The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and the ignition switch was replaced by an independent mechanic in 2015. The contact stated that the vehicle recently failed to start after several attempts. The vehicle restarted the following day; however, the failure recurred increasingly. The contact purchased a new programmed key for the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the that the failure was not related to the ignition key. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
A/C DRAIN LEAKED CONDENSATION ONTO MY ECU AND COMPLETELY SHORTED IT OUT. CAR STOPPED RUNNING.
WHEN CRUISE CONTROL IS PRESSED THE MAIN CRUISE LIGHT COMES ON LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BUT THEN WHWN YOU PRESS THE AET BUTTON NOTHING TAKES PLACE.THE LIGHT BLINKS ON FOR 1 SECOND BUT THAT IS THE END OF THAT.I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THE CRUISE CONTROL WIRE CABLE IS HANGING IN MID AIR ABOUT 3INCHES AWAY FROM THROTTLE BODY.IT STILL HAS THE SMALL BARREL ON THE END OF THE CABLE FOR ATTACHING TO SOMETHING.
ACTUATOR ON DRIVERS DOOR DOES NOT WORK.ALSO KEY WILL NOT OPEN DOOR EITHER.KEY WORKS ON TRUNK AND STARTS CAR BUT WILL NOT OPEN DRIVERS SIDE DOOR.IF DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS UNLOCKED KEY FOB WILL UNLOCK AND LOCK THE OTHER THREE DOORS.IF THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS LOCKED THE KEY FOB WILL NOT OPEN OR LOCK THE OTHER THREE DOORS
THE REAR POWER WINDOW SWITCHES ARE NOT WORKING THE WINDOWS ARE NOT GOING UP OR DOWN...
NON WORKING FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR WINDOWS. TRY TO ROLL OTHERS 3 WIDOWS DOWN YOU CAN HEAR THE SWITCH CLICK AT THE SWITCH ON THE DOOR YOU ARE TRYING AT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE STATIONARY, THE KEYS BECAME VERY HOT AFTER BEING REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BUTTONS ON THE KEY FOBIKS BECAME INOPERABLE AND NEITHER OF THE IGNITION KEYS WOULD START THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
MY FRONT PASSENGER POWER WINDOW AND THE TWO BACK WINDOWS HAVE STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. THEY CANNOT BE OPENED. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE HONDA ACCORDS. IT IS DANGEROUS. THEY JUST STOPPED ONE DAY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE ON-OFF SWITCH BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
HONDA STRUNG ME A LONG FOR TWO YEARS, RESETTING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO CLEAR THE ENGINE LIGHT EACH TIME IT WAS BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICE. SINCE THOSE TWO YEARS THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED ON MY HYBRID BATTERY, WHICH COST $3500 OR MORE TO REPLACE. IT IS THEIR PRODUCT, AND KNEW THE PROBLEM WAS TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. THEY SCAMMED MY SO NOW IM STUCK WITH A USELESS CAR. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN AGREE TO ASSIST ME IN BUYING ANOTHER ONE.
WITHOUT NOTICE OR CAUSE THE PASSENGER WINDOW AND BOTH BACK SEAT SEAT WINDOWS STOP RESPONDING TO THE POWER CONTROLS. THIS CAUSED THE THREE WINDOWS TO NOT OPEN, AND HAS BEEN CONSISTENT SINCE IT ORIGINALLY HAPPENED OVER A MONTH AGO.
RADIO, INCLUDING CD, ON 2005 HONDA ACCORD WILL TURN ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY FOR NO REASON WHILE CAR IS PARKED AND LOCKED WITH NO KEY IN IGNITION. IF RADIO VOLUME IS HIGH AND/OR CD WAS ON WHEN CAR WAS TURNED OFF, THIS WILL DRAIN THE BATTERY, ESPECIALLY IF THE CD PLAYER COMES ON. SEVERAL TIMES THIS KILLED THE BATTERY. WORKAROUND SOLUTION - MAKE SURE VOLUME IS AT ZERO AND RADIO IS OFF BEFORE PARKING CAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND OPINION, WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 114,000.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
CAR SAT FOR 3 WEEKS IN THE WINTER OF 2013. I WAS ON MATERNITY LEAVE. I LEFT FOR MY FIRST DAY OF WORK AND MY BATTERY WAS DEAD. I REPLACED THE BATTERY. ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WAS A DOMINO EFFECT. RADIO DOESN'T WORK. IT CIRCLES THROUGH FM1 FM2 AND AM ABOUT 3 TIMES BEFORE IT RESTS ON AM. NONE OF MY WINDOWS ROLL DOWN EXCEPT MY DRIVERS SIDE. I'VE CHECKED ALL FUSES.... I'VE REPLACED THE MASTER WINDOW SWITCH AND NOTHING... SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE BUT NO ONE SAYS HOW TO FIX IT OR WHY IT HASN'T BEEN ISSUED AS A RECALL. ALSO MY DISK CHANGER HAPPENED TO EAT MY CD AND WONT CYCLE THROUGH AUX OR CD AT ALL. I'VE TAKEN THIS CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP.. THEY TOLD ME TO REPLACE THE MASTER SWITCH AND I DID... WHICH WAS VERY EXPENSIVE AND IT DID NOTHING BUT COST ME MORE MONEY BECAUSE NOW MY AUTO KEY LOCKS WONT RESPOND. IM PISSED. *TR
