White Pearl Paint of my 2014 Odyssey is peeling on the roof, almost all of the paint has peeled off on the top front part of the roof and this seems to be a common problem with this paint color and year of odyssey
Driver side sliding door fell off, cable broke first then the door fell off while manually opening. This resulted in extensive damage to the body and almost cause physical harm.
The sliding doors will pop and stop in the middle of closing and opening. Have checked all the assembly and nothing is in the way of tracks. It has closed on several riders as it opens. Have to switch the switch several times and it will still not reset. It almost hit someone in the head while exiting the van. This has been going on for years but a body shop said that there is no recalls and they have several complaints about the issues too.
The paint has bubbled and peeled from the top of my car in large flakes. I have 4 places greater than approx 6x5 inches where the bare metal is exposed. This should not happen, and I not no one in my family has ever had this happen with their cars.
Pearl white paint peeling to expose the primer on the door, hood, roof, tailgate and the edge of the gas tank door. The recall expired in 2019 and I was never notified about the paint recall. I found out in 2021 when I took the van into the dealer to repair mechanical recalls because I had to ship the vehicle out to Hawaii. The dealer took pictures and sent a claim to Honda, but it was denied. Honda customer service was no help at all and could only direct me to a dealer, which I believe the dealer did what the could by taking pictures and submitting an estimate and claim on my behalf.
Paint is flaking off top of car and before that on driver side rear door
PAINT IS PEELING FROM ROOF, ON TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD AND CAR NOT LOOKS GOOD. VEHICLE IS MOVING AND I HAVE SEEN THE PAINT PEEK OFF CHIPS DROPPED ON WINDSHIELD.
OUR PAINT IS PEALING OFF THE ROOF BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND MOONROOF. THIS IS MOST LIKELY GOING TO BE COVERED BY HONDA. WE PREVIOUSLY HAD PEALING ON OUR HOOD AND HAD IT REPAIRED AT OUR OWN COST. HONDA REFUSED TO PAY FOR IT. CLEARLY THEY HAVE A PAINT ISSUE BY THE RECALL/WARRANTY ON THE ROOF/BACK DOOR PAINT, HOW WOULD ONLY THOSE PARTS BE AFFECTED? THEY NEED TO REPAINT, AND OR REIMBURSE ALL OF THE PEOPLE AFFECTED.
THE PAINT ON MY 2014 HONDA ODYSSEY IS PEELING. THE ARE ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD AND IN BETWEEN THE MOONROOF HAS A AREA OF ABOUT 6"X6" THAT JUST FLAKED OFF. *TR
2014 HONDA ODYSSEY POWER DOOR DOES NOT SEEM TO LATCH ALL OF THE WAY. 80% OF THE TIME WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED, A POPPING SOUND CAN BE HEARD. WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED IT IS ALWAYS IN A STATIONARY POSITION. I HAVE CONCERNS THE DOOR WILL OPEN INVOLUNTARILY WHILE IN MOTION.
PAINT IS PEELING OFF THE TOP OF VEHICLE
THE PAINT STARTED PEELING OFF IN THE AREA ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD IN THE 3RD YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP (HONDA OF CLEAR LAKE) DID NOT CONSIDER THAT AS WARRANTY WHEN THE ISSUE WAS POINTED OUT TO THEM. AN INDEPENDENT QUOTE FOR FIXING THE PAINT (PEARL WHITE) WAS WELL OVER $2000. GIVEN THAT THIS IS A RELATIVELY NEW CAR, HONDA MUST OWN UP THE ISSUE AND DO THIS PAINT RELATED FIX FREE OF CHARGE, ON DOING A SEARCH ON ODYSSEY OWNERS FORA, I NOTED THAT THERE ARE SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE MODEL.
BOTH AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS FAILED. WHEN OPENED MANUALLY, THE DRIVES SIDE SLIDING DOOR COMPLETELY POPPED OUT AND FELL OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING GARAGE AND HAD NOT BEEN USED FOR 8 DAYS. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT COMPONENT BROKE TO CAUSE THIS. ATTACHED PICTURE IS OUR BEST ATTEMPT TO PUT THE DOOR BACK ON.
