08/31/2015 I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM GANLEY WESTSIDE IMPORTS, 25580 LORAIN AVE., NORTH OLMSTED, OH 44070, 440-734-2000 IN NOVEMBER 2014 WITH THIS RECALL OUTSTANDING. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD ORDER THE PART. I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN JANUARY 2015 AND WAS TOLD MY NAME WASN'T EVEN IN THE SYSTEM BUT HE WOULD ORDER THE PART. I CALLED AGAIN ON MAY 18, 2015, AND WAS TOLD THE PART WAS STILL BACK ORDERED.

THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED TEN TO FIFTEEN MINUTES AFTER THE INCIDENT. AFTER EXPERIENCING THE FAILURE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V37000 (AIR BAGS) AND 15V320000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS. DUE TO THE FAILURE ALREADY BEING EXPERIENCED, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE RECALL REMEDIES WERE DECLINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
SRS LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON. I HAVE RESET IT A NUMBER OF TIMES BUT IT WILL GO ON AGAIN AFTER A FEW DAYS OR WEEKS. THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON. I AM SURPRISED THAT THIS IS NOT A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. FROM REVIEWING THE COMPLAINTS, THE DEALERS ANSWERS OR GUESSES AS TO WHAT'S WRONG ARE TOO NUMEROUS TO LIST HERE AND THE COST JUST TO INVESTIGATE IS JUST TOO HIGH. THERE IS SOMETHING OBVIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS SYSTEM AND HONDA NEEDS TO SERIOUSLY ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.

I WAS INFORMED BY AMERICAN HONDA MY VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE SERVICED FOR AIRBAGS IN OCT. 2014. I TOOK MY HONDA ON 10/29/14 TO BE SERVICED. WHEN I SHOWED UP I WAS INFORMED IT WAS NOT THERE FOR SERVICE AS THEY PREVIOUSLY STATED, BUT TO BE INSPECTED. THEY INFORMED ME I NEEDED A PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG & THEY WOULD BE IN TOUCH W/ ME. IT HAS BEEN WELL OVER 60 DAYS NOW & NOTHING FROM HONDA OF OCALA. *JS
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING OUR HONDA CIVIC 2003 AND REAR-ENDED A VEHICLE. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE AIR BAGS HAD BEEN SERVICED BY A HONDA DEALERSHIP IN 2014 DUE TO THE TAKATA RECALL. SO, I RECEIVED THE HONDA SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FOR THE AIRBAGS AND BROUGHT MY 2003 CIVIC TO BE SERVICED. AFTER IT WAS COMPETE, I NOTICED THAT THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS STILL ILLUMINATED ON MY DASH. I WENT BACK TO SPEAK WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THE WOMAN SAID THAT LIGHT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL! HOW ABSURD IS THAT?! THERE'S A DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE FOR FIGURING OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. WHY ISN'T THIS PART OF THE RECALL, HONDA?!?!

THERE WAS A MASSIVE RECALL ON AIRBAGS AND MY CAR IS INVOLVED IN IT. I'M FILING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET THE AIRBAGS REPLACED SINCE I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER.
WE SAW A NEWS REPORT ABOUT THE AIR BAG RECALLS FOR THESE VEHICLES IN LATE SUMMER LAST YEAR. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHEN OUR SRS LIGHT CAME ON TO SEE IF OUR VEHICLE WAS PART OF THE TAKATA-BRAND AIRBAG RECALL. WHEN WE CALLED, THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. WE RESET THE SRS COMPUTER. WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY PAPERWORK STATING THERE EVER WAS SUCH A RECALL. WHILE OUT RUNNING ERRANDS ON 01/31/2015 WE HEARD A NEWS REPORT ABOUT A PRIOR RECALL FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAGS DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. OUR SRS LIGHT IS BACK ON AFTER A COUPLE OF COMPUTER RESETS WITHOUT A CODE EVER PULLING UP ON THE VEHICLE. WHEN WE GOT HOME WE DECIDED TO DO A RECALL CHECK BY VIN ON HONDA'S WEBSITE. THE VEHICLE HAS INCOMPLETE RECALL FROM 06/19/2014. THE CALL NUMBER IS 14V-351. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHEN IT COMES TO SAFETY: 1. FOR NOT BEING NOTIFIED OF A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS RECALL, 2.FOR BEING LIED TO ABOUT THE RECALL WHEN CALLING THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. WE ARE GOING TO TRY GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH A COPY OF THE ONLINE SEARCH USING THEIR SYSTEM ON MONDAY 02/02/2015. HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET SOME ANSWERS, BUT OUR PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
