I had a trunk latch recall done on my car in June 2024. Immediately after that, my trunk stopped opening with the key fob. The latch would click but not release. A few weeks ago, it started doing the same thing with the release lever by the driver's side. There was no way to get the trunk open, so I went to a different Hyundai dealership than where my recall was done at (due to travel costs from school). They had to replace the trunk latch because the recall latch was installed incorrectly. It was an almost $700 expense.
For the past 2 years, the car shuts off while driving. There is no warning lights or other warning that it is going to shut off. The steering doesn't lock but the car shuts off. I have to come to a stop and then restart the car. It does restart every time. This seems to happen frequently and then doesn't do it for a few weeks. I have had it looked at by 4 different mechanics, had multiple sensors replaces, replaced coil packs, and the problem still continues. The Hyundai dealer looked at it one time and said they do not know what is wrong.

Hello I own a Hyundai Elantra 2015 SE I am having trunk latch issues the trunk will not open at all I cannot pull seats down without getting into the trunk once something is in there it cannot get out I believe this is a safety hazard I called my dealership to see if there is a recall on this but there is not this is a big issue .
About 6 weeks ago, my car engine began to turn off while driving. Warning lights flash on the gauge cluster. The vehicle has limited mobility for 20β30 seconds, then loses all power. This was incredibly dangerous when driving at highway speeds, as the car simply stopped. There were no warning lights or issues before this began happening. I took it to a local mechanic who identified several error messages and replaced the battery, throttle, sensors, and other parts, but the problem persisted. They could not identify the cause but verified the problem. I took the car to the Skagit, WAHyundai dealership, where they determined it was a failure in the oil pump. This exact problem is under an active recall for other Hyundai Elantra model years.
The Pearl White paint falls off of the vehicle, exposing the primer to the elements and reducing the life and usage of the vehicle. Paint has also flown up and stuck to the windshield, obscuring visibility.
Unknown. Why is NHTSA giving Hyundai such slack? It has been well over six months since Hyundai has alerted us of the safety recall, but has to yet to act on recall 251. They say the car would be safer outside, but many of us who live in high rises donβt have that luxury as our multi-level garages are either attached to or beneath the living units. Hyundai should be compelled to act right away, or buy their cars back. NHTSA should act immediately.
This safety recall was issued over two months ago and there is still no remedy for it, putting my life and others lives in danger.
I'm beyond frustrated! I dropped my car off Saturday May 18th and got my vehicle back on Monday June 26th for my car to completely stop working and not cut on come July 2nd. I called Hyundai of Concord 3 times and left multiple voicemails for Dennis to return my calls. I spent $799 in repairs to walk away thankful I completed the needed repairs to run correctly. In return I spent $799 for NOTHING! My car won't start! I understand the 4th is tomorrow, but the most professional thing is to address my concern. June 26th I was provided with a diagnostic and NOTHING on my diagnostic signified I had an urgent repairs that would prevent my car from starting. I'm extremely unsatisfied. I trusted Hyundai of Concord being that I live closer than Keffer Hyundai! I'm so disappointed! I will be without a car until who knows how long! I finally got a call back from Dennis who rudely cut me off as I was talking and did not provide a resolution. Dennis advised me Tony the regional manager would be contacting me, but hasn't. I also left two voicemails for Tony and no call back! Staff is incompetent and not helpful! I was forced to trade in my vehicle due to lack of response from Modern Hyundai of Concord!
The paint from a lot of Hyundai Elantraβs are chipping really bad. The paint is no good!
The Pearl White Paint on my 2015 Hyndaui Elantra has been chipping continuously. In 2017 I had the car repainted and also in 2019 I had the car repainted. Now itβs 2023 and the car is chipping paint again. I was told my cars VIN number wasnβt apart of the known paint recall for this color. But clearly the 2015 pearl white Hyundaiβs should be included. I see many white Hyundaiβs with chipping paint. Itβs ridiculous.
There is a clock spring warranty on the Elantra gt. We have the Elantra jk and the clock spring has stopped working. This is a safety issue and this car should also be in the extended warranty. Our car has 32,000 miles on it and this should not have happened.
