Frame of the body is completely rusted through to the point that it is almost unsafe to drive. It was identified when attempting to replace the rocker panel on the passenger side and the list put a hole in the frame. The vehicle has been well maintained but the amount of rust seems unusual for the age of the vehicle. I know the previous owner and he took painstakingly good care of the vehicle and it has been driven very little since I purchased it a couple of years back. The fix is to repair the frame at the cost of $3k plus or let it rust away completely. The amount of rust does not add up and I see similar issues with thousands of comments online.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR STICKS UNDER ACCELERATION. VERY DANGEROUS. IT'S HAPPEN 5 TIMES TO ME. 21,196 MILES ON THE TRUCK. I HOPE THIS TRUCK DOESN'T KILL NO ONE SOME DAY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT NOTICED RUST ON THE BOTTOM CORNERS OF THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER CREW CAB DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A DRAIN TUBE CAME FROM THE SUN ROOF AND HAD NO WAY FOR THE WATER TO GET OUT. AS A RESULT, THERE WAS RUST AROUND THE LOWER FRONT STRIP OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS, AND THE BOTTOM TWO CORNERS OF THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS NEEDED TO BE CUT OUT AND THE METAL RE-WELDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER (KIP KILLMON FORD, 201 E MAIN ST, LOUISA, VA 23093 (540) 967-1350) WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT NHTSA'S PHONE NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY FOR A VEHICLE OF THAT YEAR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
SUDDEN ACCELERATION AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, TRUCK KEPT ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN, HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, I WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES I HAD TO PUT IT ON PARKING FOR THE TRUCK TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.
FORD F150 PAINT IS STARTING TO PEEL ON REAR TAIL GATE, SIDES AND UNDER REAR WINDOW. LOOKS LIKE THERE IS NO PRIMER. WE HAVE SEEN OTHER F150S WITH SAME PAINT ISSUES IN THE SAME AREAS. IS THIS A NEW PROBLEM WITH FORD F150S? HAVEN'T TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIP YET. DATE IS APPROXIMATE.
WHILE TRYING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AFTER PARKING, THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN. THE LOCK KNOB AND INSIDE HANDLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE OUTSIDE HANDLE WOULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR EITHER. THE DRIVER HAD TO CLIMB OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS SEIZED. AFTER REPLACING THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY, THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE AND A CABLE, THE DOOR NOW FUNCTIONS PROPERLY.
WHEN OPENING THE LEFT REAR DOOR FROM INSIDE WHILE IT IS STATIONARY, THE HANDLE DOES NOT RETURN TO THE STOWED POSITION AFTER OPENING THE DOOR UNLESS IT IS PUSHED MANUALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE IN ADDITION TO ANOTHER UNRELATED ISSUE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED THAT THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE EXACTLY WHAT WAS MENTIONED IN A RECALL I FOUND INVOLVING THIS MODEL/YEAR VEHICLE (RECALL NUMBER 11V04900, RECALL DATE 02/01/2011). THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY OPEN RECALLS, BUT WOULD INSPECT THE IT ANYWAY. THE DEALER DID VERIFY THE CONDITION AND PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR IT. THE ESTIMATE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE/DAMAGED COMPONENTS WAS HIGHER THAN THE I WAS WILLING TO PAY, SO THE REPAIR WAS DECLINED. *TR
EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE MUST BE PULLED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE DOOR OPENS. DELAYS ENTRY INTO VEHICLE, BOTH SIDES AFFECTED. NO DIFFERENCE NOTICED WITH VEHICLE RUNNING OR PRIOR TO STARTING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A LONG TIME.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO OPEN THE DOOR. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE FRONT INTERIOR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH DOOR HANDLES FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS SEVERE CORROSION ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROCKER PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
IN APRIL 2014 I NOTICED A VAST AMOUNT OF WATER COLLECTING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT FLOOR. THERE WAS A LEAK COMING FROM THE SUNROOF DOWN THE HEADLINER AND THROUGH THE POST TO THE FLOOR. I INSPECTED THE SUNROOF AND FOUND THE DRIP PAN TO BE WET. I POURED A LITTLE WATER THROUGH THE DRAIN HOSE AND IT DID NOT GO THROUGH. I BROUGHT IT TO FORD FOR REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT THE DRAIN HOSE WAS KINKED AND WAS LIKE THAT FROM THE FACTORY. THEY CUT THE DRAIN HOSE TO THE CORRECT LENGTH AND ADJUSTED THE SUNROOF. THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE VEHICLES EXTENDED WARRANTY DID NOT COVER IT. I PAID OUT OF POCKET $210. FAST FORWARD TO DECEMBER 10, 2014, WHEN I NOTICED WATER COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT ASSIST HANDLE. I WENT TO FORD FOR SERVICE AND MENTIONED THIS TO THE SERVICE TECH AND WAS TOLD THAT EVERYONE WHO HAS A SUNROOF WAS EXPERIENCING THIS DUE TO THE HEAVY RAIN. THIS MORNING DECEMBER 17TH, I NOTICED WATER IN THE SAME AREA COMING FROM THE HANDLE. I CHECKED THE SUNROOF AND DID NOT FIND THE PAN TO BE WET. I CALLED FORD AND ADVISED THEM, AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN