TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE DRIVESHAFT FLEXIBLE COUPLING FAILED AND CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION AND THE DRIVESHAFT TO FRACTURE. THE VEHICLE WENT AIR BORNE. THE CONTACT SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK, AND HEAD. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE KNEES, HEAD, HIP, NECK, AND BACK. BOTH RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT ADVISED THAT THE POLICE WAS NOT PRESENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BRIAN TOLIVER FORD (1040 GILMER ST, SULPHUR SPRING, TX 75482, PHONE (877) 800-3241), THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V767000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 230,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
VAN WILL MAKE A VIBRATING NOISE THAT IS NOT FELT THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL OR PEDALS AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH. IT WILL AGAIN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS 65+MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHIFTING IN AND OUT OF OVERDRIVE MAKE THE SAME AUDIBLE VIBRATION. LOCAL FORD DEALER ATTRIBUTED THIS TO A MANUFACTURER RECALL OF THE DRIVE SHAFT. DRIVESHAFT HAS BEEN REPLACED OR WORKED ON AT THREE DIFFERENT POINTS OF TIME OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. PROBLEM HAS NEVER BEEN FIXED. CURRENTLY AS OF 5-14-21 FORD DEALER HAS IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM TO BE THE TORQUE CONVERTER AT THE EXPENSE OF $4,000.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND WHILE CHANGING GEARS. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT TO FOUR GEAR, THE VEHICLE INSTEAD SHIFTED INTO FIFTH GEAR INADVERTENTLY. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED TWO MONTHS PRIOR UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V767000 (POWER TRAIN) AT PINES FORD (8655 PINES BLVD, PEMBROKE PINES, FL 33024). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,127.

THE DIFFERENTIAL HAS FAILED PREMATURELY AT 65000 MILES AFTER TWO DRIVESHAFT COUPLING RECALL REPAIRS

AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, IT WAS NOTICED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL SQUEAKING SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SCHULTZ FORD (80 NY-304, NANUET, NY 10954; (845) 624-3600) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR DRIVESHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR DRIVESHAFT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE HIGHWAY, DRIVER HEARD A LOUD POP AND SAW PIECES OF METAL IT THE ROADWAY. PULLED OVER AND OBSERVED PARTS OF METAL HANGING DOWN. VEHICLE TOWED TO SERVICE STATION. DRIVE SHAFT, TRANSMISSION, EMISSION LINES, BRAKE LINES AND NUMEROUS OTHER UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE OBSERVED. THIS VEHICLE HAD A RECALL ON 'SEPARATION OF THE DRIVESHAFT FROM THE TRANSMISSION' IN JUNE 2017. THIS VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL.
FOR MORE THEN 18 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE REPAIR/RECALL,(19S38) FROM MY LOCAL DEALER VENTURA FORD. STILL AFTER ALL THIS TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD 2 EXCUSES SEVERAL TIMES 1.) "THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.", AND 2.) "THAT THE REPAIRS WERE ALREADY DONE." I HAVE CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER (1-866-436-7332) TWICE THIS MONTH. EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HELFMAN IMPORTS (7720 KATY FWY STE B, HOUSTON, TX 77024) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED FROM THE DRIVE SHAFT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT THEN TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT SEPARATED AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V767000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,105.
THE VEHICLE HAD EXTREME VIBRATION AT ANY SPEED. THE VIBRATION WAS CONSTANT ACCELERATING, COASTING AND BRAKING.

THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY ALREADY SERVICED. HOWEVER AFTER 7,000 MILES, THE FAILURE HAD REOCCURRED AND THE DEALER (BLUEBONNET FORD LOCATED AT 351 I-35, NEW BRAUNFELS, TX 78130) REFUSED TO RE-SERVICE THE VEHICLE BEING THAT THE MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTED THAT THE NEXT REPAIR HAD TO BE COMPLETED AT 40,000 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
THE UNDERCARRIAGE STARTED TO MAKE A BANG BANG NOISE. THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL GARAGE. AT THAT TIME IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS UNDRIVABLE. THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT HAS DONE THE PREVIOUS REPAIRS ON THE COUPLER. THEY STATED THAT THE PERMANENT FIX WAS PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED AND THAT NO UPDATED PART WAS AVAILABLE AND THE FORD WAS NOT GOING TO COVER THE REPAIR. THIS SITUATION IS VERY UNSAFE. A FAILURE OF THIS KIND COULD EASILY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF LIFE. THE COUPLER DISINTEGRATED. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES.