Please note that this is not reporting incidents, accidents, collisions or injuries. This is reporting actions taken regarding, (previously referenced here), the Important Safety Recall Number 251. Although this problem was recorded in September of 2023 (please refer to [XXX] ), I only recently received this Safety Recall notice in the mail on Monday, November 27, 2023. The notice states: "due to fire risk, you are strongly advised to park your vehicle outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed." It also states the car is not safe to drive. I do not have another place to park my car. I contacted my local Hyundai dealer several times, urging them to please hold my car until Hyundai fixes the ABS fuse problem. I was told by the Hyundai dealership that they will not hold my car, while we wait for them to fix the ABS fuse problem. I am asking for your help in having Hyundai hold the car temporarily, as It is imperative to do so for safety reasons. Thank you. My car has recall on it and Hyundai doesnβt want to replace the defective modules. The recall is active and they donβt have any remedyβs for plan of action.
i only have 4,100 miles on my vehicle. several months ago i was driving and i could not go over 40 mph, even putting the pedal to the floor. NO WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME ON, could not find the transmission plug to check that fluid. brought to the dealer even though vehicle was running okay several days later to find out why this happened. their machine did not pick up anything wrong. i only do city driving so i rarely go over 40 mph. dealer blamed bad gas. could it be possible that because i hardly ever go over 40 the vehicle put itself in limp mode. dealer did not check my transmission fluid even though i asked them to. the us postal service sends me pics of the mail i will receive for that day. around june 14 2022 it showed a letter from 2015 hyundai elantra official business penalty for private use 300 important vehicle information address change? please contact our customer service dept- can you please send me that letter
Hyundai blue link not working and also was told that older model support is being discontinued which severely impacts value and selling points of the vehicle as well as some great safety features such as GPS tracking , collision information and remote start among others including Hyundai roadside assistance I believe a recall should be made to get a blue link module installed in all affected vehicles 2012-2016 models of cars as the technology was available then to support the new telecommunications but they neglected to add it to the affected vehicles thus impacting major aspects to the vehicles
Both of my front power window regulators broke while driving with my children in the car. When they broke I was rolling the window down in June, nothing else. The jazzers is that there was a loud metallic sounding bang, similar to something like a brick or a rock hitting the car, which was enough to make me and my children scream and I of course reacted by squinting or shielding and almost crashed into the person in front of me in traffic the 2nd time, the first one was the drivers side and I was on a parkway in May (one month after the car turned 5 years old) Thank goodness I didnβt but this is a huge hazard that could of resulted in someone getting hurt. I know there are many of these issues and because my car is 6 years old and under 100,000 miles (only 62,000) it doesnβt qualify for warranty coverage. I canβt roll my windows down and I have one window taped up temporarily until I can afford to fix it.
On about October 3, 2021, around 5 pm ET my car, a 2015 Hyundai Elantra, shut off while driving. I waited a few minutes and it started; I was able to make a u-turn and it shut -off again. I waited a few minutes and my car started. I drove home slowly and ran through a stop sign to keep my car from shutting off again. On October 4, 2021, I had my car towed from my home to Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta. On October 5, 2021, the dealer said because they are not able to replicate the error, they cannot repair my car and to come and pick it up and pay a diagnostic fee. My car has a remaining 10 year/100,000-mile warranty on the engine, transmission and trans axle. I searched the internet and found that my car model and other Hyundai models have shut off/stalled while driving. The dealer service mgr. responded that these internet articles don't mean anything. For safety reasons, I have not picked up the car because I am afraid to drive the car. The dealer states they will drive around and try to replicate the issue, but refuses to repair the car, or provide a loaner or car rental reimbursement during this ordeal. I have filed a complaint with their Consumer Affairs Dept., the Better Business Bureau and the Georgia Consumer Affairs Office. The consumer provided information a lawsuit pertaining to the same year, make, and model of her vehicle.
THE PAINT HAS STARTED TO CHIP ON MULTIPLES OF THIS VEHICLE. IN THE SAME EXACT SPOTS.
WHENEVER IT RAINS MY TRUNK FILLS UP WITH WATER. I THROUGH THAT MAYBE IT WAS THE LINING ON MY VEHICLE BUT IT IS INTACT. WHEN THE TRUNKS FILLS UP IT GETS SO HIGH THAT IT FLOWS TO THE BACKS SEATS AND SOAKING THEM. IF NOT MAINTAINED PROPERLY IT WILL CAUSE A VERY BAD ODOR AND MOLD. IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY.
