The car will suddenly have a high-pitched screaming coming from the speakers for no apparent reason with no way to stop the noise. Turning the sound system to zero volume or even turning the power to the radio off does not stop the noise. I have measured the decibel level between 80 -128 decibels with no way to make it stop. I have had to stop the vehicle on the freeway multiple times and turn off the car engine for 15-20 minutes to make it stop. I have recorded the sounds if anyone is interested in hearing them I tried to upload a file but it wouldn't let me an Mp4 file. Honda swears they have never received this complaint before but my google search shows this is a known problem that costs between 2K - 4K to fix. This is a hazard and needs to be recalled. Please help. I paid 35K for this vehicle. I've been dealing with this issue for over 4 years. and I believe my hearing is becoming impaired because of this issue.
While driving, both the digital instrument cluster and the center infotainment screen will randomly freeze, become completely unresponsive, or shut off entirely. This occurs without warning and while the vehicle is in motion. When the instrument cluster freezes or turns off, critical driving information such as speed, warning indicators, fuel level, and other safety alerts are no longer visible. Additionally, when the infotainment screen becomes unresponsive, I lose access to functions such as navigation, backup camera display (when reversing), and vehicle settings. These failures create a significant safety concern because they remove essential driving information and features while the vehicle is being operated. The issue happens intermittently and does not appear to be tied to a specific driving condition. Restarting the vehicle may temporarily resolve the issue, but the problem continues to reoccur. Given that modern vehicles rely heavily on digital displays for critical operational information, this malfunction poses a clear safety risk.
While driving, the vehicle intermittently emits an extremely loud, high-pitched static or screeching noise through the speakers. The sound is sudden, piercing, and startling. Most concerning, this occurs even when the audio system volume is turned completely off. Because the noise is so loud and unexpected, it causes a significant distraction while operating the vehicle. The sound is comparable to an ear-piercing static burst and can make it difficult to concentrate on the road. There is no warning before it occurs, and lowering or muting the volume does not prevent it. This issue has happened multiple times and does not appear to be connected to a specific audio source (radio, Bluetooth, etc.). Given the intensity of the noise and the fact that it cannot be controlled by adjusting the volume, I believe this poses a potential safety risk.
I unlocked my car using the buttons on my key. I put my my purse along with my phone and my key in the car and I close the door and went to the trash to throw away an empty cup. When I got back to my car 2 minutes later the car relocked itself with my purse my phone and the keys in the car.
There is loud static noise coming from the radio that’s affecting all the speakers even when the radio is powered off the static is there, I checked online and found that a 2017 Honda Accord that’s experiencing the same issues. The sounds is absolutely nerve wrecking it triggered my autistic son that he no longer wants to ride in the vehicle because of the noise.
This 2017 Honda Accord has recently been making very loud static noises from the speakers. It gets so loud and the only way to turn it off is to turn off the engine and restart. The static noise always comes back though, so this is clearly a safety issue. On youtube, there are many people saying this same issue. I cannot upload my video, so here is one example: [XXX] My static is twice as loud as the one on this video. Thank you. I have a 2017 Honda Accord that the back up camera is not working. I sent an incident report previously. I see the 2017 back up camera has a recall. How can I get my camera repaired? The broken camera did cause an accident.
Honda Service Bulletin 21-018 extends the warranty on 2018-2020 Honda Accords for the A/C condenser to 10 years from the original date of purchase with unlimited miles. This afternoon, I paid over $1,700 to the dealer for a fully diagnosed and repaired condenser replacement. Given the near-identical failure mechanism and that the faulty condensers in question are likely from the same production-era manufacturing process, I respectfully request that Honda consider extending the same 10-year, unlimited-mileage warranty coverage to affected 2017 Accord models.
I am writing to formally raise a serious safety concern regarding a known and recurring defect in the infotainment/head unit system of my 2017 Honda Accord. Like many other Honda owners, I am experiencing unpredictable and extremely loud static or popping sounds through the speakers, which occur without warning while the vehicle is in operation. This issue significantly compromises vehicle safety. The sudden, blaring static drowns out critical audio alerts such as collision warnings, lane departure signals, and other safety-related notifications, placing me and others at increased risk while driving. Upon bringing this issue to a certified Honda dealership, I was informed that the head unit cannot be disconnected, as it is integrated with the vehicle’s essential safety features. In other words, I am forced to choose between enduring a hazardous and disruptive audio malfunction or disabling key safety systems entirely—an unacceptable situation for any driver, particularly in a vehicle marketed as reliable and safe. Furthermore, I was advised that the only known solution is a full replacement of the head unit, which comes at a cost of approximately $1,800 out of pocket. It is deeply concerning that Honda is expecting customers to bear the cost of repairing a defect that is both widespread and clearly rooted in manufacturing or design flaws. Given the scope and severity of this issue, I urge Honda to take immediate and responsible action by issuing a recall or providing an extended warranty repair for all affected vehicles. I am requesting a formal response regarding how Honda plans to resolve this matter in my case and ensure the safety of its customers moving forward.
There is a A/C Condenser Leak on the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid similar to the ones that happened on the Honda Civics of this time period. The Honda Civics got extended warranties for the Condenser Leaks, but the Honda Accords did not. Please add the Honda Accords from 2017 and the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrids to the Recall List needing Extended Warranties and Technical Service Bulletins on the Leaks in the A/C Condensers that Honda should cover, extend the Warranty and fix. Thanks.
