I HAVE HAD A FAULTY TRANSMISSION SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR AND AS A SINGLE MOTHER, I CAN NOT AFFORD TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR SERVICING EVERY OTHER DAY. THIS TRANSMISSION IS DANGEROUS. IT SHUTTERS AND JOLTS VERY HARD AND IS CREATING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR ME AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD. VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHEN I AM NOTICING THE PROBLEMS. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IT WAS MY FAULT AND THAT THE JOLTING AND SHUTTERING IS NORMAL....WHICH IT IS NOT.
WHEN PUTTING MY 2015 FORD FOCUS IN REVERSE FROM PARK IT WENT FORWARD. I REPEATED THIS ACTION 3 TIMES BEFORE IT FINALLY REVERSED! I COULD HAVE GONE DOWN INTO A RAVINE! TOOK THE FORD FOCUS TO RIVERTOWN FORD AND THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS BUT COULD NOT "DUPLICATE" THE COMPLAINT SO THEY COULD NOT FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION JERKS FORWARD WHEN PUT IN MOTION AND SHAKES WHEN SLOWING DOWN.
UPON ACCELERATION MY CAR WILL SKIP AND JUMP. I AM TOLD BY A FORD DEALERSHIP THAT THE CLUTCH HAS TO BE REPLACED AND STOP AT ANY POINT WHILE DRIVING. I'VE REACHED AND FOUND OUT THE SAME MAKE, MODEL, YEAR HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.COSTING $1980.00 IN REPAIRS. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE , IT SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE.REPAIRS ON SAME TYPE OF CAR ARE BEING DONE WEEKLY 2 TO 3 AT A TIME.
MY VEHICLE SHUTTERS AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN PUSHING ON ACCELERATOR, ESPECIALLY AFTER STOPPING AS AT A STOPLIGHT. FORD HAS REPLACED THE CLUTCH ONCE ALREADY FOR THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER THE PROBLEM HAS SURFACED AGAIN. NOW, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE RPMS WILL ESCALATE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. ALSO THE TRANSITION FROM ONE GEAR TO ANOTHER SEEMS AS IF IT IS SLIPPING OR MISSING, AT ANY SPEED. FORD DEALER LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THE CLUTCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE PRICE IS $1253.00.
WHILE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC THE VEHICLES DPS6 DUAL-CLUTCH "POWERSHIFT" TRANSMISSION FAILED TO DOWNSHIFT PROPERLY CAUSING THE CAR TO REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF IT. IMPACT WAS ROUGHLY 15-25 MPH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. WHILE AT AN INTERSECTION, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE JERKED. WHEN THE CONTACT RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE JERKING STOPPED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHAWNEE MISSION FORD (11501 SHAWNEE MISSION PKWY, SHAWNEE, KS 66203 (913) 631-0000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
CAR BEGAN SHUDDERING AND THEN WOULD NO LONGER SHIFT GEARS OR ACCELERATE WHILE GOING UP AN ON RAMP TO THE HIGHWAY. HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO ROLL OUT OF TRAFFICS WAY.
WHEN DRIVING THIS FOCUS, UPON INITIAL ACCELERATION, THIS CAR SHUTTERS BADLY. SEEMS TO SHUTTER MORE ON HOT DAYS, BUT THIS OCCURS ALL YEAR ROUND. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, FOUND THAT THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. PLAN ON CALLING DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THIS ISSUE CAN BE RESOLVED. I DO NOT WANT THIS TO BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROB SIGHT FORD (13901 WASHINGTON ST, KANSAS CITY, MO 64145, (816) 396-6100) WHERE THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH. AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE DOUBLE CLUTCH SYSTEM AND DID NOT OFFER ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,086.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AS NORMAL AND PULLED IN TO PARK. I REVERSED AND TRIED TO GO FORWARD BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T BUDGE. I TOOK MY CAR IN ABOUT A MONTH A GO TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND THE PROBLEM LOOKED AT AND I WAS TOLD TO JUST COME IN ON MY NEXT SERVICE AND GET THE PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF. NOW THE PROBLEM HAS TURNED INTO MY CAR NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD
CLUTCH IN TRANSMISSION SLIPS. RECALLED ON OTHER MODELS BUT NOT THIS ONE. CAUSES CAR TO NOT TAKE OFF SMOOTHLY, JITTERS BAD ENOUGH TO SHAKE THE CAR.
TRANSMISSION HESITATES TO SHIFT AND SOMETIMES WORKS UN-EXPECTEDLY. TRYING TO MAKE IT GO IN A TRAFFIC SITUATION IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IT JUMPING INTO ACTION MAKES IT DANGEROUS AS WELL DOUBLE CLUTCH IS NOT CONSISTANT.

