my car has bad performance, when I put gasoline it does not want to start and many times it does not detect the real level of gasoline and ramdomly the check engine light turn on on my dashboard after a mechanic check it OBD detect P144-A. I changed the valve twice and after I took the car to the dealer but as the engine light turns on and off randomly they did not detect the problem since when I took it the light was off. They told me that the car is fine but I still have the same problem.

Certain engine types of the Ford Focus had a recall campaign to replace the stuck canister purge valve. However, the 1.0 Ecoboost 3-cylinder engine was not included in that campaign. Our car is having the same exact issue and we don't understand why the campaign wasn't extended to the other engine types. This should have been an issue corrected by Ford. The Check Engine Light came on and did not go off. The Auto Parts store ran a scan and three (3) codes, all of which were the same displayed as P1450. The Error Code deals with the Canister Purge Valve (CPV) malfunction and causing excessive vaccuum in the fuel tank. My car cuts off and stalls when I fuel up. It is becoming harder to start at times. The stalling concerns me because I do not want to be in traffic and it stalls out. I see there has been a Recall on other Ford Focus vehicles, but unfortunately mine was not included. Please investigate so that I nor any other drive may be left unsafe and have to pay out of pocket during these difficult times, when a Recall can cover the issues for free.

Engine light on. Fuel tank deformation again after safety recall done in February 2019. 18S32. I do not know if the dealership really fixed it properly the first time, or that Ford made a very defective vehicle that should not have been released in the market. Ford doesn’t cover recurrence of the same safety recall.

VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY MECHANIC TO HAVE MALFUNCTIONING CANISTER PURGE VALVE THAT IS STUCK IN AN OPEN POSITION, IDENTICAL TO CURRENT RECALL #18V735000 FOR CERTAIN 2012-2018 FORD FOCUS VEHICLES WITH A 2.0L GDI OR 2.0L GTDI ENGINE. MY VEHICLE STALLS AFTER I REFUEL FOR ABOUT A MINUTE; I HAVE TO REPEATEDLY START AND STOP MY ENGINE UNTIL IT STAYS ON, AND THE ENGINE RUMBLES EXCESSIVELY FOR A COUPLE MINUTES AFTER BEING ABLE TO DRIVE AFTER REFUELING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON FOR CODE #P0441.

I WAS TOLD THE CAR PASSED INSPECTION AND THE REPAIR WAS NOT MADE. TOOK THE CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND INFORMED THAT IT IS A VALVE CAUSING A VAPOR ISSUE IN THE FUEL SYSTEM.

CAR WILL NOT START AFTER FUELING. CAR SHAKES AND SHUTTERS AND TAKES MULTIPLE CRANKING ATTEMPTS TO START CAR. THIS ONLY HAPPENS AFTER FUELING. IT ALSO DOES NOT MATTER WHETHER THE TANK IS ALMOST EMPTY, HALF-WAY FULL, OR 3/4 FULL. THE SAME THING OCCURS EVERYTIME. THIS STARTED HAPPENING AFTER THE DEALERSHIP UPDATED MY SOFTWARE PER THE RECALL. CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $100 JUST TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM THAT STARTED AFTER THEY UPDATED MY SOFTWARE.

I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR A SAFETY RECALL INVOLVING A STUCK CANUSTER PURGE VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK. AT THE TIME, (MARCH 2020) THEY USED ONE OF THEIR DEVICES TO DETECT PRESSURE AND NO CODES CAME UP WITH A DETECTION SO THEY DID NOT FIX THE VALVE AND CLOSED MY RECALL. IT IS NOW ONLY 9 MONTHS LATER AND THE SAME VALVE THAT WAS RECALLED IS FAULTY AND HAS CRUSHED MY FUEL TANK AND DEFORMED MY PUMP. THEY HOWEVER, ARE REFUSING TO REOPEN THE RECALL AND FIX THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT IS A VERY SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. MY FUEL TANK COULD COMBUST AT ANY TIME BECAUSE IT ISNT ABLE TO RELEASE PRESSURE PROPERLY AND THIS ALL DUE TO THEIR FAULTY VALVE INVOLVED IN RECALL #: 18V735000 IS THERE ANYTHING YOU GUYS CAN DO ON YOUR WND TO HELP ME FIGHT THIS?

