Recall on below since September 2023 and they still have no remedy/fix available. Due to fire hazard I'm unable to park my car in my garage or near the house & says could cause fire while driving. How long is deemed unacceptable for no fix provided? Recall: THE SUBJECT VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ("ABS") MODULES THAT COULD LEAK BRAKE FLUID INTERNALLY AND CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT OVER TIME. AN ELECTRICAL SHORT COULD RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT OVERCURRENT IN THE ABS MODULE INCREASING THE RISK OF AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE WHILE PARKED OR DRIVING. NHTSA Recall #23V651000. Hyundai campaign recall #251
NHTSA Recall Number23V651000 - I was told this issue would be fixed by November 2024. To date "no remedy has been identified" per Hyundai, however, the same thing happened in other vehicles with this manufacturer and a remedy has been implemented, the ABS brake module has been replaced. Hyundai is not following through with this. I am unable to drive my vehicle as it my spontaneously combust. I cannot drive my grandchildren in a vehicle that may catch on fire at any time. There is a remedy, replace the ABS break module. Hyundai is not doing this in a timely fashion.
Hyundai Recall HY251, NHTSA 23V651000. The ABS Module is failing. This issue may cause the car to catch fire while driving or parked. I've taken the car to multiple dealers. The ABS light is on, the Traction Assist light is on, the Down Hill Assist light is on, and the Parking Brake light is on. The dealers are more than happy to provide standard maintenance services, but are evidently unable to get the part to fix this issue. One dealer told me they could replace the entire ABS Module, but the manufacture would not approve it. This car is my main form of transportation and is causing me enormous stress not knowing when or where my car is going to catch on fire, and if it'll end up causing damage to other people's property. Hyundai has had more than sufficient time to address this issue and to make the corrective parts available to dealers.
recall 251 I feel Hyundia is dragging their feet with a fix for this recall.. It was been way too long. It can cause a fire and can not park my Santa Fe in my garage. The problem has hbeen confirmed with Hyundai.
Brakes locked up on me driving
abs module making noise abs light turn on, parking brake stay on, traction light stay on, odometer does not work, speedometer does not work, steering effort decrease, car also stop all of sudden. Car need it to be tow to my house. I took it to dealership they recommended to replace abs module because of a short. I found a recall for ABS MODULE INSPECTION AND MULTI-FUSE INSTALLATION for my santa fe sport 2013 (RECALL CAMPAIGN 205) but my vin #[XXX] does not appear when enter into system to look for recalls. JUNE, 2021 SANTA FE SPORT (AN). The part number in my car is the same as the one in the recall. Module Part #58920-4Z000QQH. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
On July 26, 2023 the brakes totally failed on my 2013 Santa Fe Sport. I paid $$$ to have the brakes fully repaired. This week I received a Hyundai recall campaign notice 251 that suggested brakes might fail with a potential for resulting fire. This recall message prompted me to report my incident to Hyundai. Since it has been over 10 years, Hyundai says it has no responsibility. The issue for me was traffic safety to protect our loved ones and to avoid causing a serious accident or injury to others. I would Hyundai to be be responsible and pay for my brake repair and ensure its vehicle are safe and road worthy.
Brake failure. Our 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T is having serious brake issues. On pressing brake pedal, it'll travel all the way down, and only pumping the brake might get vehicle to stop. My wife almost hit a vehicle at a traffic light. We've had both front and rear brakes replaced, and master cylinder has been replaced by a certified mechanic, but no avail. Our mechanic mentioned possibility of an ABS issue, and suggested we contact Hyundai first. I made an appointment with our local Hyundai Dealer in Odessa, Texas, but said they can only get me in on February 9th, and this vehicle is needed for work. The vehicle is a serious hazard to drive.
ABS was repaired 6 months ago. Now light comes back on today.
Brake failure. Our 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T is having serious brake issues. On pressing brake pedal, it'll travel all the way down, and only pumping the brake might get vehicle to stop. My wife almost hit a vehicle at a traffic light. We've had both front and rear brakes replaced, and master cylinder has been replaced by a certified mechanic, but to no avail. Our mechanic suggested contacting Hyundai dealership, as next option would be ABS. I made an appointment with our local Hyundai Dealer in Odessa, Texas, but said they can only get me in on February 9th, and this vehicle is needed for work. The vehicle is a serious hazard to drive. I've since noticed several ABS recalls, but none for this year model. Something is seriously wrong. My wife almost rear ended a vehicle on the first incident.
My abs, traction control lights came on meaning the abs system is rendered inoperable. Hyundai has a campaign (949) for the same make and model as my SUV but my VIN isn’t included in that campaign. The SUV has 70,000 miles on it.
The Downhill Assist system shows a light, and the vehicles brake lights do not work when it is lighting up. It only occurs sometimes, but it causes the vehicle to slow on it's own and the brakes light are not working. I feel this may cause an accident or even an injury due to an accident. I was wanting to know if you could investigate this to see if anyone else is having this possibly dangerous problem?