VEHICLE SHUTTERS VERY BADLY IN FIRST GEAR. FORD SENT OUT A LETTER IN SEPTEMBER EXTENDING THE WARRANTY TO INCLUDE A FREE CLUTCH REPAIR, BUT DEALERSHIPS REFUSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OPTING TO 'UPDATE' THE SOFTWARE, WHICH DOES NOTHING.
I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH 6K MILES 18 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE DRIVEN IT FOR APPROXIMATELY 15K MILES SINCE THEN. DURING THAT TIME I'VE EXPERIENCED A RECURRING, PERSISTENT AND SEVERE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER THAT MAKES THE CAR LURCH AND LAG WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP OR SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR (ALTHOUGH IT IS LESS SEVERE - STILL VERY NOTICEABLE, BUT NOT SCARY WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND). STARTING FROM A STOP IS THE MAJOR SAFETY-RELATED CONCERN FOR ME BECAUSE THE DRIVER HAS A SENSE OF LOSING CONTROL. I ASSUMED SINCE THE CAR WAS USED IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THEN A MONTH AGO I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD SAYING THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED ON THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER. THE LETTER HAD MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER ON IT SO I ASSUMED IT APPLIED TO MY VEHICLE. AFTER TAKING IT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP THEY SAID MY CAR WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN WRECKED (PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE). THEY CHARGED ME $250 TO DIAGNOSE AND CONFIRM IT HAS A SEVERE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER PROBLEM, WHICH THEY SAID WAS NOT COVERED BY FORD. THEY ESTIMATED THE NECESSARY REPAIR TO THE CLUTCH AND ACTUATOR TO BE $2,100. I CALLED THE FORD HOTLINE CONFUSED ABOUT THE LETTER I RECEIVED ONLY TO BE TOLD AGAIN THE WARRANTY DOESN'T APPLY TO ME BECAUSE THE CAR WAS PREVIOUSLY WRECKED. I UNDERSTAND A PREVIOUS WRECK MAY VOID THE WARRANTY, BUT IN THIS CASE IT SEEMS AN EXCEPTION IS WARRANTED AS THIS A WELL-KNOWN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND MY SYMPTOMS ARE IDENTICAL TO THOSE DOCUMENTED ELSEWHERE. FORD ALSO REFUSED TO REIMBURSE ME THE $250 I PAID TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED, WHICH I DID BECAUSE THEY SENT ME A LETTER TELLING ME MY WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED. FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM EVEN ON CARS WHICH OTHERWISE DON'T QUALIFY FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE OF SOME TECHNICALITY.
THE TRANSMISSION IS SHUTTERING AND SOMETIMES MAKES LONG HESITATIONS TO SHIFT. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. I TOOK IT TO TIDWELL FORD IN KENNESAW, GA AND THEY TOLD ME ITS NORMAL AND UNTIL A CODE (WRENCH) LIGHTS ON MY DASH, THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 48K ON THE MILEAGE AND NOW HAVE 54K. THE TRANSMISSION (POWERTRAIN) IS WARRANTIED TO 60000. I AM AFRAID THIS IS GOING TO BE A DISASTER. I WOULD LIKE THE CAR FIXED OR ANOTHER CAR. THE GEARS GRIND AND NOISES HAPPEN WHEN TURNING. I NEED A RESOLUTION ON THIS BEFORE MY WARRANTY RUNS OUT CODE OR NO CODE. I JUST PICKED MY CAR UP AND IT IS STILL SHUTTERING. TIDWELL FORD DID NOT HELP ME.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED THAT ONLY PART OF THE VEHICLE WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 29,600.

I HAD TO CONTROL THE CAR RIGHT AWAY AS IT STALLED. READ A LOT ABOUT THIS CODE ONLINE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON REPORTED PROBLEM WITH THE FORD FOCUS, AND THERE IS HIGH SAFETY CONCERNS AS WELL AS REOCCURRING ISSUES EVEN AFTER REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED.

TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS SLIPS AND IS GENERALLY SLUGGISH. SOMETIMES READS IN NEUTRAL AND CAR IS IN DRIVE MODE. FORD DEALERSHIPS STATE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AND SEALS NEED REPLACED HAVE WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION FROM DEALERSHIP CONFIRMING THE ISSUE. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WILL DO TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AS FORD HAS NOT RECOGNIZED THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.I WAS SHUNNED AND GENERALLY TREATED VERY POORLY BY EVERY F ORD DEALERSHIP I SPOKE WITH AS THEY STATED THEY CANNOT RECOVER THE REPAIR COSTS FROM FORD.
THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THE 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION THAT FORD AS HAD SO MUCH TROUBLE WITH, HOWEVER THEY WILL NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM THAT CAUSES THE SHUDDER AS THEY SAY IT FALLS OUT OF THE BUILD DATES. THE CAR ONLY HAS 80,000 MILES ON IT AND SHOULD NOT BE HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT THEY HAVE ALREADY RECALLED OR PUT OUT A TSB FOR HE DPS6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, IT SHOULD BE FIXED. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THERE IS TRANSMISSION SHUDDER OCCASIONALLY. IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME, BUT A LOT OF THE TIME. THIS IS THE SAME THING OTHER PEOPLE ARE FIGHTING WITH JUST A FEW WEEKS PRIOR BUILD DATE. THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU ARE TAKING OFF, SOMETIMES WHEN IT SHIFTS TO 2ND GEAR. MOST EVERY TIME IT DOES IT YOU CAN BET YOU ARE PULLING INTO HEAVY TRAFFIC AND ITS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED THIS I HAD JUST DRIVEN ABOUT 400 MILES. SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN NOTICED MORE.
