Left front tire blew without warning, lost control of truck and trailer and crossed the median into oncoming interstate traffic. Stearing link on truck broke, not sure when. Truck and trailer were totaled. LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW WHILE PARKED A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER. No visible defects. I have attached two pictures of the left front tire taken at the scene of the accident and three pictures of the left rear tire taken as it failed in two stages, first a bulge in the tread, followed a few weeks later by a zipper-like sidewall separation. Tires were less than 10 years old when they failed. I still have the tires as well as the other two matching tires from the set. The accident occurred in Bath NY. Michelin LT235/85R16

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AND REAR TIRE. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE, TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE, AND VIN WERE UNAVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRES BECAME UNRAVELED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE SPARE TIRE WAS INSTALLED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12T019000 (TIRES) BUT THE DEALER WOULD NOT HONOR THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE WARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,500. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I HAVE TIRES ON A VEHICLE THAT ARE ON RECALL #12T-019. HAVE VISITED SAMS CLUB IN MONTGOMERY AL MONTHS AGO ABOUT REPLACEMENT. THEY SAID TIRES WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT, TOOK MY NAME AND PHONE NUMBER TO CALL WHEN THE TIRES ARE AVAILABLE. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM SINCE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIRE WAS TWENTY YEARS OLD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE ON THE TIRE WAS 41,930.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD F250. THE CONTACT OWNS A TIRE BUSINESS AND HAS HAD TEN NANKANG MUDSTAR RADIAL TIRES, SIZE 305/70R16 (NA) RETURNED BY CUSTOMERS. THE TIRES ARE COMING APART WITH VERY LOW MILEAGES. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD ASSIST. AS OF APRIL 18, 2008, THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT ASSISTED. THE CONTACT HAS ALL THE RECORDS FOR EACH TIRE THAT WAS REPLACED. NO OTHER VEHICLE OR DEALER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE.
TIRE BEGAN TO BOUNCE AT 40 MPH. RETURN TO RETAILER AND FOUND THAT TIRE WAS SEPARATING. REPLACE 2 TIRES UNDER WARRANTY,LATER 1 MORE TIRE DID SAME . REALTOR WAS ASK IF THIS WAS PROBLEM. NOT A PROBLEM, INSTALLER STATED THEY HAD SEEM MANY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING A 2000 F-250 FORD PICKUP RIGHT REAR FIRESTONE TIRE BLEW OUT. WE HAD OVER $3,000 DAMAGES TO THE BOX AND EXHAUST OF THE PICKUP. WE REPLACED TIRE OURSELVES AND INSURANCE PAID FOR DAMAGES TO PICKUP. WE HAVE PICTURES AND INSURANCE COMPANY HAS PICTURES AND STILL HAVE WHAT WAS LEFT OF THE TIRE THAT BLEW OUT. WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH SPARE TIRE CARRIER CABLE LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE BROKE. AS A RESULT, THE SPARE TIRE FELL OFF IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. *AK THE CABLES END HAD COME OF DUE TO THE RUSTING AND FRACTURING OF THE CABLE AT THE END PIECE WHICH WAS CAST ONTO THE CABLE END. WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH CONSUMER HEARD A FLAPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER COMING TO A STOP CONSUMER DISCOVERED THAT THE SIDEWALL RUPTURED ON THE LEFT REAR TIRE. DEALER EXAMINED THE TIRE AND CLAIMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TIRE *AK. CONSUMER FOUND OUT THAT SEVERAL FORD F250 MODELS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME TIRE FAILURE. *LA
