS, NOT TO MENTION THE WINDOW SWITCH WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED AT MY OWN EXPENSE A COUPLE ABOUT A YEAR AGO ON MY TRUCK WHICH IS WAS ONLY 4 1/2 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. THE WINDOW WOULD NO LONGER ROLL UP, CAUSING SEVERE SUN BURN TO ARMS. FORD SHOULD REPAIR THIS ISSUE AT NO COST, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ALREADY. *TR
2005 FORD F-150, RIGHT REAR WINDOW MECHANISM POPS REAL LOUD,WINDOW FALLS INTO THE DOOR. I WAS NOT ROLLING IT UP OR DOWN,JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE TRUCK JUST TURNED 34,000 MILES. IT HAS BEEN GARAGED AND TAKEN CARE OF ALL ITS LIFE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT 0530 WHEN DRIVER WINDOW SUDDENLY DROPPED. IT WAS THE WINDOW REGULATOR THAT BROKE. THAT WASN'T THE ONLY INCIDENT ALL WINDOW REGULATORS BROKE WITHIN A YEAR AFTER THAT AND JUST RECENTLY THE DRIVER WINDOW BROKE AGAIN. SO THAT A TOTAL OF 5 WINDOW REGULATOR THAT BROKE IN MY TRUCK. A DEFINITE MANUFACTURER DEFECT.
2005 FORD F-150. CONSUMER STATES DEFECTIVE POWER WINDOW SYSTEM *TGW
REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE. I RARELY IF EVER HAVE PASSENGERS RIDE IN MY TRUCK AND EVEN LESS SO IN THE REAR, SO THE WINDOW RARELY EVER GETS USED. MY TRUCK IS NOT DRIVEN AND HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 4 MONTHS IN MY DRIVEWAY. I CAME HOME ONE DAY TO MY REAR PASSENGER WINDOW DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. THE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE WHILE JUST SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY NOT BEING USED OR TAMPERED WITH. I ALSO KEEP A WINDSHIELD SUNSCREEN INSIDE THE WINDSHIELD TO KEEP HEAT DOWN.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE POWER WINDOWS FAILED EXCEPT FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. THE WINDOWS CANNOT BE MANEUVERED BACK INTO THE UPRIGHT POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM THAT THE ACTUATOR TO THE POWER WINDOWS MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR, THEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR A FEW MONTHS LATER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAD JUST RUN OUT. THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW GLASS FELL INSIDE THE DOOR IN 2010. THE BACK WINDOW QUIT WORKING JUST AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT. WE NEVER GOT IT REPAIRED. EACH REPAIR COST US OVER $300.
POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED AND NOW I HAVE DUCT TAPE ON MY WINDOW B/C I CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR. *TR
WEBASTO - HOLLANDIA 700 SERIES SUNROOF BLEW OFF TRUCK GOING 70 MILES PER HOUR. THE VEHICLE IS A 2005 FORD F-150 KING RANCH SUPER CREW. ON 12/26/2010 - WHILE TRAVELING WITH MY WIFE AND CHILD FROM JACKSONVILLE, FL. TO ATLANTA, GA.AND ON I-10 WEST, 5 MILES FROM I-75 NORTH WHEN MY SUNROOF SUDDENLY RIPPED OFF THE TOP OF MY TRUCK. THE SUNSHADE WAS ALSO RIPPED OUT INSTANTANEOUSLY. FORTUNATELY THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS FAR ENOUGH BACK TO SWERVE AND AVOID BE HIT BY THE GLASS PANEL AND SUNSHADE. I RECOVERED THE GLASS PANEL AND SUNSHADE. *TR
2005 FORD F-150. HAD WINDOW REGULATOR REPLACED IN MAY FOR DRIVER'S WINDOW. JUST HAD PASSENGER WINDOW ROLL DOWN ON ITS OWN ON THE HIGHWAY DURING A THUNDERSTORM. I WAS IN THE BACKSEAT WHILE MY HUSBAND AND FATHER-IN-LAW WERE IN THE FRONT. I WAS DRENCHED, AS WAS THE INTERIOR. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY BASICALLY SAID "NOT OUR PROBLEM", I CAN'T AFFORD THE $500+ IT COSTS TO GET IT FIXED, ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE TALKED TO NUMEROUS PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THEM AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY FORD HASN'T BEEN FORCED TO DO A RECALL. WHAT IF SOMEONE IN THE BACKSEAT WAS HIT BY A HAILSTONE? WHAT IF THE GLASS HAD SHATTERED AND HIT THAT CHILD? WHAT IF THE WINDOW WENT DOWN WHILE AT AN INTERSECTION AND SOMEONE HAD CARJACKED ME? I COULD BE DEAD BECAUSE FORD WANTS TO PUT OUT SHODDY WORK AND NOT STAND BEHIND IT. I HAVE HAD OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS TRUCK, BUT THIS IS THE WORST. MY HANDLE FOR THE TILT STEERING WHEEL BROKE OFF AFTER 6 MONTHS, THE BACK PART OF THE SIDE MIRROR FELL OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ONE MORNING. PLEASE DO WHATEVER HAS TO BE DONE TO FORCE A RECALL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20-25 MPH THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR. HE STATED THAT A YEAR AND A HALF EARLIER THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW ALSO FELL INTO THE DOOR. WHEN THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE ACTUATOR AND THE CABLES FOR $150. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED A SECOND TIME WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,172.