ABS & BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON. EVEN AFTER REPLACING BRAKES. THIS IS CURRENT RECALL BUT MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW UP UNDER THIS RECALL. THE RADIO & GPS WORKS BUT THERE IS NO SOUND COMING OUT. I WAS ABLE TO RESET BEFORE BUT NOT ANYMORE.

THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,000.

THEN ABOUT 4MOTHS LATER THE BACK ONE'S RIGHT AND LEFT SIDES. THEN 4MONTHS LATER THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE WENT OUT (FRONT). THEN AGAIN THE BACK BREAKS WENT I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON.THIS WILL BE MY THIRD GO AROUND WITH THESE BREAKS
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, 65 MILES HOUR , SMELL OF BURNING COMING FROM REAR OF SUV, 2013 HYUNDIA SANTA FE SPORT 56K MILES GOT OUT OF SUV AND MY LEFT REAR BRAKE WAS SMOKING VERY HOT, TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY LOOKED AT THE LEFT REAR BRAKE AND SAID IT WAS JUST THE BRAKE PAD, REPALCED PAD, BUT DID NOT INSPECT ALL MY BRAKES! THEN NEXT DAY MY LEFT AND RIGHT REAR BRAKES LOCKED UP AND WAS SMOKING, AGAIN TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG! I WAS SO CONFUSED, I CALLED THE HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY DID A COMPLAINT FORM, IT DID NO GOOD FOR DEALERSHIP DID NOT FIX OR DID THEY DO A COMPLETE BRAKE INSPECTION, THEY SAY IT WOULD BE TO COSTLY AND WOULD TAKE TO MUCH TIME! AND ON THE CHECK IN FORM THEY PUT MILEAGE OF 66K MILES SO AS TO LOOK AS IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT YET THE BRAKES LOCK UP! I GOT A CALL FROM HYUNDAI SERVICE REP. DAVE HE SAID HE WANTED TO MAKE SURE I AS BEING TAKEN CARE OF AND WOULD SEE TO THAT MY BRAKES GET FIXED. BUT NOTHING EVER CAME OF IT, HE DOES NOT ANSWER MY CALLS AND DID NOT SET ANYTHING UP.... WOW WHAT A COMPANY. I LOOKED UP PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND YES THERE HAS BEEN OTHERS WITH SAME PROBLEM WITH THERE BRAKES BUT NOTHING HAS EVER COME BACK FROM HYUNDAI SAYING THAT IT IS A PROBLEM, SO I DID THE CALIPER REPLACEMENT ON MY OWN AND YES THE CALIPERS ARE SHOT! NO GOOD. SO WHAT GOOD IS THERE WARRANTY?
DRIVING 15-17 MILES AN HOUR, RUSH HOUR, ON STREET TRIED TO STOP, BUMP CAR IN FRONT, DEALER SAID I NEED AN MASTER CYLINDER AND AN BREAK BOOSTER, BROUGHT MY CAR 4/9/16, CERTIFIED USED CAR, NOW I HAVE TO PAY 1200.00 TO GET THE BRAKES FIX PLUS 500.00 DEDUCTIBLE FOR ACCIDENT PLUS 100.00 DEDUCTIBLE FOR EASYCARE, THIS IS NOT FAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN DEPRESSED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A JUNK YARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000.
I HAD JUST PICKED MY VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER FROM HAVING A 30,000 MILE SERVICE COMPLETED. I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP LEAVING THE PARKING LOT. PROCEEDED TO THE NEXT STOP LIGHT AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE NEXT STOP LIGHT TURNED YELLOW AND I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES. I FELT A POP IN THE BRAKES AND THE PEDDLE WENT DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. I COASTED TO THE NEXT AVAILABLE PLACE THAT I COULD PULL OFF, AND LET THE VEHICLE COAST TO A STOP. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY CAME TO GET THE VEHICLE. I FOLLOWED THE DEALER DRIVER AS HE DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. ON THE WAY THE COURTESY DRIVER CAME BACK WITH THE MECHANIC. THEY POPPED THE HOOD AND HE CHECKED IT OUT. WHEN WE GOT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP I ASKED WHAT THE MECHANIC WAS DOING. HE SAID HE THOUGHT SOMETHING MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CONNECTED FROM THE SERVICE, WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE. THEY INFORMED ME THEY WOULD CALL ME IN THE MORNING WITH WHAT THEY FIND. I HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE AND WE WERE LUCKY THAT IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AT A BUSY INTERSECTION. MY MAIN CONCERN IS KNOWING MY RIGHTS WHEN I DO GET THE VEHICLE AND MY CONCERN THAT AFTER A 30,000 MILE TUNE UP AND A FULL VEHICLE INSPECTION THAT THIS HAPPENED. I AM CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY OF MYSELF, FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
