PEDAL IS VERY SOFT. REQUIRES HALF PEDAL OR MORE TO STOP. FIRMS UP IF PEDAL IS PUMPED. INCREASING STOPPING DISTSNCES & UNABLE TO GUAGE SAFE STOPPING DISTSNCES. MOST NOTICED AT CITY SPEEDS & EXITING THE HIGHWAY.
I PURCHASED THIS USED CAR IN MARCH 2020. THE ISSUE I AM HAVING IS WITH THE BRAKES. THE CAR REQUIRE A MORE THAN USUAL PEDAL PRESSURE FOR THE BRAKES TO STOP THE CAR. THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING IN HIGH SPEED. I HAVE ALSO RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF HONDA ODESSEY OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT SAME ISSUE.
VAN TAKES TOO LONG TO STOP. PEDAL FEELS HIGH, BUT STOPPING TAKES TOO LONG. NEW BRAKES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AND PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION. IT SEEMS MORE PRONOUNCED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
BRAKE FEELS SPONGY WHEN YOU GO ON THE BRAKE .FRONT WHEELS SOMETIMES LOCKS UP. BRAKE FLUID LEVEL DROPS IN BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR NO SIGNS OF LEAKS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID NEEDED TO BE TOPPED OFF EVERY THREE WEEKS. THERE WERE NO LEAKS AND A WARNING INDICATOR WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELS NEARLY TO FLOOR BEFORE BRAKING BECOMMES EFFECTIVE..OFTEN REQUIRES PUMPING PEDAL TO GET EFFECTIVE BRAKING. SEVERAL TRIPS TO REPAIR SHOPS REQUIRED EXPENSIVE BLEEDING AIR FROM BRAKE LINES AND FLUID REPLACEMENT. PROBLEM REAPPEARS AFTER A FEW WEEKS.
BRAKE FLUID IS DROPPING IN THE RESERVOIR AND NO SIGNS OF LEAKING BRAKE FLUID
I DONE ALL NEW BREAK PADS ROUTER JOB AFTER ABOUT ONE MONTH MY BREAK PADDLE BECAME SOFT WEAN I APLAY BREAK CAR CAN'T STOP NEED LONG DISTANCE TO STOP. MY WIFE DRIVES THE CAR AND SHE IS SO SCARED TO DRIVE THIS PROBLEM I NOTICED EVERY TIME I DONE BREAK JOB AFTER SOME TIME I DIDN'T KNOW WATT TO DO! IT'S VEHICLE MANUFACTURING PROBLEM?
ANY TIME I AM DRIVING AT A RELATIVELY HIGH SPEED (45+) GOING DOWNHILL AND NEED TO BRAKE, THE VEHICLE VIBRATES SIGNIFICANTLY. I LOOKED THIS UP AND IT APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH HONDA ODYSSEYS -- WARPED ROTORS, AND NOT DUE TO OVERUSE OR HIGH MILES. MY HONDA ACTUALLY HAS PRETTY LOW MILES. IT IS VERY CONCERNING WHEN I'M DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY IN THE MOUNTAINS AND FEEL LIKE I ALMOST DON'T HAVE CONTROL OF THE CAR SINCE IT SHAKES SO MUCH. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL SINCE THIS IS EASILY A $500-1000 FIX. AS FOR THE DATE BELOW, IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR YEARS, SO I JUST PUT IN THE MOST RECENT DATE. WE CAMPED LAST WEEKEND AND IT HAPPENED YET AGAIN. FINALLY PROMPTED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT...
WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED (5-10 MPH) AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THIS HAPPENED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. FEB 1, 2018 AND FEB 14, 2018. THE PROBLEM CAUSED MINOR ACCIDENTS IN BOTH CASES. ON FEB 1, THE CAR WAS IN A PARKING LOT, PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND THE CAR ACCELERATED AND RAN OVER A HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGN. ON FEB 14, IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY, TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, DEPRESSED THE BRAKE, AND THE CAR ACCELERATED INTO A TRACTOR-TRAILER CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE ODYSSEY, BUT NOT TO THE TRACTOR TRAILER. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP MAINTAINS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, NO PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES OR ACCELERATOR. AS THE OWNER, I AM CONVINCED THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, AND IN FACT WE HAVE GOTTEN RID OF THE CAR AND BOUGHT A NEW ONE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. I ALSO DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT 22 OTHER PEOPLE HAD HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 ODYSSEY. I'M CONCERNED THAT THERE IS NEED FOR A RECALL, BUT HONDA IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL MALFUNCTIONED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (TOM SCOTT HONDA, 603 11TH AVE N, NAMPA, ID 83687, (208) 466-3248) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD NOT MALFUNCTIONED AND NO LEAKS WERE FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 229,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" MY VAN HAS LONG BRAKING RESPONSE SINCE I BOUGHT IT, I'VE CHANGED ALL ROTORS AND PADS, BLED THE SYSTEM, AND THE BRAKE IS STILL SOFT, I CHECK ONLINE, AND THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM
I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BRAKES JUST LOST POWER AND I HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE VERY FIRMLY TO FEEL ANY ACTUAL BRAKING HAPPEN. THE ROTORS AND PADS WERE REPLACED ABOUT 200 MILES AGO AND THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM FLUSHED DUE TO PREVIOUS ISSUE OF A VERY SPONGY OR SOFT BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE FAILURE STARTED AT THE END OF A 50 MILE COMMUTE AT AS I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY AND APPROACHED A RED LIGHT IT TOOK TWICE-THREE TIMES THE NORMAL DISTANCE TO STOP GOING ABOUT 40 MPH.
