The car is making a sound when I step on the brakes. The brakes were just done a couple of months ago. The engine is making a funny sound. The engine light came on but then went off. The air conditioner stop working and heat is only coming out of it.
I own two Hyundai tucsons. I am very concerned about the rise of thefts and the economic damages that this vehicle has caused our nation. Close to home. I have seen my auto insurance increase with each renewal (every 6 months) by $200. So I am paying $400 more a year for the last 2 years which is an $800 increase because I own a Hyundai Tucson and the insure is taking additional precautions due to the safety and economic risk that me owning a Hyundai Tucson has. I am urging the NHTSA to hold Hyundai accountable. It's not just the fast. It's not just deaths. It's not just damage of property and the progress of crimes of stealing a Hyundai. It's all the other innocent people who are paying hundreds if not thousands of dollars more annually because a manufacturer put out a poor product. In 2023 we have now gone through a pandemic. We've gone through inflation and other numerous occurrences such as gas, eggs and milk which have dramatically increased in price because of other outside factors. Having another issue affect innocent families at no fault of their own creates a devastating result for those just trying to keep their head above water and now making a decision of food or other necessities so that they can pay inflated insurance because a company has put out a poor product that has resulted in crime and harm coming to people. Hyundai has had months to issue a recall and to do the right thing. It's clear some intervention is necessary at this point to protect the American consumer.
In the last 6 months my driver side window, front passenger side window and back left side window have failed. To date it has cost over $1300, not including the newly defective rear passenger window. The dealer has no explanation, they act as if they have never seen this before. The explanation appears to be the plastic mechanism that turns the window up and down has disintegrated inside the door panel. Very faulty workmanship.
Both front windows have stopped working. From a Google search on possible fixes, this is a common issue with 2016 Hyundai Tucsons. It’s also very expensive to fix and a great safety hazard.
Component: WIndow Regulators fail, leaving window in down position and unable to be closed. Safety issue: Weather and the elements can enter the car, there is risk that children can fall out of the open window, probably others. Has it been reproduced: My 2016 Tuscon needed its 5th window regulator replacement. I was fortunate that the first 4 were under warranty. It is evident that this is an inherent defect in the Hyundai Tuscon window design. This statement is backed up by the many comments on the Hyundai forum website: https://www.hyundai-forums.com/threads/window-regulator-2016-hyundai-tucson.671843/ At this point every window regulator has been replaced once, and in the case of the drivers window, it was replaced twice. There was no warning that this failure would appear. This component has failed on the following dates: 6/4/2019, 10/30/2019, 1/2/2021 (2 windows), 3/29/2023.
Earlier last year (a few months after purchase), I took my vehicle in for a routine oil change and was informed there was barely any oil in the vehicle. The prior oil change occurred less than 3500 miles before, plus there were no warning lights. After this occurred a second time (only 2600 miles between changes), the dealership recommended a series of oil consumption tests. I was informed the vehicle failed and the information would be provided to corporate. HMA (corporate) declined to address the issue as I was the 2nd owner and purchased the vehicle outside of warranty mileage, 60k. Vehicle was purchased with under 61k miles. With a recent oil change, I was informed that it is a matter of time before my engine fails. I do not know when this will occur and the vehicle gives me NO warning that the oil is low.
The back, driver's side, door will not open from the inside or outside. The issue has been present since the very first week I purchased the car. If this issue happens to all the doors, I could be trapped inside the vehicle, and unable to get out. It absolutely needs to be recalled and replaced by Hyundai.
The passenger side door will not unlock from the outside. You can hear when you press the unlock button but nothing happens you have to physically open the door from the inside to let the person in to the core. Also we have had to replace the driver side and passenger side front window gears or whole panel in the door do you to the gears rotting out because they are cheap plastic pieces. We are now having to replace the third window which is the rear driver side for the same issue. When you open the door the gears look likeThey have eaten each other. It is due to cheek horrible product being used in the door. I see multiple complaints about these two issues and they both should be recall issues. It is also a safety hazard because the windows can fall at any moment and shatter and if the rest of the door handle goes out there is no way to let anyone out of the car from the outside
The window regulator spool has melted on all 4 windows. This vehicle has less than 65000 miles and this should not be an issue. This is a safety issue. We have read hundreds of comments online of the same issue.
Passenger Front door will not open from exterior upon unlocking. Can only open door from inside vehicle by reaching over and releasing inside lever.
Window regulators inoperative on front left window and passenger window on 2016 Hyundai Tucson with only 23,635 miles. Windows remained in down position creating a dangerous driving condition. Prior to this, windows were only opened occasionally for drive up banking or pharmacy drive up.
Three out of the four window regulators quit working over a two year period not all at once. The window motor and regulator still work, they just strip at the gear to lift them.
