BRAKES ROTORS WARPED AT 14,000 I HAD THE TRUCK IN FOUR TIMES SENSE IT HAPPENED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 43,500. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE ON TWO OCCASIONS BUT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. AS OF MAY 16, 2008, THE DEALE HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. BRAKE VACCUM BOOSTER HOSE FAILURE . *TR
THE LOSS OF BRAKE POWER ASSIST SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER HAS INDICATED THE FAILURE ?RESULTED FROM A BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY VACUUM HOSE BECOMING DETACHED FROM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD.? IT WAS FIXED UPON THE FIRST OCCASION, BUT A SUBSEQUENT FAILURE HAS OCCURRED. *TR
ON SATURDAY, MARCH 8, 2008, I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY 2006 FORD F-150 AND STOPPED FOR GAS. UPON ENGINE RESTART I HEARD A BACKFIRE AND SMELLED A PECULIAR ODOR. I CHECKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND UNDER THE HOOD AND FOUND NOTHING UNUSUAL. I STARTED THE TRUCK AND DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING EITHER. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY OTHER VISUAL REFERENCE TO INDICATE THERE WAS A PROBLEM. I GOT BACK ON THE HIGHWAY AND DROVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS (100 MILES) AND EXITED THE HIGHWAY. WHILE ON THE EXIT RAMP I APPLIED THE BRAKES ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THEY WERE EXTREMELY HARD TO DEPRESS AND WERE INEFFECTIVE. I MANAGED TO GUIDE THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND GEARING DOWN AND WAS ABLE TO STOP BEFORE HITTING VEHICLES STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AT THE END OF THE RAMP. I DISCOVERED LATER (AFTER BEING TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP) THAT THE VACUUM LINE FROM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD HAD RUPTURED (OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE BACKFIRED) LEAVING NO POWER ASSIST FOR THE BRAKES. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THERE WAS NO BRAKE WARNING LIGHT. THERE WERE NO CODES FROM THE ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER. I HAD TRAVELED FOR 2 HOURS AND 100 MILES WITH NO BRAKES UNAWARE OF THE EXISTING HAZARD. THE DEALER COULD NOT EXPLAIN THE ABSENCE OF ANY WARNING. I WAS FORTUNATE TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK AND AVOID AN ACCIDENT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DESIGNED DIRECTLY BELOW THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. EVERY TIME HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD ALSO BE APPLIED. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT IT COMPLIED WITH FORD'S STANDARDS; THEREFORE, NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE CONTACT FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. TRUCK BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT PRESS AND THE TRUCK HAD VERY LITTLE BRAKES, THIS OCCURRED DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH NO WARNING, TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD A VACUUM HOSE WAS FAULTY SUPPOSED TO BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT INVOLVED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE BRAKES FAILED WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VACUUM LINE TO THE BOOSTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,111 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,050.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT 30 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT A VACUUM HOSE CAME LOOSE. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $162. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,999 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000. UPDATED

WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, SHE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE HOSE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. THE PURCHASE DATE AND TRANSMISSION TYPE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 22,950.
I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM FORD THAT THERE IS A BRAKE VACUUM PROBLEM THAT IS DANGEROUS AND MAY CAUSE TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. I WAS TOLD BY LOCAL DEALERS THAT THE 1) PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR VEHICLES ALREADY PAID FOR... 2) FORD IS ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFICATION OF PART FAILURE AND IS NOT REQUIRED TO REPAIR THE FAILURE (EVEN THOUGH I AM STILL UNDER WARRANTY... 3)PART FAILURE NOTICES WERE HELD EVEN THOUGH THE DEALERS KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM, BECAUSE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. *TR

SHE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AN AMBULANCE AND SUSTAINED RIB FRACTURES AND CONTUSIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V2078000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS) WAS REFERENCED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 16,000.

WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AT A LOCAL GAS STATION(5 - 8 MPH), I APPLIED THE BRAKE TO STOP AND IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE TRUCK JUMPED THE SIDEWALK AND CRASHED INTO THE BUILDING. AFTER PICKING THE TRUCK UP THE NEXT DAY, THE BRAKES WORKED FINE AND EVERYBODY THINKS I'M NUTS! CURRENTLY HAVING TRUCK ACCESSED BY DIFFERENT SOURCES. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT HEARD A POPPING SOUND AND NOTICED SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD AND DASHBOARD WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. THE NOISE SOUNDED AS IF THE VEHICLE BACKFIRED. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE POWER BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OFF THE ROAD. HE NOTICED THAT THE VACUUM HOSE WAS DETACHED FROM THE MANIFOLD, WHICH SUPPLIES VACUUM POWER TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A FORD DEALER. THE DEALER PLACED THE VACUUM HOSE BACK ON THE ENGINE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IT SHOULD BE REPLACED. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000. 2006 FORD F-150 WITH BRAKE FAILURE. CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL FELL ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR LEVEL. HE STATES THAT THE DEALER IS UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *KB
COMPLETE POWER BRAKE FAILURE.I TURNED ON MY ENGINE, HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND, DROVE FORWARD A FEW FEET AND DISCOVERED THE POWER BRAKES INOPERABLE. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON BEFORE OR AFTER THE INCIDENT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP --OLYMPIC LINCOLN MERCURY SEATTLE-- AND THEY REPAIRED IT UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SAID A POOR CONNECTION OF A PRESSURE LINE UNDER THE FUEL RAIL CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID NO RECALLS HAD BEEN ISSUED. THEY HAD NO EXPLANATION FOR WHY THE WARNING LIGHTS DID NOT COME ON. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS AGO. I DON'T HAVE THE PAPERWORK IN HAND. IF NEEDED I CAN PROVIDE THE EXACT DATE. THE DATE ABOVE IS A QUESTIONED. WHILE DRIVING 40MPH POWER BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. I WAS ABLE TO STOP & PULL OVER WITH COMBINATION OF E BRAKE AND COASTING. FORTUNATELY THIS HAPPENED ON A SIDE STREET WITH ONLY LIGHT TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FORD DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT A VACUUM BOOST HOSE WAS DETACHED FROM THE MANIFOLD. THE DEALER REPLACED THE HOSE AND ADDED A CLAMP TO THE CONNECTION. *TR
I CURRENTLY DRIVE A 2006 FORD F-150 WHICH I LEASED NEW IN MARCH OF 2006. SINCE DAY ONE I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE BRAKES ON THE TRUCK. THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES BELOW THE GAS PEDAL WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. MY WIFE CANNOT DRIVE THE TRUCK BECAUSE SHE CONSTANTLY HIT THE BRAKE AND GAS AT THE SAME TIME. I HAVE CHECKED WITH OTHER OWNERS AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TELL ME THAT THIS IS NORMAL WITH THE NEW FORD TRUCKS. COMPLAINTS TO FORD DIRECT HAVE RESULTED IN NO RESPONSE. I ALSO HAVE THE PROBLEM OF HITTING THE BRAKE AND GAS AT THE SAME TIME UNLESS I PUMP THE BRAKES FIRST, IN A PANIC SITUATION THERE IS NOT TIME TO PUMP THE BRAKES. THIS PROBLEM IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. *AK
TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 F150 FORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN BACKING UP, AND APPLYING THE BRAKES IT WAS EASY TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES. ON ONE OCCASION HE WAS BACKING UP IN THE DRIVEWAY WHEN HE BUMPED THE GARAGE AND DID SOME DAMAGE TO THE GARAGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 5600 MILES ON IT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F150. EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER ON FOUR OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS BRAKES FEEL SPONGY AT ALL SPEEDS AND WHEN IDLING. HE STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL STOPS THE VEHICLE, BUT IT IS NOT FIRM AND EXTENDS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. DURING ONE OF THE FOUR TRIPS TO THE DEALER, THE MECHANIC BLED THE BRAKE LINE, BUT THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD IN FEBRUARY OF 2006, WHICH STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO CONFORM TO BOTH STANDARD #105 AND #135. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 6,888 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
TL* - THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT 8 - 10 MILES PER HOUR, AND APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE CAR ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A WALL AND WAS BADLY DMAGED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONTACT STATES THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. WE WILL BE CONTACTING THE CALLER FOR MORE INFORMATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