THE BACK LIGHT WHERE THE RADIO IS KEEPS COMING IN AND OUT. THE RADIO WOULD WORK, AND THEN NOT WORK. I CAN BE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SONG AND IT WILL GO OFF. I CAN ALSO BE SILENT AND IT GO ON. THE LIGHT WITH NO LETTERS WOULD STAY ON THE WHOLE TIME. WHEN I WANTED THE RADIO TO SOUND I WOULD HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND CONNECT IT BACK UP. AT THIS POINT I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE RADIO. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THE 2005 RADIO, BUT THERE IS FOR THE 2003-2004. IF ITS THE SAME RADIO AND PEOPLE ARE HAVING TO REPLACE A RADIO THAT SHOULD WORK, THEN WHY IS THERE NO RECALL. I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER OF A 2005 HONDA ACCORD THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO. I REPLACED THE FUSE THINKING IT WAS THIS. IT WORKS FOR A WHILE AND THEN I REALIZED THAT THE FUSES WHERE NO BLOWN. PLEASE HAVE THIS AS A RECALL AND THE PEOPLE AT HONDA ARE NOT VERY HELPFUL EVEN WHEN THEY ADMIT TO HAVING OTHER OWNERS COME IN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THERE ARE NO ANY ILLUMINATING LIGHTS ON FOR RADIO AND A/C BACK LIGHTS WHEN WE TURNED ON THE HEAD LIGHT. IT WAS REPORTED SAME ISSUE FOR 2003 AND 2004 HONDA ACCORD, AND HONDA OFFER 7 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES EXTEND WARRANTY. WE ARE NOT SURE HOW MANY THIS CASES FOR 2005 HONDA ACCORD. IT IS REALLY A BIG FLAW RELATED OUR SAFETY, BUT WE DID NOT KNOW THAT AT ALL WHEN WE BOUGHT IT. LET ME MAKE IT CLEAR: OUR CAR IS 2005 ACCORD LX HAS 53,000 MILES ON IT, HAS BEEN 8 YEARS SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. WHEN HEAD LIGHT IS ON, ITS RADIO AND A/C BACK LIGHT IS DARK. *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC GAUGE MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
RADIO MAKES POPPING SOUND AND SHUTS OFF WHEN AC IS ON AND VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN UNTIL IT IS TURNED BACK ON PROBLEM IS INCREASING WITH USE. RADIO HAS HAD TURNED OFF AN ON MULTIPLE TIMES AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY DURING THE WEEK. RADIO IS EXTREMELY HOT ON FRONT FACE PLATE. *JS
HELLO, I AM VERY UPSET/CONCERNED BECAUSE I HAVE AN 2005 HONDA ACCORD. I KNOW MULTIPLE PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT YEARS OF AN ACCORD ALONG WITH ONE PERSON WITH AN 05. WE ARE ALL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH OUR WINDOWS ROLLING UP AND DOWN. I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS ISSUE SINE 2010, AND BROKE DOWN AND PAID FOR THE REPAIR TODAY. THE MAIN SWITCH WENT OUT IN THE CAR. THE MAIN WINDOW WORKS BUT THE REST OF THE WINDOWS DON'T WORK. WHY IS THIS NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL? SEVERAL PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I DON'T FEEL LIKE I SHOULD OF PAID FOR THE REPAIR TODAY, HOWEVER I HAD NO CHOICE. I THINK THAT THIS IS SOMETHING HONDA NEEDS TO LOOK INTO, ALSO THE FACTORY STEREOS. INSTRUMENT LIGHTS IN PANEL FOR HVAC/AUDIO SYSTEM ARE NOT LIT. ONE NIGHT THEY STOPPED WORKING. EXACT SAME ISSUE AS THIS: MAKE: HONDA MODEL: ACCORD YEAR: 2005 COMPLAINT NUMBER: 10241768 SUMMARY: THE AUDIO UNIT DISPLAY LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TURNED ON. THE RADIO DIAL, CLOCK, AND HVAC CONTROL SWITCHES ARE NOT LIT. THE ONLY LIGHT ON IN THE AREA IS THE SMALL GREEN LIGHT SHOWING WHICH HVAC BUTTON HAS BEEN SELECTED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS DO LIGHT UP ARE CONTROLLABLE WITH THE DIMMER SWITCH. THIS PROBLEM CAME ON SUDDENLY - ONE NIGHT THEY WORKED WHEN I TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND THE NEXT NIGHT THEY DID NOT WORK. SO FAR THIS IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM. I HAVE CHECKED THE FUSES; NONE WERE BLOWN. AS A DRIVER I CAN COPE WITH THE PROBLEM THIS TIME OF THE YEAR, BUT AS WINTER SETS IN AND THE WINDSHIELD NEEDS TO BE CLEARED OF INTERIOR FOG WITH THE DEFROSTER I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE WHICH CONTROL TO HIT CREATING AN UNSAFE SITUATION. THIS WAS/IS A PROBLEM WITH EARLIER MODEL YEARS (2003-2004) OF THIS MODEL RUN. IN 2007 HONDA ISSUED A 7 YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY EXTENSION LETTER FOR THESE YEARS. THERE IS ALSO A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THESE REPAIRS. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS 05V132000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM;USES CIRCUIT BREAKERS) AND 07V097000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE;DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP) WERE DISCOVERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS, ALTHOUGH THE FAILURES WERE IDENTICAL. CURRENTLY, THE FUSE BOX IS BEING REPLACED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 60,000.
