Airbag light came on intermittently. Had module and something else replaced by McCarthy Honda in Overland Park, KS.
Randomly the passenger airbag indicator light comes on and a notification to check airbag
I was in a car accident, I rear ended a vehicle. The other vehicle was stopped, I did not break at all and ran into them. My airbags did not deploy & there was substantial damage to my vehicle (deemed totaled by insurance assessor). My safety was put at risk as I sustained whiplash (whiplash resulted in neck pain day(s) following and bruising on my upper legs. When the assessor reached out to me, he stated that the air bags should have deployed and seemed to be a malfunction.
We purchased the car in April 2023. Before we got home, the airbag warning light came on. The dealer agreed to repair the issue. Now, the airbag warning light is coming on fairly regularly. What should we do?
Unknown The warning on my digital screen is off then comes back on after a few minutes of driving. It happens every time for the past week.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and a diagnostic test was performed. The diagnostic showed that the vehicle had a faulty front driver’s side air bag inflator. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but the contact was informed that the vehicle warranty had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 45,452.
On 9/30/2022 My son was driving his car on the freeway. The truck in front of him slammed on their brakes suddenly. My son slammed on his brakes but slid into the back of the truck in front of him. The car sustained moderate front end damage and was not able to be driven. The airbags do not deploy and a "airbag malfunction" light came on in his car. My son sustained only minor injuries and did not require medical assistance. I spoke with Honda regarding the malfunction light and the airbags nor deploying and was told that was normal which does NOT seem right.
On 10/15/2022 our 2015 Honda Civic Coupe vehicle was in a front end collision at 70 mph. NONE of the airbags deployed. The vehicle is at my insurance company wrecking yard and would be available for inspection, if needed. My 16 year old son had injuries including a concussion and whiplash due to the air bags not deploying. The police, firefighters, paramedics, hospital doctors, and my insurance company ALL say that the airbags should have absolutely deployed. There were no warning lamps or messages that alerted us there was any concern before the accident.
The contact owned a 2015 Honda Civic. The contact stated that as her son was merging onto a highway at 25 MPH, an SUV sideswiped the vehicle which sent the vehicle into a tailspin. As the vehicle continued to spin, her son lost all control of the vehicle as the rear bumper hit a cement barrier. The airbags did not deploy upon impact. Her son was cut out of the vehicle to the accident; however, he did not sustain any injuries or need medical attention. A police report was filed at the scene. The vehicle was destroyed due to the accident and was towed to an independent tow yard. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000
I was leaving work hopped into my car and started driving. About 20 minutes of being on the road my passenger seat airbag deployed and the roof curtain one for passenger side as well. I got out of my car to inspect for damage found none. The only lights on the dash were the airbag light. I am planning to take it to Honda and file a claim the body shop said it's an expensive repair, but I did nothing wrong.
Intermittent warning light for problem with air bag. The light comes on and can stay on for a while, then it will go out and stay off for a while. I don't know if there is a problem with the air bag or with the light.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the airbag warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer where she was informed that the front driver’s side airbag was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
AIRBAG LIGHT INTERMITANTLY COMES ON FOR PAST TWO YEARS. ISSUE STARTED AT 50,000 MILES. DEALER SAID IT IS A CLOCK SPRING OR AIRBAG ISSUE WITH A $1400 REPAIR COST.
DURING 2019, THE AIRBAG SRS CODE B0001-13 APPEARED. I MADE 2 VISITS TO WALSER HONDA IN BURNVILLE. MN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. DEC. 2ND I WAS CHARGED $79.26 AND DEC. 16, 2019 $148.51. THEY REPLACED THE REEL CABLE IN THE SYSTEM, BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM OF THE ERROR MESSAGE LISTED ABOVE. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 6, 2020 BECAUSE THE SAME WARNING LIGHT IS ON NON-STOP. I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE SRS UNIT FOR $1100. THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO PARTICIPATE YET I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $500 DEDUCTIBLE. HONDA'S AUTO TOUCHLINE COMMUNITY NOTES THAT MY CAR ISN'T THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS AIRBAG SENSOR PROBLEM.@MARSHALL SIDDONS "HAVE SEEN QUITE A FEW OF THESE CARS - '12-'14 CIVICS (NOT SURE IF I'VE EVER SEEN A '15 THOUGH)SINCE THE CARS WERE NEW.....THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG SEEMS TO BE THE FIX." MY VEHICLE IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH 30,000 MILES. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG AND LIKELY A PROBLEM FOR OTHER HONDA CIVIC OWNERS. SHOULDN'T IT BE A FACTORY RECALL? TODAY, I SPOKE TO NATALIE IN AMERICAN HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE COMPANY DECLINES TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. I REQUEST AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. PAY FOR THE FULL INSTALLATION OF NEW SRS AIRBAG UNIT AT NO COST TO ME AND REIMBURSE ME FOR $227.77. THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT.
INTERMITTENT CHECK AIR BAG SYSTEM WARNING. RANDOMLY COMES ON WHILE DRIVING. STARTED ABOUT JUNE 2019. TOOK IN TO DEALER TO CHECK BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ERROR CODE. WARNING DID NOT SHOW AGAIN UNTIL MAY 2020. HAS HAPPENED MORE OFTEN SINCE BUT IS STILL INTERMITTENT. WHILE THE WARNING WAS ON TOOK TO DEALER AND HAD IT CHECKED WHILE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING. READ AN ERROR CODE OF B0001:13, OPEN OR INCREASED RESISTANCE IN THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG FIRST INFLATOR. WARNING HAS NOT COME ON SINCE THEN. MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER TO CHECK SYSTEM AGAIN. CODE SEEMS TO RESET AND CLEAR ON ITS OWN.
AIR BAG FAILURE INDICATED.
SINCE THE SUMMER OF 2020, MY AIRBAG SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT HAD BEEN SPORADICALLY COMING ON AS I WAS DRIVING. I ATTRIBUTED SIMPLY TO PUTTING A HEAVY ITEM IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, I.E., A PURSE. THEN, WITHIN THE LAST TWO WEEK, STARTING AROUND NOVEMBER, IT CAME ON MORE OFTEN, EVERYTIME I DROVE. G DEALER DIAGNOSED IT TODAY AS NEEDING AN AIRBAG ASSEMBLY KIT DUE TO CODE B0001 13. THE DEALER INDICATES IT WILL COST $1,433.86. PLUS, I WASCHARGES $120.00 FOR THE DIAGNOSIS. AMERICAN HONDA CO. REFUSES TO HELP ME WITH THE COST. I HAVE NO OTHER TRANSPORTATION AND AM A RETIRED SENIOR CITIZEN. *JS

I WAS TOLD FIXING THE AIRBAG PROBLEM WAS NOT COVERED. WHY IS THAT WHEN TAKATA B BAGS WERE REPORTEDLY RECALLED FOR THE 2015 HONDA CIVIC.