I HAVE A 2005 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING THREE DAYS AGO I HEARD A LOUD POP AND SUDDENLY MY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WAS GONE, IT HAD FALLEN INTO THE DOOR. THE MOTOR STILL RUNS, BUT THE WINDOW IS STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. TODAY WHILE STARTING MY TRUCK, THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW DID THE SAME THING, A LOUD POP THEN THE WINDOW SLID SLOWLY INTO THE DOOR. THE MOTOR STILL RUNS ON THIS ONE AS WELL, BUT DOES NOT MOVE THE WINDOW. SO NOW I HAVE TWO WINDOWS THAT ARE INSIDE THE DOOR THAT WILL NOT GO UP. *TR

IN AUGUST 2007 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND MY DRIVER WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR. VERY SCARY AND VERY DANGEROUS. LIVING IN ARIZONA IN AUGUST THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES ARE ABOVE 100. NOT ONLY WAS I SCARED BUT HOT AND SWEATY. *TR
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2005 FORD F150 SUPERCAB TRUCK. I RECENTLY HAD ANOTHER POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAIL ON MY VEHICLE. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 35MPH. THIS IS THE SECOND REGULATOR THAT HAS BEEN REPLACED ON THIS VEHICLE (THE FIRST ONE OCCURRED THREE YEARS AGO). WHEN THIS FAILURE OCCURS THE WINDOW JUST DROPS COMPLETELY DOWN INTO THE DOOR WITH NO WARNING. WHEN THIS FAILURE OCCURS WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING IT CAUSES A VERY BIG DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF THE VEHICLE. THREE YEARS AGO, WHEN THE FIRST REGULATOR FAILED, I HAD MY VEHICLE PARKED (LUCKILY AT HOME) AND I NOTICED THAT THE WINDOW WAS IN THE DOWN POSITION. I RECALLED ROLLING THE WINDOW UP WHEN I PARKED MY VEHICLE, SO I GOT IN IT TO PUT THE WINDOW IN THE UP POSITION. AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION ON AND PRESSING THE UP BUTTON, NOTHING HAPPENED. THIS TIME IT WAS THE DRIVERS WINDOW. I AM VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE NOT PARKED MY VEHICLE IN A PUBLIC PLACE WHEN THIS FAILURE OCCURRED BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE GIVEN ANYONE ACCESS TO THE INSIDE OF MY VEHICLE. ALTHOUGH THE FAILURES DID NOT RESULT IN ANY INJURY OR LOSSES, THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE CONCERNING VEHICLE SAFETY. I CONDUCTED SOME INTERNET RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE AND IT APPEARS THAT OTHER 2004-2005 F150 OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THESE WINDOW REGULATORS. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THE REMAINING 2 WINDOWS WILL FAIL OVER TIME. ON BOTH OCCASIONS, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A REPLACEMENT WINDOW REGULATOR INSTALLED. ONE OF THE REGULATOR REPLACEMENTS WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THE MOST RECENT ONE WAS NOT. THIS REPAIR COST WAS $220. I FEEL THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT REGULAR MAINTENANCE NOR NORMAL VEHICLE CARE COULD PREVENT. THIS IS A DEFINITE EQUIPMENT FLAW THAT THE OWNER HAS NO WARNING OF WHEN IT WILL OCCUR. THEREFORE I FEEL THAT THESE REGULATORS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE IT POSES A SAFETY ISSUE TO THE VEHICLE OWNER AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROADWAY. *TR
YOUR SITE SHOWS A HIGH NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THE VEHICLE I OWN, A 2005 FORD F-150, IN WHICH PEOPLE ARE STARTLED WHEN A SIDE WINDOW ON THIS VEHICLE "POPS" LOUD ENOUGH TO BE A GUNSHOT, THEN FALLS INTO THE DOORFRAME. IN READING THEIR COMPLAINTS YOU CAN SEE HOW LUCKY SOME OF THEM WHERE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. MUCH LESS HAVING TO PAY ~$400. TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BY FORD. DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS IN THE UP POSITION BUT DROPPED INTO THE PANEL WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE GARAGE WHERE I WAS INFORMED THE WINDOW REGULATOR WAS BAD. WINDOW COULD HAVE SHATTERED, INJURING DRIVER AND PASSENGER IN THE BACK SEAT, OR, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *TR
ON SEPTEMBER 20, 2010, THE WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED ABRUPTLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 FORD F150 AT 55 MPH. THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR WITHOUT WARNING. ON OCTOBER 13, 2010, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FAILED IN THE SAME FASHION. BOTH INCIDENTS STRUCK ME AS VERY DANGEROUS WITH A COMPARABLY HIGH PROBABILITY TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. AFTER THIS LAST INCIDENT, I REVIEWED THE NUMEROUS WEBSITES DEDICATED TO THIS ISSUE AND THE CONCERN EXPRESSED BY MANY DRIVERS THAT FORD HAS REFUSED TO RESPOND TO WHAT IS CLEARLY A GRAVE SAFETY HAZARD.
