A safety recall performed by Hyundai automotive company was completed on 10.4.2022 to remedy a known security flaw in Kia/Hyunai vehicles made between 2011 and 2022. This recall was performed successfully by a certified Hyundai dealer. Since this, the vehicle has been stolen not once, but twice. The security sytem that should be in place to prevent the ease of theft has not been effective. This has put us as owners at risk of financial harm by lack of access to a vehicle on multiple occasions. Additionally this has continued to be a public safety concern as this has put the lives and safety of others at risk when thieves are easily able to steal these vehciles and drive recklessly around a city. The problem has been reproduced by a dealership when they had to store the vehicle, locked, and were able to start the car with just a USB stick in March 2024. Additionally this issue has been reproduced by a thief again in September 2025 when a second theft occured. The vehicle has been assessed for damage at a certified Hyundai dealership and is awaiting further inspection.
Have a 2019 Hyuandi Elantra. Purchased in 2020 now only 6 years old the white paint on roof of car and around rear window the paint is chipping off. I have a softball size area in roof is all chipping off. I take very good care of my car and can’t believe the paint is all coming off! I’ve noticed a lot of other Hyuandi’s on the road are also peeling and chipping off the white paint on their cars also. Reported it to hyuandi dealership several times but, have gotten no response.
Vehicle caught on fire. There were not any warnings, and no alarms went off prior to this.
Gas Pedle only goes 20 miles sticks
I have gotten notice for a recall three times from the manufacturer and/or dealership and everytime I take it in, something is wrong and there's an excuse as to why the recall isn't being done. As a matter of fact your site shows that there is no active recall but there is or I wouldn't keep getting notifications to bring my car in. I need someone to look into what is going on before something bad happens to me or my family while I'm driving. Thank you
Hyundai and Kia vehicles are so easy to steal. No security system. Can break back window and peel back steering column/drive away in less than 90 seconds. Hyundai and Kia Motors aren’t doing anything to address to the issue and car theft to these vehicles is now considered an epidemic.
The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V301000 (Engine). The contact stated that the vehicle would not start while low on fuel. The contact had to keep refueling to a full tank to start the vehicle. The failure only occurred when the fuel level was at a quarter tank. The dealer was made aware of the failure but could not duplicate the failure since the vehicle had a full tank of gasoline. The dealer performed the recall repair; however, the failure recurred. Hyundai of Palatine (221 E Lake Cook Rd, Palatine, IL 60074) was also made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the recall was already repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
February 2021 - I took my vehicle to Wilson Hyundai in Flowood, MS - was told there was a recall having to do with my headlights but no components were available to make the repair. I have called numerous times to ask about replacement parts and get the run around. My lights are not bright and switching to bright is not even worth the effort. I can barely see 30ft ahead at best after the sun goes down. When will parts be available or some type of resolution because this is dangerous. There were no warning lamps on until maybe 1 month ago (October 2021), it tells me that I need to have my daytime running lamps serviced. I can't wait til I can trade this vehicle off. November 2, 2021 - I hit a dog because I did not see it.
The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that their vehicle began to emit a burning rubber type of odor that could at times caused them a headache. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who was unable to identify the cause of the issue. The dealer just continued to drain the cooling system to prevent the vehicle from overheating. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
Hyundai pohanka of Fredericksburg did not inform me of the engine recall. And tried to blame all problems that happened with the vehicle on myself. Sludge had built up in the engine due to the recall and damaged all timing components and are making me pay to fix it even tho it should have been covered due to the recall they never informed me about
My high beams have not worked since I bought the car dealership told me they were recalled. Also steering column grinds whenninturnnthe steering wheel
The brake system of my vehicle failed completely when I was attempting to reduce my speed and exit the freeway. I exited through a red light and hit the light pole at freeway speed. Seconds later the cars to my right hit my car causing it to flip over. People involved in the collision got off to help me flip the car back over and by doing so my wrist broke. I also suffered from extreme whiplash.
It began in early 2020 my brakes shake when braking and sometimes don’t work at all. After having to change my brakes multiple times and get them flushed my mechanic suggested I contact Hyundai because this was not the norm. It happens spontaneously and now the car is dying when I brake . And won’t start without a jump. This happened now 2x once in my driveway and once in traffic.and I was almost hit by multiple cars since I had become disabled and couldn’t get out of traffic before my car came to a complete stop. This is unacceptable. It is a well maintained new car. The headlights are very low and don’t work well in dark areas. But the most concerning is the brakes and the car dying while driving. I need help asap.
