WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN MARCH 2020 FOR THE AIRBAG OF OUR HONDA ODYSSEY. TURNS OUT THE RECALL DATES BACK TO JANUARY 17. HONDA LET US DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND PUT OUR LIVES AT RISK FOR NEARLY TWO MONTHS. AS OF TODAY, HONDA DID NOT REPLY TO OUR LETTER ABOUT AIRBAG REPLACEMENT NOR DID THEY CONTACT US TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE OPERATED SINCE MARCH AND EXPENSES FOR IT ARE CLIMBING. *TR

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT SLOW SPEED THE SRS WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND NO ATTEMPT TO RESET IT WAS SUCCESSFUL.
TAKATA RECALL IN JANUARY, 2014, I LEFT THE ROAD TO AVOID ANOTHER CAR, HIT A DEER-CROSSING SIGN WHICH THEN DEPLOYED THE DRIVERS AIRBAG. THE AIRBAG BLASTED OUT TO THE RIGHT OF THE STEERING WHEEL THUS HITTING MY RIGHT ARM. MY RIGHT ARM WAS BROKEN AND REQUIRED SURGERY TO REPAIR. 2 TITANIUM PLATES AND 15 SCREWS. BLACK CLOUD OF WHAT MUST HAVE BEEN A PROPELLANT WAS PUMPED INTO MY FACE AND UPPER BODY. THE SKIN ON MY RIGHT HAND PEELED 4 TIMES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SRS MODULE OR THE SRS UNIT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS: 14V700000 (AIR BAGS), 14V351000 (AIR BAGS), 14V349000 (AIR BAGS), 13V132000 (AIR BAGS), AND 11V260000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 1 MPH, HE APPLIED THE BRAKES TO PARK THE VEHICLE AND BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ERRONEOUSLY. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED LITTLE ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 188,429.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 10 MPH WHEN A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO BOTH HANDS AND THE FACE AS A RESULT OF THE DEPLOYMENT AND STATED THAT HE BELIEVED THAT THE SLIGHT IMPACT SHOULD NOT HAVE TRIGGERED THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE AIR BAGS, AS WELL AS THE SEAT BELTS NEEDED REPLACEMENT. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE DID NOT CONSTITUTE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
SRS LIGHT ON MY HONDA ODYSSEY. HAD AN SMALL ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T NOT DEFLATE, LIGHTS BEEN ON FOR 2 YRS AND THE DEALER SAYS THE WILL STILL DRIVE WITHOUT FIXING THE ISSUE. TOOK IT THE DEALERSHIP AND HE IS CHARGING ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE, WHEN HE KNOWS WHAT THE ISSUE IS, AND THEN HE SAYS THAT THERE WILL BE A FEE TO FIX IT BUT HE CANNOT GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE BEFORE CHARGING ME A DIAGNOSIS FEE. *TR
