MY AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON. ALSO MY HORN DOES NOT WORK. I'VE CHANGED FUSES WITH WHAT I THOUGT COULD BE BURNT OUT ASSOCIATED WITH THE HORN BUT STILL DOES NOT WORK. I WAS IN DRIVING MODE WHEN I NOTICED BOTH THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON AND THE HORN NOT WORKING.
THIS STARTED IN JULY 2018. AIRBAG LIGHT ON. TOOK TO DEALER SCANNED FOR ERROR FOR FRONT IMPACT SENSOR. RESCANNED TO REPAIR AND NO ERROR CODE SO RESET LIGHT. DROVE LESS THAN 5 MILES AND LIGHT BACK ON. TOOK AGAIN TO DEALER MARCH 2019. SCANNED FOR ERROR FRONT IMPACT SENSOR. ORDERED PART AND REPLACED SO FAR HAVE OVER $400 INVESTED. NEXT DAY RETURNED TO DEALER AS LIGHT BACK ON. RESCANNED NEED TO REPLACESRSCM AIRBAG MODULE ASSEMBLY AT $779 TO FIX MAYBE. FRUSTRATED CONTACTED HYUNDAI OPENED CASE 15629286. BASICALLY WAS TOLD OUT OF WARRANTY SO THEY CAN DO NOTHING,TAKE UP WITH DEALER. SO SINCE THEN AFRAID TO TRANSPORT FRONT PASSENGER SINCE WAS TOLD THAT AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH. I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT HYUNDAI WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT WITH ALL THE BAD PRESS AND RECALLS REGARDING AIRBAG ISSUES. I HAVE DILIGENTLY KEPT UP WITH THE NUMEROUS RECALLS ON THIS CAR.
BEFORE NOV 6,2018, WE DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH OUR AIR BAG CONTROL SYSTEM. ON NOV 6, 2018, WE TOOK OUR SONATA INTO PARMA HYUNDAI ON BROOKPARK RD IN OHIO AND HAD THEM PERFORM THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT RECALL. THEY SAID IT WAS COMPLETE DESPITE THE NHTSA'S WEBSITE SAYING THE RECALL IS INCOMPLETE. A FEW WEEKS AFTER SAID RECALL WAS COMPLETED BY HYUNDAI OUR AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND HAS STAYED ON. WE TOOK IT BACK TO HYUNDAI AND THEY REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT WITHOUT PAYING $100 SOMETHING DIAGNOSIS FEE. WE NEVER HAD ANY AIRBAG ISSUES WITH OUR CAR UNTIL THEY DID THIS RECALL. HYUNDAI COMPLETEING SAID RECALL CAUSED THE REASON FOR THE RECALL IN THE FIRST PLACE.
THERE IS A RECALL FROM FEB. 2018-HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA (HYUNDAI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2011 SONATA VEHICLES. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT (ACU) MAY SHORT CIRCUIT, PREVENTING THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS, SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS, AND SIDE AIR BAGS FROM DEPLOYING. THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY FOR THIS ISSUE-8 MONTHS LATER! MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON- IN ADDITION TO THIS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE - WHETHER MY AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT- MY VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS THE MANDATORY ANNUAL STATE RMV INSPECTION REQUIRED. HOW AM I TO PASS INSPECTION SO THAT I CAN CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS CAR?
MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA HAD THE AIR BAG LIGHT COME ON. IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BAD SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. TO BUY THIS SENSOR YOU HAVE TO BUY AN ENTIRE SEAT TRACK ASSEMBLY AT A COST OF $1259.00 PLUS LABOR TO INSTALL IT. AFTER LOOKING THIS UP ON THE INTERNET, I SEE MANY HYUNDAI VEHICLES HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED IN A RECALL AS IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND BEEN A PROBLEM WITH MANY VEHICLES.
AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT ON THE DASH HAS BEEN ON FOR WEEKS WHILE IN MOTION, DOES NOT TURN OFF.
TAKATA RECALL...I RECEIVED A URGENT RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING IN AN ACCIDENT. I MADE MANY CALLS TO MY DEALERSHIP AND TO HYUNDAI CORPORATE OFFICES AND ALL I AM TOLD IS "THERE IS NO REMEDY YET". THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I BELIEVE THAT HYUNDAI SHOULD OFFER CAR RENTALS THAN TO HAVE CUSTOMER'S DRIVE IN A VEHICLE WITH AN UNSAFE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG!

THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALL STAR HYUNDAI OF BATON ROUGE (10313 AIRLINE HWY, BATON ROUGE, LA 70816, (225) 274-0071) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 11577274. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.

THERE WERE A TOTAL OF FOUR INJURIES. NONE OF THE INJURIES REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SUPERIOR HYUNDAI SOUTH (238 W MITCHELL AVE, CINCINNATI, OH 45232, (513) 598-8700) WHERE IT WAS DECLARED TOTALED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V137000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS), BUT THEY REJECTED THE CONTACT'S CLAIM FOR A RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD SUDDENLY HAS A LARGE CRACK DIRECTLY ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG.
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2011 SONATA SPORT. IT NOW HAS 41,634 MILES ON IT AND IS EXTREMELY WELL MAINTAINED BY ME. THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ON THE DASH SHOWS A SIGN THAT THERE IS AN AIR BAG PROBLEM. WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE FRONT SEAT, THE DIGITAL WORDS SAY NO PASSENGER AIR BAG ON. DEALER SAYS IT ISN'T COVERED BY REPAIR AND THAT IT IS A COSTLY INVESTIGATION AND REPAIR. I HAVE ANOTHER NEWER SANTA FEE ALSO.THE INDICATOR COMES ON WHILE PARKED AND MOVING

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A FRACTURED RIGHT HAND DUE TO THE IMPACT OF THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG. ALSO, THE CONTACT'S LEFT FOREARM WAS BURNED BY THE SENSATION OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEFLATE AFTER DEPLOYMENT. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A BODY SHOP. IT WAS NOT CONFIRMED IF THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE CRASH. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IN MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA- LIMITED CAME ON WHEN I WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I HAD SOME SENSOR WORK DONE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND COULDN'T START THE CAR. NOW, AIRBAG LIGHT ON. I FEEL SO UNSAFE AND JUST UPSET THAT THIS LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED WHILE I'M DRIVING. THESE SENSOR ISSUES COSTS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX, AND ITS UNFAIR THAT THE CONSUMER HAS TO COVER THESE FAULTY SENSOR ISSUES.

MANUFACTURER RECALL CAMPAIGN 174 OPEN SINCE FEBRUARY 27, 2018 IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. 18V13700 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT SHOULD NOT TAKE 6 MONTHS TO DEVELOP A REPAIR. PLEASE RESEARCH AND ADVISE WHEN REPAIR WILL BE IMPLEMENTED BY HYUNDAI. HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA (HYUNDAI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2011 SONATA VEHICLES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND WANTED TO CHARGE HER FOR THE REPAIRS, CLAIMING THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT RECALL TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, I BELIEVE THE DEALER HYUNDAI HAS FAILED OR UNABLE TO REMEDY THE DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME.
I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM EXPRESSING ABOUT THE AIR BAG RECALL AND MY AIR BAG LIGHT BEING ON. I TRAVEL FOR WORK AND IF AN ACCIDENT WAS TO OCCUR THE AIR BAG MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY. EVERY TIME I CALL, THEY SAY THAT THE MANUFACTURE HAVEN'T SENT IN THE PART YET TO FIX IT. THIS HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.