THE CONTACT WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF $12,000 TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V408000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V103000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY WAITING TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BABBITT FORD LINCOLN (LOCATED AT 11 N VERDE ST, FLAGSTAFF, AZ 86001, (928) 774-5063) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COUPLING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V408000 (POWER TRAIN) IN AUGUST OF 2017. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE MAY BE DUE TO THE RUBBER COUPLING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,056.
I AM CALLING NUMEROUS TIMES TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO CORRECT THE DRIVESHAFT FLEXIBLE COUPLING REPLACEMENT' I AM WAS TOLD NUMEROUS TIMES THAT SOMEONE WILL GET BACK TO US. RECALL 17S15 / NHTSA 17V-408 REPAIR COMPLETED TO DRIVESHAFT REAR END FLEXIBLE COUPLING BY MULLINAX FORD OF MOBILE AL ON 7-23-2018 AT 76905 MILEAGE WARNING OF NOISE AND VIBRATION SAFETY ISSUES. ON 13 MAR 2019 LOUD WHINNING NOISE FROM REAR END BY MULLINEX FORD REQUIRED REAR END REBUILD FOR $368.32 PARTS AND $1545 LABOR, PLUS $109 DIAGNOSIS TO SOLVE NOISE ISSUE NOTED IN SAFETY RECALL. NOISE OCCURING ALWAYS BUT VERY LOUD HUMMING AT 55-70 MPH TOO LOUD TO TALK OR LISTEN TO RADIO...PAINFUL OVER AN HOUR DRIVE TIME.
THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS INVOLVED IN A RECALL WHICH FORD SAID THEY REPAIRED, NOW THE SAME PROBLEM IS BACK. THE DRIVE SHAFT MAKES A SERIOUS VIBRATION ESPECIALLY WHEN MOVING ALONG A FAIRLY LEVEL SURFACE WHERE THE ENGINE IS NOT DRIVING VERY STRONGLY. ESPECIALLY ON A HIGHWAY AT 35 TO 65 MPH. ALSO ESPECIALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COASTING ON A HIGHWAY, ESPECIALLY IN A GRADUAL TURN WHILE COASTING.
2015 FORD TRANSIT VAN. RECEIVED RECALL 17S15 IN JUNE, 2018. MULTIPLE CALLS TO FORD DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT TO HAVE RECALL FIX AND THEY SAY THEY ADD ME TO THE LIST AND WILL CALL ME BACK WHEN APPIONTMENTS AVAILABLE. DESPITE MULTIPLE REQUESTS I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT. FILED COMPLAINT WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY SAID DEALERS ARE INDEPENDENTLY OWNED AND THEY CANNOT CONTROL THEM.

FORD ISSUED RECALL 17S15 ON THE FLEXIBLE DRIVE SHAFT COUPLING, THEIR PERMANENT FIX HAS FAILED ON MY VEHICLE AFTER ONLY 45,000 MILES AND THEY HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND ARE REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT INCLUDING WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING AND ISSUE ANOTHER RECALL. ALSO AS PART OF THE RECALL SERVICE, THEY ARE REMOVING THE HOOPS THAT CATCH THE DRIVE SHAFT WHEN THE COUPLER SEPARATES MAKING THIS AN UNSAFE SITUATION LIKELY TO CAUSE ACCIDENTS. I HAVE ATTACHED A PICTURE SHOWING CRACKS IN MY "PERMANENT FIX" DRIVE SHAFT COUPLER AS WELL AS COPIES OF MY COMMUNICATION WITH FORD AND THEIR REFUSAL TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. FORD SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR KNOWINGLY PUTTING UNSAFE VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. *TT *TR
OUR TRANSIT VAN HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH SEVERE VIBRATION IN THE DRIVELINE SINCE ABOUT 25,000 MILES. OUR VAN IS SUBJECT TO RECALL 17S15. WE HAVE HAD THE "TEMPORARY FIX," (THE DRIVELINE FLEXIBLE COUPLING REPLACED) ON OUR VAN TWO TIMES AT YORK'S FORD IN HOULTON, MAINE: JULY 21, 2017 (MILEAGE 28,066) AND AGAIN ON OCTOBER 11, 2017 (MILEAGE 32,787) BUT IT HAS NOT FIXED THE SEVERE DRIVELINE VIBRATION. THE VIBRATION IS WORST AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65-73 MPH), AND WHEN GOING UP A HILL OR WHEN ACCELERATING. IT IS SO LOUD THAT IT SHAKES THE WHOLE VAN, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO HEAR THE RADIO OR HAVE A CONVERSATION. THE SOUND IS A VERY LOW FREQUENCY HUM, LIKE PUTTING YOUR HEAD INSIDE A SUBWOOFER. I WORRY THAT THE VIBRATION IS ALSO DAMAGING OTHER COMPONENTS, SUCH AS THE OUTPUT SHAFT BEARINGS IN THE TRANSMISSION, AND POSSIBLY THE ENGINE. ON NOVEMBER 7, 2017 I TOOK THE VAN TO A FORD DEALER IN INDIANA TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIX THE VIBRATION PROBLEM. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE CARRIER BEARING HOLDING THE DRIVESHAFT WAS LOOSE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET FORD TO OKAY THE REPAIR. I HAVE STOPPED DRIVING THE VAN EXCEPT FOR ESSENTIAL TRAVEL BECAUSE OF THE VIBRATION PROBLEM. FROM WHAT I HAVE GATHERED READING THE FORD TRANSIT USA FORUM, A PERMANENT FIX, INCLUDING A NEW DRIVESHAFT, UNIVERSAL JOINT, AND TRANSMISSION OUTPUT YOKE, HAS BEEN INSTALLED ON MANY OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES, BUT FOR SOME REASON FORD WILL NOT DO IT ON MINE. CAN YOU HELP?
WE CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT CHAPMAN FORD WE PROVIDED THE VIN NUMBER OF OUR VEHICLE AND THE CAMPAIGN NUMBER AND THEY TOLD US THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. FOR THE CAMPAIGN WE WERE REFERRING TO, THEY TOLD US THE PART WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED WHICH WOULD TAKE 3 WEEKS. WE SUBSEQUENTLY CALLED ANOTHER DEALER WHO TOLD US THEY COULD DO THE TEMPORARY REPAIR THE NEXT DAY. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT CHAPMAN FORD WAS TRYING TO AVOID DOING THE TEMPORARY REPAIR. THE VEHICLE IS OVER 30K MILES AND ACCORDING TO THE RECALL SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL THE TEMPORARY REPAIR IS DONE, HENCE THE URGENT NEED FOR THE TEMP REPAIR TO BE DONE TIMELY.