DECEMBER 22ND FOR ANOTHER WATER TEST. THEY ALSO ADVISED ME THAT THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, SO I WILL AGAIN HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. THIS TRUCK HAS 19,000 MILES ON IT AND IT CAN'T BE DRIVEN IN RAIN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. TH CONTACT STATED THAT UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS ADVISED THAT THE MOTOR WAS RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR (SOMETIMES CALLED THE "SUICIDE" DOOR) ON THE FORD F150 EXTENDED CAB TRUCK REFUSED TO OPEN. UPON RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM IT WAS FOUND TO BE AN ONGOING FORD PROBLEM SINCE THE 1990'S. THE CHILD SEATS IN THE BACK WOULD HAVE BEEN INACCESSIBLE IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. I WAS DRIVING AND MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR POPPED OPEN THEN WOULD NOT CLOSE TOOK TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHAT HAPPEN HE LOOKED AT STAYED IT WAS THE LATCH BROKEN I SEE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS YEAR OF DOOR HANDLES SO I BROUGHT THAT UP TO SERVICE MAN HE SAID IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH RECALL WERE IT EXPLAINED IN RECALL DOOR HANDLE OR ANY HOUSING IN THE DOOR HANDLE FAILS IT WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE THEY DID NOT HONOR THIS I PAID 450.00 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE HANDLE I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND WHAT IF IT WAS THE KIDS BACK DOOR INSTEAD OF DRIVER SIDE DOOR THAT POPPED OPEN THEN MY KID WOULD HAVE FELL OUT THE DOOR I WANT FORD TO TAKE CARE AND MAKE SURE ALL OTHER DOORS ARE GOOD AND REIMBURSE ME FOR THE BILL I ALREADY PAID THAT FORD DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME 450.00 THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED EVEN IF THE SPRING WAS REPLACED MAYBE IT WAS OR WASN'T OR NOT DONE CORRECTLY. *TR
WE ARE THE OWNERS OF A 2009 FORD F-150. A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WE RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL STATING THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE DOOR AND THAT WE NEEDED TO TAKE IT IN FOR REPAIRS. WE FOLLOWED PROCEDURE AND TOOK OUR TRUCK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP & THE RECALL ISSUE WAS FIXED (OR SO WE THOUGHT) AND WE NEVER GAVE IT A SECOND THOUGHT. WELL, FAST FORWARD TO A LITTLE OVER 1 MONTH AGO ( APPROXIMATELY 3 YEARS AFTER THE 'RECALL' ISSUE WAS FIXED ), OUR TRUCK WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. NOT A MAJOR ACCIDENT, BUT A FENDER BENDER. WHEN THE OTHER VEHICLE HIT OUR TRUCK, THE SIDE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED/ UNLATCHED. THE ORIGINAL RECALL STATED IT WOULD/ COULD UNLATCH DURING A SIDE IMPACT, BUT THE RECALL SHOULD HAVE FIXED THAT. IN OUR MINDS THAT PROBLEM WAS FIXED & WE HAD PEACE OF MIND. WELL OUR TRUCK DID NOT RECEIVE A SIDE IMPACT, BUT A REAR END IMPACT, AND THE DOOR ISSUE APPARENTLY WAS NOT FIXED AT ALL. THE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED/ UNLATCHED AND MIND YOU, THIS WAS A FAIRLY MINOR ACCIDENT. ONLY PROPERTY DAMAGE, NO BODILY INJURIES. I AM NOW SCARED FOR OUR SAFETY AS I DON'T FEEL MY FAMILY IS SAFE IN OUR TRUCK SHOULD ANOTHER ACCIDENT OCCUR, ESPECIALLY A BIGGER IMPACT ACCIDENT, & HAVING THE DOOR UNLATCH LIKE THAT INSTEAD OF PROPERLY PROTECTING THOSE INSIDE. THIS STARTED ABOUT SPRING OF 2011. MY TRUCK HAD ABOUT 26,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN WHEN I HEARD A TRICKLE OF WATER IN THE BACK SEAT. I LOOKED BACK AND SAW NOTHING. LATER WHEN I GOT TO WORK I CHECKED TO SEE IF I COULD FIND OUT WHAT THE TRICKLE NOISE WAS. IT TURNED OUT THAT THE ROOF WAS LEAKING. IN THE BACK TWO CORNERS OF THE CAB WATER WAS COMING IN. APPARENTLY, A HARD RAIN CAUSES THE WATER TO POOL ON THE ROOF. THE RUBBER GASKET ON THE ROOF HAS APPARENTLY BECOME BRITTLE AND IS LETTING WATER IN. I LOOKED ONLINE FOR SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND SAW OTHERS, INCLUDING LEAKS FROM THE SATELLITE ANTENNA AND THE CENTER BRAKE LIGHT. PLEASE HELP. MY TRUCK GETS WET EVERY TIME IT RAINS AND THE WET, MUSTY ODOR THAT FOLLOWS IS DISGUSTING. I HAVE ALSO HEARD THAT FORD CONSIDERS THIS A COSMETIC ISSUE MUCH LIKE DOOR DINGS AND SCRATCHES. WHILE ON VACATION I WAS DRIVING DURING A RAIN STORM AND MY PASSENGER NOTICED WATER COMING FROM THE PLASTIC HANDLE INSIDE THE CAB. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND WATER STAINS ON THE HEADLINER ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AND IN THE REAR OF THE CAB AT BOTH CORNERS. MY BUMPER TO BUMPER EXPIRED LAST MONTH, I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH FORD AND REGARDLESS OF HOW LONG IT HAS BEEN LEAKING I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. MY MAJOR ISSUE IS THE FACT THAT THE MOLD AND MILDEW IS A MAJOR HEALTH ISSUE AND NOW I HAVE TO WONDER IF MOLD SPORES IS THE CAUSE OF THE RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS I HAVE BEEN HAVING. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FRAME WAS BENT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SERVICED FOR THE FAILURE AND THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 3,000. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 40 TO 50 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE DURING A TEST DRIVE; HOWEVER, THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD BE RELATED TO THE FRAME ASSEMBLY. THE ZONE MANAGER AND THE FIELD ENGINEER FROM FORD ALSO TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIBRATION OCCURRED AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AT 300 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,600.