DURING EARLY LOCKDOWN FOR PANDEMIC I ALLOWED A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO VALET SERVICE MY CAR FOR OIL CHANGE, INSPECTION, ETC AS WELL AS A FUEL TANK RECALL 18S32. CAR WAS SHOWING NO RECALL SYMPTOMS BEFORE THE SERVICE BUT WAS RETURNED TO ME IN VERY POOR CONDITION. ENGINE SEEMS TO VAPOR LOCK AT THE MOST INOPPORTUNE TIMES WITH NO POWER TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC AND WANTS TO STALL OUT, THEN IT CATCHES ITS BREATHE AND WANTS TO TAKE OFF OUT FROM UNDER ME. I'M A 62 YR OLD WOMAN WHO TRUSTED A LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND NOW I HAVE A CAR THAT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE SERVICE WRITER COULD CARE LESS AND WANTS TO CLAIM THAT I NOW NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. JUST DID A SHODDY JOB AND WANT MORE MONEY FROM ME. I'M SO DISAPPOINTED.

IT IS HARD TO START AFTER REFUELING. STARTER KEEPS TRYING BUT UNLESS YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, IT WILL NOT STARTS. THEN IT SPUTTERS WHEN IT STARTS. IT HAS ALSO SPUTTER A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN RUNNING (BUT IT NEVER STALLED)

CAR ENGINE COMPLETELY STALLED WHILE STATIONARY ON A STREET AT A RED LIGHT, THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK AND THE CAR SHOOK AGGRESSIVELY BUT WOULD NOT START. I WAS STRANDED A BUSY ROAD UNTIL SOMEONE COULD PUSH MY VEHICLE OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC WHILE IN NEUTRAL. EVENTUALLY AFTER SEVERAL TRIES AND CALLED TOW, THE CAR DID START UP AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF STALLED TIME. WHEN CAR STARTED, OIL AND ENGINE LIGHTS WERE LIT UP ON DASH. THE FUEL LEVEL WAS AT 88 MILES TO EMPTY. WHEN CAR WAS BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP, DEALER EVALUATED THE VEHICLE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE FREEZE FRAME DATA SHOWED NO FUEL PRESSURE AT START. THEY SUSPECTED FUEL PUMP FAILURE, THERE WAS TANK DEFORMATION AND THE STRAP RETAINER POPPED OFF SHOWING TANK FLEX. FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED, AND FUEL PUMP AND ALL RELATED HARDWARE, EVAP CANISTER, EVAP PURGE VALVE. INVOICE EXPENSES TOTALED TO $1070.67. CALLED FORD DIRECTLY TO FILE COMPLAINT REGARDING SAFETY RECALL 18S32 AND WAS TOLD BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED IN 2019 FOR THESE SYMPTOMS THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL 18S32. RECALL STATES: "THE ENGINE MAY STALL DUE TO A STUCK CANISTER PURGE VALVE (CPV) WITHIN THE FUEL VAPOR SYSTEM. A STUCK CPV CAN LEAD TO EXCESSIVE VACUUM IN THE FUEL VAPOR SYSTEM, CAUSING THE PLASTIC FUEL TANK TO DEFORM, RESULTING IN AN INACCURATE OR ERRATIC FUEL GAUGE INDICATION, INACCURATE DISTANCE TO EMPTY (DTE), AND/OR OTHER DRIVABILITY CONCERNS. THE VEHICLE MAY ALSO EXHIBIT AN ILLUMINATED MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP.

