THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SHIFT FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR WHEN COLD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I NEED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ONTO A BUSY STREET WHEN THE CAR IS COLD. THE DIFFICULTY IN SHIFTING HAS LEFT ME VULNERABLE AS I CAN'T ACCELERATE AS I INTEND AND I AM IN DANGER OF COLLIDING WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC THAT EXPECTS ME TO ACCELERATE AT A REASONABLE RATE. *TR
2001 COBRA HAS BAD SYNCHROS AND A BAD GEAR. THE FORD DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE CAR HAD MORE THAN ONE BAD SYNCHRO AND 2ND GEAR WAS BAD. ONLY 20K MILES ON CAR. THE HEADLINER CAME DOWN AS WELL. *JB
ABOUT 6-8 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2001 FORD MUSTANG BULLITT MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AND HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED BECAUSE 3 GEAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE WITH EASE OR IT WOULD SLIP.. EVER SINCE THE SHIFTING OF GEARS HAS DETERIORATED.. ALSO THE REAR LEAKS FOR NO APPARENT REASON THE ACCESS NUT SEEMS TO COME LOOSE AND LEAK WITH OUT A CAUSE, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR NUT AND OIL WERE THE DRIVELINE MEETS THE REAR AXLE. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO PUT THE CAR IN 1ST OR IN REVERSE SOME TIMES AND WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN 1ST 2ND AND 3RD THE GEARS STICK OR SLIP. I HAD A NUMBER OF ISSUES SINCE DAY ONE WITH THIS CAR AND IT SPENT A LOT OF TIME IN THE SHOP THE FIRST TWO YEARS I OWED IT AND SAT FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR DUE TO MECHANICAL PROBLEM THERE AFTER. I WAS REAR ENDED ONCE WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN BECAUSE THE CAR SLIPPED OUT OF SECOND GEAR LUCKILY THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH TO ONLY LEAVE HIS LICENSE PLACE SCREWS IMPRINTED IN MY REAR BUMPER AND NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY HURT JUST STUNNED AND FRIGHTENED. *TR
2001 MUSTANG GT WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DISPLAYS AN EXTENDED-HARD-GRINDING SHIFT FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR ESPECIALLY AFTER MAKING A RIGHT TURN. ALSO WHEN CRUISING AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE TRANSMISSION MAKES A HESITANT CLANKING NOISE WHICH JERKS THE CAR SLIGHLTY IF ONE'S FOOT IS TAKEN OFF THE GAS PEDAL FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN CLANK AGAIN WHEN SPEED IS RESUMED WHEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN SOON AFTER PURCHASE OF THE NEW CAR AND STILL EXITS NOW WITH 48,000 MILES ON IT. * CB

THIS IS THE 2ND MUSTANG 5SPD TRANSMISSION I HAVE PURCHASED THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP AND FORD THAT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. CONCERNS OF VIBRATION FELT THROUGH THE SEATS,FLOOR,AND STEERING WHEEL WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS! BEING THE 2ND VEHICLE, I HAVE BEEN BATTLEING THE DEALERSHIP FOR A WHOLE YEAR AND HAVE JUST NOW BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTNITY TO MEET WITH A FORD REP.THE POBLEM HAS BEEN OVERSEEN BY A FORD TECH. TWICE WITH A REPLACEMENT OF DRIVESHAFT TWICE WHICH STILL HASN'T RESOLVED THE PROBLEM.I HAVE TESTIMONY FROM OTHR SERVICE REPS WITH OTHER DEALERSHIPS THAT STATE THEY FEEL THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR AND IT IS NOT THE TIRES!(VIBRATION THAT IS) ALSO MANGR. AND TECHS.AT A GOODYEAR TIRE SHOP.THE DEALERSHIP"S SHOP FOREMAN FELT THE ABNORMAL VIBRATION ON A TESTDRIVE WITH ME AND FELT IT WAS OUT OF THE ORDINARY,HOWEVER, HIS SERVICE MANGR. LATER WENT ON TEST DRIVE AND STATED THAT HE FELT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. ALSO THE FORD REP. TESTDROVE THE CAR AND STATED HE FELT NO PROBLEM EITHER!. THE CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED IN THE PAST YEAR OVER 9 TIMES FOR THE VIBRATION! SO THERE WAS A PRECEDENT ALREADY SET BEFORE THE FORD REP. GOT INVOLVED. MY CONCERN IS THAT I STILL HAVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS ANABNORMAL VIBRATION WHILE TRAVELING BETWEEN 65-75MPH ON HIGHWAY, IT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY ME, THE DEALERSHIP,AND FORD. THE VIBRATION KEEPS COMING BACK AND I HAVEBEEN TOLD BY REPUTABLE SOURCES THAT IT COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF ABNORMAL WEAR THAT CAN HAPPEN TO MY TIRES FROM THIS ABNORMAL VIBRATION I TOLD THIS TO FORD, MANY MONTHS AGO, SO THEY SWITCHED MY TIRES, INCLUDING THE BRAND(FROM GOODYEAR TO MICHELLINS)WHEN THE FORD REP. WAS ASKED THE QUESTION BY ME HOW IS IT THAT TH DEALER'S SHOP FOREMAN FELT THE ABNORMAL VIBRATION AND HE DIDN'T, HIS RESPONSE WAS THAT IT ALL ENDED WITH HIM NO MATTER WHO FOUND WHAT!!!THIS PROBABLY SEEMS VERY CONVOLUDED BUT I AM JUST EXPRESSING MY CONCERNS WITH REGARDS TO MY SAFETY ,AS WELL AS THE SAFETY OF MY FELLOW CONSUMERS. VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND DEALER REPLACED SOME PARTS OF TRANSMISSION. EVERY 3000 MILES TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING, THEN, GAUGE WAS STUCK WITH RPMS AT 3, NO MATTER IF VEHICLE WAS STOPPED OR DRIVING. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
THE VEHICLE HAS A SURGE/HESITATION IN OVERDRIVE BETWEEN 1200 AND 1600 RPM'S AND ALSO IN THIRD GEAR AT ABOUT 2000 RPM'S. DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT DO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A PROBLEM. DEALERSHIP ADMITS THAT FORD SERVICE REPS ARE AWARE OF OTHER CARS WITH SAME SYMPTOMS.

HAD MANUALLY SHIFTED VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND WAS ABOUT TO SET BRAKES WHENVEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL FORWARD. IT SEEMS TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF NEUTRAL INTO DRIVE.*AK
DIFFERENTIAL MAKES A POPPING NOISE WHEN TAKING OFF IN THE MORNINGS. *AK
