THE GOVERNOR FOR THE 90 MPH GOVERNOR WAS RECALLED BY THE CONSUMER AGENCY RESPONSIBLE FOR RECALLS. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT IT WAS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. I CALLED UPON FORD SEVERAL TIMES OVER A PERIOD OF YEARS, AS WELL AS WENT BY THE FORD SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT PERTAINING TO MY 1993 FORD RANGER. NOT UNTIL AFTER THE TRUCK BROKE AND WOULD NOT SHIFT DID FORD PRETEND TO FIX THE PROBLEM AS A RECALL, BUT, ALSO CHARGED 1000 DOLLARS. THE TRUCK DID NOT FILL LIKE IT WAS FIXED PROPERLY I APPROACHED THE LANDERS FORD COLLIERVILLE OF COLLIERVILLE TENNESSEE AND HE STATED IT WAS FIXED. THEY THEN TRIED TO SELL ME ANOTHER TRUCK. ANY WAY THE TRUCK DID NOT GO ANOTHER 500 MILES BEFORE BREAKING AND GETTING REAR ACCIDENT BY A HIT AND RUN DRIVER. FORD TOOK MY 1000 DOLLARS AND DID NOT FIX MY TRUCK AND ARE STILL IGNORANT TO THE DAY ABOUT MY TRUCK AND RECALL. I AM A COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVER AND IN THE PERIOD OF 11 YEARS HAVE NOT PUT BUT 57000 MILES AND DO NOT NEED A NEW TRUCK FROM FORD THEN OR NOW OR EVER WITH SUCH BUSINESS TACTICS. *TR
GAS PEDAL BROKE FREE FROM FIRE WALL ON INTERSTATE, LOST THROTTLE CONTROL. *AK
ACCELLERATOR PEDAL BRACKET BROKE LOOSE FROM FIREWALL ON INTERSTATE, LOSS OF THROTTLE CONTROL, DEALER HAD NO PRIOR REPORTS
ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKES TO DISINGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN BACK TO THE SPEED THAT WAS SET ON THE CRUISE CONTROL. *AK
VEHICLE WENT TO FULL THROTTLE WHEN SHIFTED INTO DRIVE GEAR. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT TURNED ON AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. FORD FACTORY SERVICE AND THE DEALER HAVE BEEN CONTACTED. DEALER HAS NO INFORMATION ON THIS FAILURE, BUT WILL TRY TO FIND OUT. DEALER HAS TEMPORARILY DISCONNECTED CRUISE CONTROL CABLE FROM THROTTLE FOR SAFETY PURPOSES UNTIL THE PROBLEM CAN BE RESOLVED. FORD HAS NOT RESPONDED TO MY COMPLAINT OTHER THAN TELL ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. I EXPECT THIS TO BE RESOLVED ASAP BY FORD THROUGH THEIR DEALER OR CONTACT ME DIRECTLY WITH RESOLUTION TO THIS SERIOUS LIFE THREATENING DEFECT. *AK
CONSUMER CANNOT DISENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL EVEN AFTER HE APPLIES BRAKES. THE AUTO RESUMES BACK UP TO 75 MPH AND OVER. *AK
WHEN STARTED UP AND PUT IN GEAR VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT FULL THROTTLE. DEALER WAS CONTACTED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY50 MPH AND HAD TO PASS INTO NEXT LANE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK TO THE FLOOR.CONSUMER HAD TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO STOP. *AK
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN, THROTTLE DOES NOT ALLOW ENGINE TO SLOW DOWN, REMAINS AT HIGH RPMS, HAVE TO SHIFT FROM 4TH OR 5TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR TO STOP VEHICLE. *AK
ENGINE RPM REMAINS AT HIGHWAY CRUISING SPEED AFTER THE ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED OR THE SPEED CONTROL IS DEACTIVATED.
VEHICLE THROTTLE STICKING, RESULTING IN HIGH SPEED. TT THROTTLE WILL STICK IN VERY COLD WEATHER CONDITION CAUSING VEHICLE TO RACE AT 6000 RPM, THE ONLY METHOD OF CONTROL IS TO SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN THUS DISABLING POWER STEERING AND BRAKES, AFTER VEHICLE HAS SAT FOR 5 TO 10 MINUTES ENGINE CAN BE RESTARTED.*JB
