DRIVING ON A CORNER ONRAMP THE TRUCK'S POWER STEERING GAVE OUT AND THE VEHICLE BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE STEERING RETURNED. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING. NO ISSUES WERE FOUND WITH THE POWER STEERING PUMP. RECENTLY HAD THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FLUSHED AND THAT SEEMED TO IMPROVE THE PROBLEM; HOWEVER, IT'S STARTING TO RETURN. WILL BE TAKING IT BACK IN AGAIN TO SEE IF THE ISSUE CAN BE FIXED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F -350 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY VEERED TO FROM SIDE TO SIDE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 140,000 .

DURING U-TURN, A CURB WAS TRAVERSED BY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. AFTER STEERING CAME BACK STRAIGHT, STEERING WHEEL WAS OFF CENTER 25 DEGREES WITH TRUCK PULLING LEFT. AN ALIGNMENT WAS DONE TO CORRECT THAT LASTED A MONTH. STEERING WHEEL DRIFTED BACK TO 25 DEGREES OFF CENTER AND TRUCK PULLED TO LEFT. A SECOND ALIGNMENT WAS COMPLETED BY A DIFFERENT DEALER CORRECTING PROBLEM FOR THE MOST PART. VEHICLE STILL PULLS LEFT AND OR RIGHT ON CERTAIN ROADS, WITH PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL THAT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED OUT. CONCLUSION IS STEERING BOX IS PRETTY "LIGHT DUTY" FOR A SUPER DUTY RATED TRUCK. TRUCK WAS ON SECOND STEERING GEAR BOX WITH FIRST DEVELOPING A DRIFTING ISSUE SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE - DEALER DETERMINED CORRECTION COULD ONLY BE MADE BY BOX REPLACEMENT. CURRENT MILES ARE 37,600. FUEL PRICES INHIBITING MILES. *TR

THERE WAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE STEERING GEAR BOX. THE SHAFT PIN SHREDDED OFF ALLOWING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SPIN FREELY WITH NO MOVEMENT TO THE WHEELS. *TR

THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRACK LINK AND THE STEERING GEARBOX BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
I'M THE OWNER OF A 2008 FORD PICKUP TRUCK MODEL F-350. THE TRUCK WAS TAKING SERVO TIMES TO A DEALER TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING WHEEL THAT IT LOCKS BY ITSELF YOU WANT TO TURN LEFT AND THE CAR GOES RIGHT OR STRAIGHT AND YOU LOOSE THE CONTROL I ALMOST GOT KILLED .THE DEALER SAD THAT THEY CANT SEEN TO FIX THE PROBLEM ONE DEALER SAD THAT HE REPLACED THE GEAR BOX BUT NEVER DID. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR I HAVE THREE KIDS AND NOBODY WANTS TO HELP ME I EVEN CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND LET THE NOW THAT IF I HAVE A ACCIDENT IT WILL BE TO THE STEERING PROBLEM WHICH I REPORTED TO THE DEALER BUT THEY CANT FIXED. I HAVE A 2008 FORD F-350 DUALLY THAT WHEN HITTING A DIP/BUMP IN THE ROAD AT SPEEDS ABOVE ABOUT 35, THE ENTIRE FRONT END SHAKES/SHIMMYS SO BAD THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN CONTROL IT! THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND A TECHNICIAN CONCLUDED THAT THE GEAR BOX FAILED. THE GEAR BOX WAS REPLACED AT A REDUCED RATE OF $100.00; HOWEVER, THEY WOULD NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COLLATERAL DAMAGE. THE FAILURE RESURFACED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND HE IS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,190. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,200.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIMMY AND SHAKE WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. ON ONE OCCASION, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK SO SEVERELY THAT HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND VEERED OFF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. HE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER, BUT HAS YET TO RECEIVE ANY FEEDBACK. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,600 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.