Driver side door doesn't unlock using KeyFob or by pressing the button to unlock. It takes several attempts before door opens which causes a great concern for safety especially in areas that will require me to hurry and get into my vehicle if I'm alone or after putting my grandson in his carseat. There were no warnings to this happening and it is available for inspection upon request. At this time my car is not under warranty due to warranty running out and I can not afford to pay out of pocket. Please advise what can be done.
Rear driver side door will not open from the inside or outside while unlocked.
Three of my windows stopped working within a few weeks of each other in June 2022 and July 2022. My car has approximately 19,000 miles on it. I took it to the dealership and they said that the window regulators need to be replaced. It costs $741 per window. This is a defect that is occurring with this car's make, model, and year. There are many online forums where other owners of the exact same type of vehicle are experiencing this failure. For example, in this forum there are over 10 owners that have the same issue. Many owners of this car are unable to open their windows anymore unless they can afford to pay the high cost per window. This is putting people's safety at risk because, 1) your car's windows are an emergency exit point if you are in an accident and your doors are nonfunctional, 2) you can't communicate with law enforcement during a traffic stop which puts the officer at risk and yourself because you have to open your door when you can't roll your window down, 3) children in the back seats can't breathe well from the strong wind in their face when the window is stuck rolled down while you are driving. Also debris can fly into the car because the window is not rolled up while driving. Please consider these safety concerns and investigate the fact that there are so many of these cars experiencing this exact defect that is causing multiple windows to fail. This is one website with many forums that report this window failure with this exact type of car: https://www.hyundai-forums.com/search/1269536/?q=windows+tucson&o=relevance Thank you in advance for your time to investigate this concern.
Window regulator on the front passenger side window is no longer working after just over 50,000 miles. Window regulator on the front driver’s side does not always work. I was quoted that it would be a $700 repair by the dealer. Front passenger side window is being held up by card board stuffed inside the door (the dealer’s advice). Door lock actuator on the front passenger side door does not allow you to open the door from the outside when unlocked. Both issues are serious safety concerns if the car were to be in an accident. Both issues are very common with this make and model.
Rear passenger door became unable to be opened. Started out as only a some times issue, but the door can no longer be opened at all. I had a previous car, same year, make, and model that had the same thing happen to both rear passenger doors. Both times it happened the car was still under warranty so I did not have to pay to fix it. That car was totaled and now I have this one. This car is no longer under warranty now though. So this is the 3rd time this problem has happened between 2 cars that I have had that are the same year, make, and model
Regulators and motor breaking in all windows without use. I can’t get a safety inspection with them not working. Many complaints on the internet. If I can’t get a safety inspection, this should constitute a recall.
The driver door makes clicking sound but does not unlock with the rest of the car doors using my automated lock/unlock feature on my key. In searching online, this is a huge/broad issue among Hyundai Tucson 2016/17 owners.
Passenger door wont open when unlocked using the key fob. If opened from the inside and left unlock the door will open.
3 out of the 4 windows do not go down or up with window button. The windows now move down on their own when driving that can cause a distraction if in bad weather like with heavy rain, wind, or sand storm. If I hit a bump in the road the window come down some much distracting my driving ability. I'm having to stop the card and pull up the windows with my hands now which anyone could go to my car now and just slide the windows down with their hand and break in to the suv. This happen just during my warranty but was unable to take it in due to covid restrictions at the time for myself before the time expired on the warranty. This seems like a know issue for the make and model from many in the hyundai tucson community.
The passenger doors, front and back, have stopped opening. The handles from inside and from outside will not open the doors. This is a tremendous safety issue as in the event of a fire, accident, etc people would not be able to exit the vehicle. There is no warning when the doors will not open...it just happens. It has caused a big panic and fear for use of vehicle in the event that soon no doors may operate. This problem is a n issue across the board with Hyundai. Hyundai should be recalling and fixing this before someone is killed because they cannot open a door.
All of the window motors in my doors have broken all at once. The windows will not go down because the motors are broken. There are no warning lights for this. It is is a dangerous risk because if there was an emergency where the windows would need to come down they wouldn’t. I do not see how this isn’t a recall when all FOUR window motors have broken at once.
All 4 window regulators have failed. The first two were replaced by dealer, but now are refusing to replace other two. Windows will not stay shut. Have them wedged up with small pieces of carpet. The back two doors will not open either. They said they are fixing those.
While exiting from interstate the car lights all went out and the car stopped and nothing would work. After a little time the car started and warning lights were on dash. I drove home and then the light would not shut off and I had to manually go turn them off. The new morning the car started and no warning lights were on. Now the radio turns off on it on and the cruse control is not setting. Also the drivers side window stops in when going up.
