DT: CONTACT STATED WHEN STEPPING ON THE BRAKES THE CAR JUMPED ALL OVER THE ROAD AND IT WILL NOT STOP. IT BOUNCED AROUND UNCONTROLLABLY. CONTACT NOTICED THIS PROBLEM WITH LESS THAN 3,000 MILES ON IT IN 1999. THE DEALER TOLD CONTACT THAT IT WAS THE BRAKES ON AND HE HAD BRAKES ON THE CHANGED. BUT, PROBLEM RECURRED AS LONG AS BRAKES WERE ON. WHEN CONTACT HAD THE ABS BRAKES DISCONNECTED PROBLEM DISAPPEARED. *AK
WHEN THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE.*JB
VEHICLE, WHEN LOADED TO GVW, DOES NOT HAVE ADEQUATE BRAKES, FRONT WHEELS LOCK, LONG STOPPING DISTANCES, ESPECIALLY ON SLIPPERY SURFACES. BRAKE PEDAL REQUIRES EXCESSIVE FOOT PRESSURE.*AK
CONSUMER STATED THE ROTORS FAILED PREMATURELY, WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL, WHEN DIRT WAS BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND THE INSIDE OF THE ROTOR, IT CAUSED PREMATURE WEAR, AND THE CALIPER BECAME IN CONTACT WITH THE ROTOR WHICH CREATED A METAL TO METAL CONTACT. MR *JB

WHILE DRIVING 45-65 MPH, BRAKES MALFUNCTION/ LOCK UP, CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TWICE. *AK CONSUMER STATES THAT ON 23-FEB-2002 DEALER REPLACED HYDRO BOOST AND FRONT PADS VEHICLE STARTED LOCKING UP AGAIN, ON 24-FEB-2002 DEALER REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND NOW BRAKES ARE WORKING. *YD
WHILE PRESSING ON BRAKES, VEHICLE FAILS TO STOP, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. VEHICLE ALSO PULLS TO LEFT OR RIGHT WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK THE MANUFACTURER SAYS THAT THE HEAVY WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE BRAKE PROBLEM. ALSO, ROUGH ROADS CONFUSE THE COMPUTER RESULTING IN BRAKE PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR. *YH
AT 30MPH BRAKE HOSE STARTS TO LEAK FLUID, MAKING IT HARD FOR VEHICLE TO STOP. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
I HAVE HAD THE FRONT BRAKES REPLACED 3 TIMES AND THE REAR BRAKES REPLACED 2 TIMES. THESE REPAIRS WERE ALL DONE WITHIN THE 3 YEAR, 36,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. SOON AFTER THE WARRANTY ENDED, THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THE TRUCK WAS FINE. THIS IS IN NO WAY A TRUE STATEMENT. EACH TIME I HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR THESE BRAKE PROBLEMS, THEY HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKES AND HAVE AGREED THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THE LAST TIME THEY HAVE WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THERE ALSO WAS A RECALL FOR THE REAR BRAKES.*AK
BRAKE ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND HAVE ALSO BEEN TURNED TWICE.FORD INSTALLED NEW ROTORS AND PADS 36000 MILES UNDER WARRANTY,THIS SEEMS TO BE AONGOING PROBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS,I'M CONCERNED WHY THIS IS HAPPENING EVERY 9000 MILES OR SO AND WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FURTHER REPAIRS NOW THAT THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED.IT APPEARS THAT FORD DOESN'T REALLY HAVE A REPAIR FOR THIS PROBLEM.DOING FRONT BRAKES EVERY 9000 MILES IS NOT NORMAL FOR ANY SIZE TRUCK AND IS A MAJOR SAFTEY CONCERN FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.PLEASE INFORM ME OF ANY RECALLS OR IF FORD IS STILL LIABLE FOR FURTHER REPAIRS.THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME.*AK
CONSUMER STATED HE EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS WARNING LIGHT FOR OVER 16 MONTHS BEFORE THE PROBLEM WAS ACTUALLY DIANOSED AS BEING A FAILED ABS MODULE, CONSUMER STATED THERE WOULD ALSO BE A POPPING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE BEING APPLIED.*JB
FRONT END OF VEHICLE STARTS WOBBLING WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
INTERMITTENTLY WHEN APPLYING BRAKES PEDAL BECOMES HARD, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER HAS INSPECTED AND REPAIRED VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURS.*AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 35MPH ON HIGHWAY AND BRAKES LOCKED UP IN FRONT OF AN INTERSECTION. HE WENT TO APPLY BRAKES AND VEHICLE DIDN'T STOP. HAS ABS BRAKING SYSTEM. ALSO, ALL FOUR TIRES WERE TURNING.*AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 30PMH ON HIGHWAY. AS HE WAS APPROACHING THE LIGHT, WENT TO APPLY BRAKE THE PEDAL, AND PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO FLOOR. THERE WERE NO BRAKES, AND CONSUMER RAN INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND MECHANIC TOLD CONSUMER THAT THE BRAKE LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
WHEN BRAKING UNDER A LOAD OR BRAKING HARD THE POWER BRAKES LET GO AND THE PEDAL HAS TO BE PUMPED. NLM
WHEN CONSUMER APPROACHES A STOP SIGN VEHICLE MOVES BY ITSELF. HE HAS TO PUMP PEDAL TWO OR MORE TIMES TO STOP. PEDAL IS BLEEDING THROUGH THE SYSTEM. *AK
EVERY 20,000 MILES ROTORS WENT OUT. FRONT END BOUNCED AROUND, AND STOPPING DISTANCE HAD INCREASED. THIS WAS THE 3RD TIME THAT ROTORS WORE OUT. DEALER SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF IMPROPER BRAKING. *AK
VEHICLE LOST BRAKING CAPABILITY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DUE TO BRAKE LINE SEPARATING AT A UNION, CAUSING BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
THE BRAKES FAILED COMPLETELY AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITHOUT ANY INDICATION. THE BRAKE LINE WAS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED PRESUMABLY AT THE FACTORY.*AK
I FEEL THERE IS A DESIGN DEFECT IN THE PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO OWNERS OF SIMILAR AND ALL SEEM TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. WHEN THE PAKING BRAKE IS APPLIED IT IS INSUFFICIENT TO HOLD THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING.