I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO FORD FOR A RECALL ON THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE IN THE FUEL SYSTEM. THEY PREVIOUSLY FIXED IT ON APRIL 16, 2019. MY FUEL TANK IMPLODED AND MY CAR WAS STALLING OUT AND EVENTUALLY WOULD NOT START. NOW IT'S OUT AGAIN AND MY CAR IS STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING, HAVING ISSUES WITH STARTING AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THIS HAS ALL HAPPENED ON BOTH CITY STREET AT LIGHTS AND HIGHWAYS. MAINLY WHEN I AM STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT IT WILL REV UP BY ITSELF AND THEN STALL OUT WHEN I START ACCELERATING. I'VE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO SUCH RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR THIS MATTER AND WHEN I TRIED TO SHOW THEM THE DOCUMENT I HAVE FOR THE RECALL THEY STILL DEEMED IT INCORRECT. THEY REFUSED TO FIX MY CAR BECAUSE OF IT PREVIOUSLY BEING FIXED AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. I HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES WITH THE CAR RESULTING IN IT BREAKING DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO RECALLS. THE TRANSMISSION ITSELF HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND THE CPV ONCE AND NOW IT NEEDS REPLACED AGAIN. I CALLED FORD CORPORATE AND THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME, ONLY KEPT REPEATING THAT IT'S A ONE TIME FIX. FORD SIMPLY PUT A BAND-AID ON THE ISSUE RATHER THAN SOLVING THE ISSUE.

THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HEALEY FORD LINCOLN LOCATED AT 2528 NY-17M, GOSHEN, NY 10924, (845) 291-1998, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RECALL THE PART THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

SAME ISSUE WITH FUEL TANK DEFORMATION. OCTOBER 2018 WAS THE RECALL. ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO GREENWAY FORD HAD THE CAR FOR THE WHOLE DAY AND STATED THEY FIXED IT BUT NOW I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THE RECALL FIXING WAS INCOMPLETE AND THE RECALL STATES IT IS INCREASED RISK FOR A CRASH DUE TO STALLING OF THE ENGINE. SEPTEMBER 2017 SHIFTING CLUTCH FAILED AND WAS NOT INFORMED AUGUST 7 2017 TRANSMISSION SHUTTERING NOW THERE IS A FUEL TANK DEFORMATION THE CAR SHAKES ALOT

FOR OVER A YEAR OR SO I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY CAR SHUTTING OFF WHEN I'M LOW ON GAS. IT HAS STOPPED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, STRANDED ME ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND REFUSED TO START AT SERVICE STATIONS WHEN I'VE STOPPED TO GET GAS. I TOOK MY CAR TO JOE MYERS FORD IN AUGUST OR SEPTEMBER, 2019 BUT I COULDN'T LEAVE IT WHEN I PULLED AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP IT STOPPED ON THE FEEDER STREET OF THE FRWY. AND WOULD NOT START. I WAS STRANDED THERE FOR OVER 2 HOURS BEFORE THE CAR STARTED AGAIN AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. A FEW DAYS LATER I HAD IT TOWED TO JOE MYERS FORD. THEY COULDN'T GET TO IT FOR A MONTH OR LONGER SO I HAD TO GET IT TOWED BACK TO MY HOME. LATER IT WAS TOWED FROM MY HOME TO STERLING MCCALL FORD. I GOT THE CAR BACK AND IT STILL WOULD SHUT OFF WHEN I STOPPED OR SLOWED DOWN IN TRAFFIC ON A CITY STREET. IT WOULD JUST SHUT OFF. WHILE I'M DRIVING IT STARTS TO SPUTTER THEN CUT OFF BUT IT WON'T START FOR AWHILE AFTER THAT. THIS IS FRUSTRATING BECAUSE IT IS STILL HAPPENING OFF AND ON NOW FOR OVER A YEAR. I HAVE A 2 YEAR CHILD AND I AM REALLY AFRAID FOR OUR LIVES. I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT'S GOING TO JUST SHUT OFF OR NOT START AND IT IS REALLY DANGEROUS FOR ME AND MY CHILD. WHEN WE BOUGHT THIS CAR IT WAS NEW WITH 17 MILES ON IT IN FEBRUARY, 2017 BUT I AM SO AFRAID OF DRIVING IT. STERLING MCCALL CHECKED THE CAR OUT FOR ME AND TOLD ME THAT THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG BUT IT STILL CUTS OFF. PLEASE HELP ME.

WAS TOLD PCM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED TO LATEST CALIBRATION USING IDS RELEASE 99.05 OR HIGHER. WE FEEL THAT THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD REQUIRE A FIX BY FORD