2007 HONDA ODYSSEY ABS BRAKING SYSTEM IS SOFT WITH LOW PEDAL. DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE AT TIMES, FREQUENT PROBLEMS FOR LAST SEVERAL YEARS. EVEN AFTER RECALLS FOR FAULTY SEALS IN THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER YEARS AGO AND THEN THE RECALL FOR THE VSA MODULATOR . BUMPED GARAGE DOOR WHILE PULLING IN! DEALER SAID: FAULTY ABS MODULATOR.
VAN HAS LOW, SOFT BRAKE PEDAL, AND MUST BE BLED EVERY FEW WEEKS. I FEEL VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. HONDA DOES NOT SEEM INTERESTED OR CARE.

WHEN THE INCIDENT FIRST OCCURRED THE VIBRATING WAS NOT AS SEVERE. NOW WHEN I AM GOING AT OVER 50MPH AND I START BRAKING, THE CAR'S STEERING WHEEL STARTS SHAKING VIOLENTLY. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE ROTORS ARE WARPED PREMATURELY. MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME CAR HAVE THE ISSUE. I AM AFRAID OF GETTING INTO A CAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING SO VIOLENTLY WHILE I AM DRIVING. ITS A VERY BIG SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND I WISH THAT HONDA RECALLS THESE CARS FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR

A DAY AFTER AND GOING FORWARD FROM PURCHASING MY 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L SOFT BRAKE, PEDAL GOING ALL THE WAY TO GROUND BEFORE STOPPING WHEN DRIVING 5 TO 55 MPH. THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE RECENT RECALL REGARDING THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER. THE CAR WAS RECENTLY TAKEN INTO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER. EVER SINCE THIS RECALL WAS COMPLETED, I'VE FELT (AND SOMETIME HEARD) A SLIGHT "BUZZ" WHEN FIRST TOUCHING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE "BUZZ" IS A VIBRATION, WHICH IS FELT IN THE FIRST FEW SECONDS AFTER APPLICATION AND IMMEDIATELY DISAPPEARS IF BRAKING IS HELD, OR RELEASED. IT MAY AGAIN APPEAR IF THE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, BUT NOT ALWAYS. BRAKING FEELS NORMAL WITH NO OTHER EVENTS. IT HAS NOT GOTTEN WORSE OR DISAPPEARED. PLEASE CALL FOR FURTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS. THE BRAKES SUDDENLY HARDENED AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE WHILE GOING DOWNHILL. THIS PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTICED IN . I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WOODLAND HILLS KEYES HONDA AND LEARNED THAT THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER WAS DEFECTIVE. THIS SAME VEHICLE WAS THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL OF THE MASTER CYLINDER. BASED ON HONDA'S RECOMMENDATIONS, THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER IS TO BE REPLACED IF THERE IS ANY LEAK. IT IS MY POSITION, THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER UPON DETERMINING THAT IT WAS LEAKING AS IMPLICIT IN THE RECALL REQUIRED THAT THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER BE REPLACED. HAD THIS BEEN REPLACED THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A FAILURE TO THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER. *JS
WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ABOUT 20 MILES FROM HOME. I GOT UP TO ABOUT 45 MILES, THE VEHICLE BRAKES ON ITS OWN SLOWING DOWN THE VEHICLE. IT LASTED ABOUT TWO SECONDS AND IT HAPPENED 4 TIMES ON THE WAY HOME IN A 5 MINUTE TIME PERIOD.. THEN THE REST OF THE WAY HOME EVERYTHING WAS OK AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT BRAKE ON ITS OWN. *TR