BRAKE ROTORS KEEP WARPING CAUSING CYCLIC LOADING AND POSSIBLE FATIGUE FAILURE TO STEERING AND BRAKING COMPONENTS. DESIGN CHANGE HAS BEEN MADE TO RECENT PRODUCTION, OLD UNITS ARE STILL DEFECTIVE IN DESIGN AND/OR MANUFACTURE.*AK
AT 10009 MILES I HAD BRAKE SHUTTER(VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE) WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THIS WOULD OCCUR MORE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALER ( MONACO FORD 767 NEW LONDON TNPK PO BOX 110 GLASTONBURY CT 06033 PHONE 1-800-727-2377)AND THEY REPAIRED THE PROBLEM. ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS IN THE FOLLOWING MONTHS I HAVE REPEATEDLY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE DEALER HAS REPEATEDLY REPAIRED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE LISTED THE DATES AND MILEAGE. SECOND OCCURENCE JUNE 1999 MILEAGE 22876. THIRD OCCURRENCE JUNE 1999 MILEAGE 24225. FOURTH, OCT 1999 MILEAGE 36370. FIFTH, JAN 2000 MILEAGE 46492. IN FEB OF THIS YEAR THE PROBLEM CAME BACK AGAIN AND I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY STATED TO ME THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO AND FORD WASN'T GIVING THEM ANY MORE INPUT SO THEY HAD TO TAKE THE STANCE THAT THERE WASN'T ANYTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO FOR ME. I CONTACTED THE FORD CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS AND WAS REPEATEDLY TOLD THAT THE TRUCK WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO FOR ME EVEN THOUGH THEY REALIZED THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE 10000 MILES. ONE OF THE PHONE REPS AT C.A.C. DID TELL ME THAT FORD REALIZED THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE A FIX FOR IT AT THIS TIME. HER NAME WAS SHIRLEEN(THIS WAS ON OR ABOUT FEB 21 2000). WE SHE STATED THAT FORD HAD AGKNOLEDGED THE ONGOING PROBLEM, SHE TOLD ME THAT FORD WOULD CONTINUE TO REPAIR MY TRUCK DISPITE THE EXPIRATION OF ITS WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO WORSEN AND AT THIS TIME THE TRUCK VIOLENTLY SHAKES WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES AT ALL SPEEDS OVER 40 MPH AND I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY IF I WERE TO INCURE A PANIC BRAKING SITUATION. I HAVE DESPARATLY TRIED TO CONTACT A FORD REPRESENTATIVE THROUGH THE C.A.C. AND THE DEALER BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO PUT ME IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE FROM FORD. THEREFOR BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF CONTACT FROM FORD I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO CONTACT MY ATTORNEY TO HELP ME WITH THIS MATTER. A WRITTEN SUPLIMENT WILL FOLLOW.
WHEN DRIVING & STARTING TO BRAKE, BRAKES WOULD PULSATE & VIBRATE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER & MECHANIC INDICATED BRAKE ROTORS & SHOES WERE INADEQUATE FOR VEHICLE. THE ROTORS WERE WARPING, AND WERE TURNED. CALIPERS & SHOES WERE REPLACED. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. ROTORS/CALIPERS & SHOES WERE REPLACED AGAIN FOR THE 4TH TIME. HEAT FROM SIZE OF TRUCK WOULD WARP ROTORS. DEALER WAS ORDING HEAVY DUTY BRAKE ROTORS/ CALIPERS & SHOES.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED,GOING AROUND CURVE, CONSUMER APPLIED BRAKES AND STEERING LOCKED UP. LOST CONTROL, CAUSING VEHICLE TO HIT GUARDRAIL.*AK