THE HYUNDAI ELANTRA WAS STATIONARY AND HOOKED UP TO JUMPER CABLES TO JUMP A DEAD CAR. THE ELANTRA WAS RUNNING TO ALLOW THE OTHER CAR TO CHARGE. THE FUSE BOX ON THE ELANTRA CAUGHT FIRE WHICH SPREAD TO THE JUMPER CABLES AND TO THE OTHER CAR. THERE WAS MUCH MORE DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE ELANTRA THAN THERE WAS TO THE OTHER CAR, WHICH ONLY HAD MINOR COSMETIC BURNING. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE ELANTRA AND THE DAMAGE HAS NOT YET BEEN ASSESSED.
THE ISSUE IS RELATED TO AIR VENTILATION IN THE CAR IF I SET THE OPTIONS CORRECTLY TO GET OUTSIDE FRESH AIR WITH NO A/C RUNNING, AFTER SOME TIME I FEEL LIKE I AM INHALING ENGINE EXHAUST. MADE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS BUT EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THAT IT'S WORKING AS DESIGNED. AIR VENTS HAVE SOME ISSUE WHICH LETS THE ENGINE EXHAUST GET INTO THE PASSENGER CABIN.
1ST TIME THIS HAPPENED 3/15/18 AROUND 2:30-3:00 WE TOOK RIDE TO DAIRY QUEEN IN N L R , HUSBAND DROVE HOME WHEN WE GOT TO THE PARKING LOT IN OUR COMPLEX RIGHT BEFORE PARKING LOT IN FRONT OF OUR BUILDING AFTER TURNING THE CORNER LEFT WHEN THE CAR TOTALLY SHUT OFF. ALL LIGHTS LIT UP ON DASH, AFTER PUTTING IN PARK IT RESTARTED AGAIN AND WE WERE ABLE TO GET TO OUR APARTMENT PARKING AREA. 2ND TIME THIS HAPPENED WE WERE AT THE LIGHT TO TURN LEFT INTO PROMINADE! 5/13/18 AT 4:20-4:30 WE WERE TURNING INTO THE CHENAL PROMINADE AT THE RED LIGHT WHEN IT STALLED WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND US. MY HUSBAND PUT IT IN PARK RESTARTED THEN LEFT US DRIVE AGAIN.
DON'T BUY HYUNDAI CAR. I WAS SO PROUD OF BEING HYUNDAI CAR OWNER WHO HAVE TWO HYUNDAI VEHICLES. HOWEVER, I STARTED TO DISLIKE HYUNDAI. THE REASON IS THE NAVIGATING SYSTEM THAT I GOT INTO. IT POINTED WRONG LOCATION WHILE I AM DRIVING TO GO TO GOLF COURSE WHERE I DID NOT KNOW HOW TO GET THERE. I GOT PANIC IN THE FREEWAY. WHAT IF IT WAS NIGHT TIME IN THE MIDDLE OF FREEWAY? WHAT IF I WAS DRIVING FOR THE VERY IMPORTANT MEETING? I COULD STOP ON THE RAIL ROAD OR THE DANGEROUS PLACE. EVEN MORE I HAD TO DRIVE ONE HAND BECAUSE I HAD TO USE ONE HAND HOLDING THE HANDPHONE WITH MAP APP DIRECTING ME TO THE PLACE. I HAD TO STOP IN THE SIDE ROAD OF FREEWAY. IT WAS SO DANGEROUS. 2015 YEAR ELANTRA WHICH IS KIND BRAND NEW. DEALER SAID NO WARRANTY, HYUNDAI AMERICA SAID NO WARRANTY OR RECALL. I FOUND MANY OWNERS OF HYUNDAI VEHECLE DRIVERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM LIKE ME. HOWEVER, THERE IS NO RESPONSIBLITY FROM HYUNDAI. JUST PAY AND FIX IN THE DEALER. THEY SHOULD COVER THIS BY RECALLING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. IT MAY BE MORE DANGEROUS THAN BROKEN BREAK. DON'T BUY HYUNDAI THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURER. THEY SHOULD GO OUT OF U.S.A IF THEY DO NOT DO ANYTHING FOR THIS PROBLEM.