OUR 2014 DIAMOND WHITE PEARL HONDA ODYSSEY HAS A FACTORY PAINT DEFECT CALLED DELAMINATION. THE PAINT STARTED PEELING OFF IN SHEETS / LARGE SECTIONS FROM THE ROOF IN JANUARY 2019 AND THEN THE TAILGATE IN FEBRUARY 2019. THE WHITE PAINT BASE COAT IS CLEANLY SEPARATING FROM THE ED PRIMER. AMERICAN HONDA USA REFUSES TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE PROBLEM AND ACTUALLY TRYING TO STATE THIS IS OWNER WEAR & TEAR? THEY NEED TO PAY FOR THIS DEFECT 100% AND HONDA NEEDS TO ADMIT THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM AFFECTING ALL NEWER WHITE HONDA'S LIKE 2016 HRV, 2015 PILOTS, FITS & ODYSSEYS, 2014 PILOTS & ODYSSEYS, 2013, 2012 ETC ETC. ANYTHING WHITE FROM HONDA AND EVEN ACURA, MADE IN THEIR USA & MEXICO FACTORIES. INDUSTRY STANDARD IS FOR A CARS PAINT TO LAST A MINIMUM OF 10 YEARS UNDER NORMAL USE.
WE BOUGHT THE VAN BRAND NEW FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP IN CHARLOTTE NC. ABOUT TWO YEARS AFTER WE BOUGHT IT WE STARTED TO SEE THE PAINT PEEL IN THE BACK NEAR THE WINDOW. WE CONTACTED HONDA AND WAS TOLD IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. TODAY THERE ARE PROBABLY 4 LARGE AREAS WHERE THE PAINT IS COMING OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SLIDING DOOR FAILED TO OPEN WITHOUT WARNING . THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. IT CONSTANTLY RE-OPENS AFTER PRESSING THE CLOSE BUTTON OR USING THE HANDLE AND MUST BE FORCED CLOSED MANUALLY FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. IT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE WITH TIME. WE TRY TO NOT USE THAT DOOR WHICH IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS THAT IS THE DOOR CLOSEST TO ME FOR MY CHILDREN TO USE. AND THE OTHER DAY WHEN MY DAUGHTER ACCIDENTALLY FORGOT AND USED THAT DOOR, I SHUT IT AND WE WENT ON TO OUR ERRANDS, WHEN WE RETURNED TO THE VAN THE DOOR WAS WIDE OPEN, OBVIOUSLY IT AUTOMATICALLY OPENED AS WE LEFT. IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA CORPORATE AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING AS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. AT 4 YEARS OLD THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. MY LAST HONDA ODDESSEY WAS A 2009, IT DID THE SAME THING, AAA HAD TO COME ONE DAY WHILE I WAS STUCK AT THE GYM AND COULD NOT GET IT TO CLOSE. THEY HAD TO CUT THE WIRES ON THE DOOR TO CLOSE IT. NOW THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, I HAVE DONE A LITTLE RESEARCH ONLINE AND SEEN THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE HANDLED BY A RECALL.
THE REAR TAILGATE WILL NOT RELEASE IN COLD WEATHER (TYPICALLY AT FREEZING OR BELOW) RESTRICTING ALL ACCESS TO THE REAR OF THE VAN.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE SUNROOF GLASS CRACKED/EXPLODED. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I COULD SEE THAT HIT IT.
THE WINDSHIELDCLIP AND MOLDING SPONTANEOUSLY BECAME DISLODGED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING AT 65MOH.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I-66 IN VIRGINIA GOING ABOUT 55-65 AND THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW EXPLODED INWARD ON MY SON.
THE RIGHT SIDE REAR LIFT AREA HAS HAD A METALLIC RATTLE SINCE THE CAR WAS SIX MONTHS OLD. IT'S BEEN TO HONDA FOUR TIMES FOR THIS COMPLAINT WITHOUT FINDING OR ELIMINATING THE RATTLE. HONDA REPLACED THE LIFT ARM ASSEMBLE DURING THE LAST VISIT. NOW THE DOOR BINDS AND WILL NOT CLOSE WITHOUT ASSISTANCE WITH MY HAND.
PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR WILL NOT OPEN UNDER ANY CONDITION. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN MANUALLY OR VIA THE POWER DOOR FEATURE. THIS LIMITS THE EGRESS FROM THE VEHICLE.
PAINT ON FRONT ROOF NEAR THE SUNROOF IS PEELING OFF. WILL HONDA TAKE CARE OF THIS.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS VERY HOT TO THE TOUCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHO STATED THE HEATER LINE IS NOT ISOLATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3600.
