Dashboard showing brake system issue. See dealer. Took it to dealer they advised changing brake sensor
Car says “brake system problem, brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer” and then another one saying “brake hold system problem. Apply brake when stoped. See your dealer” and another one that says “Electric parking brake system problem. Parking brake not available. See your dealer.” And I know quite a few people with accords that are having this issue as well!
I was driving on the freeway and suddenly my ABE brake activated and I was almost being hit in the back . It was happening many times in the past but when I brought the attention to the Honda dealer and it said nothing was wrong with it
The contact owns a 2021 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The braking system warning light was illuminated. The failure had occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken back to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 77,156.
Brake noise from rear whenever backing out. After several visits to Space Coast Honda was assured it is nothing. Because it is getting worse and braking involved, I am concerned. This began with purchase of vehicle and continues today. Wrote letter to American Honda Motor Co in July of 2023 but never received a response.
On four occasions I was required to slam in my brakes to avoid hitting a car in front of me on major highways in Virginia. When engaging the brakes the antilock brakes did not engage, the idle system (such as when you come to a red light and brake cuts the engine idle) kicked in and I lost the ability to steer. I had to release the brake for the idle to re-engage then hit the brake again. I finally was able to stop but left approximately 6 feet of skid marks on the highway. I have reported this to my dealership for them to say brakes are performing as designed and they did nothing. My car has been at the dealership for 2 weeks and I’m driving a loaner. Rear brakes have high pitch noise when backing up but dealership said they can’t recreate it therefore will do nothing. I had one service manager say he did recreate the noise and was fighting to get rear brakes replaced but then called back to say “I misspoke and Honda did not hear the noise so not replacing rear brakes. All phone messages are recorded on my cell phone. I have filed a complaint with Honda Corporate and also called local law enforcement to see where liability falls if my brakes fail again and I hit someone (faulty equipment charge). Was informed by police to have all service orders in the car to confirm I did all I could to get my brakes fixed. So three trips to dealership, almost 4 accidents, and car has approximately 24k miles on it. No idea if this is a sensor problem or several interactions between all the different systems but this is a major problem. Your engine shouldn’t cut off and cause steering problems when you brake the car and are still moving forward. No one can give me options with this car other then trade it in and get something else. This is not acceptable. Someone could be seriously injured. I don’t want to be that driver.
My vehicle has less than 5,000 miles. My vehicle has been running fine for the last 5 months; however, I got back into my car and heard my rear right brake, on the passenger side, making a grinding sound. It appears that the break pad is worn out and grinding on the rotor, or the brake module is faulty and has been forcing additional pressure on the rotor to create and untimely wear. The grinding is so strong, it is making it unsafe to drive under normal conditions. No warning lamps or indicators are on. Warranty inspection is scheduled. There are other reports of this issues with other owners. The vehicle has not been in an accident, modified, or driven in any manner other than normal driving. Additionally, when it is raining, the auto brake feature may turn on and slow the vehicle quickly when it is not necessary.
My car randomly slams on the breaks with no one/nothing in front of me! I’ve reported this to the dealership multiple times. This last time it occurred it brought me to a complete stop in the middle of the road.
My car is not even 1 year old and I have been having problems with my rear brakes. They squeak or grind when I am in reverse and with my foot on the brake pedal to back out of a parking spot or drive way etc. I have taken it to the dealership, Right Honda-Scottsdale Az, 3 different times. They said they could not reproduce the sound. The service guy on my first visit said that if it continues they should replace rear brake pads and deglaze the rotars.Never happened. Left it there overnight, at Honda Corps direction, again the same thing. I spoke with Patrick at Honda and I sent him an email with a video of the sound from outside the car as well as inside. He got back to me last week and basically said there is nothing they can do. I have taken it to a car repair place that I have been going to for 30 years and showed them the video and they said that in there opinion the pads should be changed and rotors deglazed. I explained that to Patrick from Honda and he said they would not do that since they are not sure it would work. Asked him what they would do and he attributed it to either weather etc. Told him I have had at least 10 accords and never had this problem. The car is less than a year old with just 10000 miles on it, less when I first took it there. Really not sure what the issue is but it is very concerning since it concerns my brakes.I have tried to upload the video but I cannot. You can email me and I can attach it.
