ENGINE BURNING ANTIFREEZE, WHITE SMOKE OUT OF TAILPIPE, AFTER A TRIP TO THE MECHANIC SHOP,A FORD COMPANY DEALER NEAR ME. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM WITH THE V6 ENGINE MANUFACTURING DUE TO POOR METAL QUALITY FOR THIS PARTICULAR ENGINE CODE E. IN MUST CASES THE REPAIR INVOLVES ENGINE REPLACEMENT OR INSTALLING A RE MANUFACTURED CYLINDER HEAD AT A VERY HIGH COST. QUALITY OF THE WORKMANSHIP SEEMS VERY POOR. ENGINE MILEAGE 91K MILES WHICH IS NOT NORMAL FOR ENGINES TO FAIL AT SUCH A LOW MILEAGE.
THE ENGINE SPEED WILL NOT RETURN TO IDLE SPEED UNTIL THE VEHICLE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. IDLE SPEED 825RPM HOT 2000RPM COLD 1200RPM WHILE THE VEHICLE IS ROLLING THIS EVENT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE (MORE SO ON SLIPPERY ROADS) CONSTANT AND EXCESSIVE USE OF THE BRAKES.. I HAVE TOLD THIS TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE SAID THAT THIS IS A NORMAL CONDITION, THERE IS NO ADJUSTMENT. THEY SAY THAT THEY HAVE CHECKED INTO THE PROBLEM. *TR
