Dashboard lights not operating. Gear shifter locked Nav unit works, blinkers work, brake lights work, seat warmers work, car starts. It has been suggested to us that the brake light switch might be bad. We’re told this is a common problem with 2019 CRVs.

Started with a flicker taillight. Then dash board lights came on and off. Then car wouldn’t turn on. Took vehicle to dealership. They stated it was a faulty body control module that needed to be replaced

Incident: Oct 2024
Dec 2025

Defective Body Control Module (BCM) required replacement after only 23,000 miles. It is not available for inspection as dealership disposed of it. This defective part prevented the vehicle from starting, and controls other systems. The dealership's mechanics diagnosed that this BCM part was the cause preventing the vehicle from starting. This failure occurred without warning. This part was recalled for the 2019 Honda Insight, Honda Accord and Honda Accord Hybrid, and apparently for some 2019 Honda CR-V models (recall 20V771000), but we received no notice.

The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 23,000.

The battery dies of unknown causes and goes to 0 when parked and not in use. Body control module (BCM) was diagnosed as the potential problem by Honda dealer. But even after the brand new BCM module was installed (after lengthy procurement time), the problem is still not fixed. The battery dies completely - same as before. There is no pro-active warning sign of this issue. I believe Honda has recalled BCM in other models but they should do the same for CRVs too. What are we to do if the engine suddenly stops running due to 0 battery charge in a distant location (and god forbid while we are driving on the road). Appreciate your attention to this issue. Thank you.

2019 Honda CRV infotainment issues, screen randomly goes blank while driving causing the passengers of the car to have no ability to adjust the various settings (climate, radio, navigations, lighting of the counsel, etc.). This has been ongoing since the first year I purchased the car. Recently while driving the entire screen went blank and a very loud static like noise was coming from the speakers, I could not turn the radio off, I could not adjust the volume. I have to find a safe spot to pull over and shut the car off for a few min. I purchased my car new from the Honda Dealership and have brought it in multiple times due to these electrical issues and they keep telling me it is because I am not using an apple cord to connect OR my apple cord is old. This is not true I purchased brand new cords from apple directly and still the issues keep happening. Also in the last 2 months the rear tail lights will flash for no reason. Car parked in the garage over night the next morning I go out and tail lights are randomly doing quick flashes every few mins. This is a daily occurrence now and I worry someone will think it is a blinker while I am driving but it is not. I have seen several other online forums with the very same issues I am having and Honda wont do anything about it. There is something wrong with the electrical system in these cars.

Randomly all (12 or 13) warning lights come on my dash. Everything from check engine, cruise control problem, hill start problem, braking problem, tire pressure problems, etc. Honda claims they don't find any problems with my car, but I have had this happen for years. Even under warranty, the dealership and Honda of America did nothing.

Vehicle purchased 1/2020. Nov 2020 car had issues with the center screen going black. Had to pull over several times and to restart the car to get it to come back on. The round start button was flashing red when the vehicle was off, also the auto brake light has come on several times and there is no obstruction anywhere. Brought to dealer and they did a software update. mileage was 12,936. 5/16/22 Dead battery twice. Had AAA come to jump the vehicle. Took to local dealer mileage 29,641 battery test failed. replace battery under warranty. Had to leave the car all afternoon. 2/27/23 Car ran for 20 min, Went to move it 2 hrs later battery was dead. Had AAA come and jump it to get it to the dealer. It was going to snow for the rest of the day and we needed to get the car moved in the carport to get to our snow blower. Service closed at 5 pm. They said I could bring it and leave it in the lot for the next day. I brought it myself the next day after driving the car for an hr and starting it several times in the night. battery replaced under extended warranty plan. mileage 31,396 Was told by dealer to keep a charger on it if it was not going to be driven for more than a day. Seems to be some kind of electrical problem drawing the power down. Two batteries on a SUV with this mileage is not normal.

Possible faulty Body Control Module. Will not recognize either set of keys after the car has been off for a few hours. (The red light on both keys stops working. Both are somewhat new batteries.) To unlock the door, I need to use the physical key. When I hold the keyfob up to the push start, the car will turn on. Sometimes the car will start but will say something about the key not being detected in the car 50% of the time, the car will recognize KEY 1 as KEY 2 and show Key 2 driver's cluster settings. If you do not know about the physical key inside the keyfob or know about putting the keyfob next to the push start button, you will be left stranded. Other reports from a Honda enthusiast website have very similar problems with even the battery being drained overnight.

My vehicle did not want to start, upon getting my vehicle checked by a mechanic my battery, starter, alternator, key fob were good. Mechanic checked the car with his computer and no problems appeared in the system. Upon checking online many Hondas and Acura's have been this issue were the car doesn’t want to start or doesn’t want to turn off. Many articles online show these issues are with the start button on these cars. The engine from my 2019 CRV almost started when using the keyless function from the key fob while outside the vehicle. My mechanic said there has to be an electrical or computer issue because the car wants to start but it’s not getting enough signal. This is a big safety issue that a car is unresponsive, if your in a parking lot or closed structure and the car does not want to turn off it can turn into a big safety hazard.

Rear backup camera has intermittent power loss and loss of entertainment system. There is also popping, cracking sounds and info screen goes off and on. I first noticed this issues about 3 months ago. It was intermittent at first but now the issue is happening all the time I first reported this problem to the Honda dealer about a month ago and they told me there has been no camera issues reported I rechecked with Honda dealer (6-28-2023) and they have had no recall notice and have not heard of this issue with the 2019 Honda CRV. The dealer would charge me $159.00 to see if they can reproduce the problem. This issue is causing an problem as I rely on the rear camera when backing. No warning lights/ messages have shown

Brightness control of the center console infotainment unit will randomly cycle through it’s settings; day, night, and off. Problem has occurred multiple times since I purchased vehicle in early 2021. Typically happens during the day with full sunshine, but has happened three days in row now with rainy/cloudy weather. Have shown video of problem occurring to a Honda dealer service tech and after inspecting, was told they could not reproduce problem.

Infotainment System Will randomly glitch. No touching or pressing of buttons beforehand. And no access to do anything while glitching. Infotainment System Will spontaneously beep like you are pressing buttons, go from light to dark at different speeds. Very distracting while driving. Especially when nothing can be done to fix. Once car is turned off and restarted it does seem to “most of the time” make it go away for a bit. Nor rhyme or reason as to when it will happen. Hot or cold, AC or heat etc.

Low Tire WARNING light comes on even when there is no problem, because as I was told by my dealership, "The warning light comes on when it can actually be a reminder." Because of the WARNING I pulled over on a heavily traveled road way to look for a low tire. Dangerous not only to my self but other vehicles. "Warning" does not mean the same as "Reminder" and yet Honda has no way of distinguishing the difference. Do I keep driving ignore the warning light as it probably means nothing, and causing an accident because there was a real tire problem or pull into a possible unsafe area, to check? I feel there should be a way to distinguish warning from reminder on the vehicle that has more electronics than the first space craft.