Car speakers makes unbearable loud static noise even after audio is turned off .
After driving for about 20 -30 minutes there is a very, very loud noise that appears to come from the stereo speakers (even if the stereo system isn’t on). It is so loud that I do not hear emergency personnel coming. It has been several occasions that an accident is almost caused because of not being able to hear police or ambulance sirens. It just started happening out of nowhere. I have all factory equipment on the vehicle so I’m not sure why this is happening. Honda really need to fix this before there are fatalities.
LOUD crackling static noise coming from all stereo speakers randomly. Nothing can stop this loud static noise, except by pulling over off the road and restarting the vehicle. This happens randomly and does not matter whether you are using bluetooth or not using bluetooth, plugged in charging using USB or listening to music on phone with USB. The radio can be completely shut off and nothing playing or plugged in and it will start with decibels so loud it is dangerous to adults and children's hearing and again can only be stopped by pulling off the road and restarting the vehicle, the silence of static may only last a few minutes to an hour but will start again every single time I drive my 17 Accord. There are many forums out there with 17 Honda Accord owners having the same issue. I believe Honda has addressed the Pilot, Odyssey, ridgeline etc. models for infotainment problems, but I really think they should address the 2017 Accord also, this is impossible to drive this Accord to anywhere of distance.
Loud static noise from audio after car turned on for around 5 minutes. This is very unsafe to drive and can't hear anything surrounding when driving. I also searched online and youtube and also found lot of car owners of Honda Accord 2016, 2017 have similar issues. I also brought car to dealerships but they couldn't find the issue. This issues have been started since June 2024 until now unsolved. Can't upload any files since this is audio static noise issue. Please help us.
My speakers randomly make this EXTREMELY loud static and even with volume off it doesn’t stop. It’s very distracting and hard to focus on driving while it’s going on! This has been happening almost everyday! Then it stops whenever it decides to! Sometimes for an hour!
Radio emits loud static, on or off. Sometimes starts low and builds to high volume, sometimes full blast without warning. Cannot be silenced without stopping car and turning off. Dangerous especially in traffic. Honda defect reporting phone line acted as if they never heard such a thing, same from the service manager where the car was purchased new. Different honda dealer service manager said same. I told him online forums were loaded with reports just like mine. I asked him to take out his phone and search 2017 honda accord radio static....he said yeah I guess there alot of reports of this issue. I made one last at my original dealership to see if there was a recall in the works for the defective radio head. New from honda 2300 dollars just for the part. Definitely a safety Hazzard from a defective part. Problem is so pervasive multiple repair services have sprung up for this series of radios. All told cost me 500 dollars to do myself. Radio head has many functions including back up camera which is gone with fuse pulled. Honda lied to me when they acted as if they never heard of such failures. Last service manager admitted we change a couple of these radio heads a week.
The ABS/VSA module system malfunctioned/failed. Based on information on online forums and the independent service center I utilized…this has happened before with the 9th generation Honda Accords. As a result, there were issues with acceleration and, in particular, braking which created safety hazard. There were warning lights that went on and off at various times (inconsistently) which first appeared 2 months ago.
Infotainment system sends out massive distortion, crackling and popping noises through all of the car, audio speakers. Extremely loud and will even happen when you have pushed the power off button to the audio system. Car is undrivable. It’s so loud and could see someone being startled on the highway when this starts. It’s very frequent in hot weather and can stop and start very suddenly. This is all original Honda parts. No modifications.
Past couple weeks, there is loud static noise coming from speaker after 15 to 20 minutes drive. It is impossible to stop and it is so loud that affects the driving, and easily causing accident if the driver not calming down. Sometime there is noise coming from the back amplifier, even I shut down the audio system.
BACKUP CAMERA SHOWS BLACK WHEN CAR PUT IN REVERSE. IS THIS THE SAME PROBLEM AS RECALL FOR 2018 HONDA ACCORD?
Backup camera failed. Honda is keeping cheap quality backup cameras that are failing easily. I have seen 1.2 million cars recalled for back up camera issues. My vehicle back up camera not working properly. Very frequently it shows black screen. It works some times and does not work sometimes. This is a serious safety issue. Honda should take responsibility for this. My car model is 2017 honda accord.

The audio entertainment system malfunctions and randomly makes extremely loud static noises, squealing, beeping, thumping and bass sounds, from all speakers. These noises can't be controlled or stopped, as they happen even when the audio is turned off. The noises are extremely unpleasant, uncomfortable, and loud enough to cause hearing loss. The noises happen randomly and startle the driver which can lead to accidents. The only way to stop the noises is to turn off the car, requiring the driver to pull over suddenly when the noise becomes unbearable, and often must turn off the car when stopped at red lights which is very dangerous. The dealer confirmed that Honda is aware of this problem, that the only remedy is to completely replace the audio entertainment system, and that the units are on back order and unavailable. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem, it just suddenly occurs. The noise began suddenly about two months ago, and has become increasingly louder and more frequent, to the point of happening every time the vehicle is operated and almost constantly while being operated.
While driving on September 6, 2023 I sunroof exploded and had glass everywhere. I almost killed myself. Very very dangerous and Honda should be held accountable (Sunroof glass Exploded)
Backup camera only shows a blank/black screen.
