TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE BATTERY POWER FAILED AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE STARTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER ENGLEWOOD CHRYSLER JEEP LOCATED AT 100 SYLVAN AVE, ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ 07632 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS, I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE FOR THE DAY AND MY CAR WOULD NOT START. THE CAR ATTEMPTS TO TURN ON BUT IT WON'T TURN OVER. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY BUT IT'S NOT. MY CAR WAS PARKED WHEN THIS EVENT OCCURRED,
WHILE DRIVING, ENTERTAINMENT DISPLAY CUTS OUT WITHOUT ANY INPUT BY USER. USUALLY ENDS UP COMING BACK ON MINUTES LATER. WHILE VEHICLE IS OFF AND STATIONARY, CAR DOES NOT REGISTER LOCK BUTTON BEING PRESSED ON INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE OR FROM THE KEY FOB. IF IT DOES, THERE IS ALWAYS ONE DOOR THAT STAYS UNLOCKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BATTERY DRAINED, THE TIRES LOCKED UP, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER AND STALLED. THE BATTERY WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ROCKWALL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (970 E INTERSTATE 30, ROCKWALL, TX 75087, (469) 698-2100) AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
DRIVING AND THE WHOLE PANEL WENT DARK, RADIO AND EVERYTHING - CAME BACK ON APPROX 2 HOURS LATER. THIS ONLY HAPPENED ONCE. THEN MY START/STOP STOPPED WORKING. WHEN I TRY TO START MY VEHICLE IT DOES NOT START BUT SAYS ENGINE IS RUNNING. I HAD TO GO OUTSIDE MY VEHICLE TO REMOTE START IT IN ORDER TO GO. VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. THIS ALL RECENTLY STARTED TO HAPPEN. A LIGHTNING BOLT SYMBOL APPEARED ON MY GAGE AS WELL AS MY ENGINE LIGHT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND SLOWING TO A STOP, AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TATE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (7429 RITCHIE HWY, GLEN BURNIE, MD 21061, (410) 766-2560) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE MAIN BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
MY VEHICLE START/STOP CAUSED ME TO STALL OUT FOR 20MIN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, I WAS NOT HIT, AND I PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND WAVED PEOPLE BY, I HAD TO TURN MY VEHICLE OFF, AND THEN PUT THE PARKING BREAK ON, THEN DISENGAGE THE PARKING BREAK, RESTART MY VEHICLE, AND PRESS THE STAR/STOP BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF, AND SINCE THIS INCIDENT, MY START STOP SYSTEM HAS NOT WORKED BUT I CONSTANTLY HAVE AN UMBRELLA CON ON MY CONSOLE THAT IS A CIRCLE WITH AN EXCLAMATION MARK. I THEN WENT TO ORIELLY AUTO PARTS NEAR MY HOME FOR A DIAGNOSIS, AND IT WAS A MANUFACTURE CODE THAT THEY HAD NO CLUE WAS ABOUT. MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT ON A PUBLIC CITY STREET WHEN IT SHUT DOWN AND STALLED OUT, I OBSTRUCTED TRAFFIC FOR TEN MINS UNTIL I FIGURED OUT HOW TO GET MY CAR TO TURN BACK ON.
FOUR TIMES NOW AFTER THE STOP/START SYSTEM HAS ENGAGED WHILE AT A STOP AND I RELEASE THE BREAK TO START DRIVING, THE CAR EITHER FLASHES 4 WHEEL DRIVE UNAVAILABLE AND THEN GOES INTO LIMP MODE NOT ALLOWING THE CAR TO DRIVE OVER 13MPH UNTIL THE CAR IS RESTARTED OR MOST RECENTLY STATES TRANSMISSION WARNING SERVICE ENGINE AND WON'T ALLOW THE CAR TO DRIVE AT ALL UNTIL I RESTART THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. BOTH TIMES AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR HAS DRIVEN WITH NO ISSUES BUT MOST RECENTLY THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT HAS REMAINED ON. THESE ISSUES ONLY HAPPEN WITH THE STOP/START FUNCTION SO I HAVE TO REMEMBER TO TURN THIS FEATURE OFF EVERYTIME I START THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION IN THE CITY LEAVING ME TO SIT IN THE MIDDLE AND WAIT FOR MY CAR TO SHUT OFF, TURN BACK ON, AND HOPEFULLY DRIVE AWAY WHILE HOPING NO CAR DRIVES RIGHT INTO ME WHILE TRYING TO DO THIS. VERY UNSAFE!
2018 JEEP COMPASS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE PURCHASE NINE MONTHS AGO. I WAS ON A CITY STREET BOTH TIMES AND IN MOTION.*DT*JB
2018 JEEP COMPASS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO VEHICLE'S DASHBOARD, WHILE DRIVING, WILL START TO FLASH THEN VEHICLE WILL PROCEED TO CUT OFF. *AS THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE ONLY NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE AND UPDATES. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. *JS
JUST STARTED VEHICLE AND PLACED INTO DRIVE. VEHICLE MOVED 5 FEET IN PARKING LOT AND STALLED. FAN AND ALL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS CONTINUED RUNNING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS LIT ON CONTROL PANEL. I PRESSED AND DEPRESSED THE IGNITION BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES. THE NOTHING HAPPENED. NO STARTING AT ALL. LEFT THE VEHICLE. PARKING LIGHTS AND ALL ELECTRONICS CONTINUED ON. I COULD NOT SHUT OFF. AFTER 10 MINUTES I WENT BACK TO VEHICLE AND PRESSED THE INGNITION SWITCH AND THE VEHICLE STARTED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL UNKNOWN INDICATORS FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE TURN SIGNALS AND BLIND SPOT MONITOR FAILED TO WORK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COMPUTER WAS IN A CONSTANT LOOP OF TURNING ON AND OFF. TALLAHASSEE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM FIAT (3987 W TENNESSEE ST, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32304) SCHEDULED A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT FOR DECEMBER 9, 2019. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
AUTO START/STOP DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY 100% OF THE TIME. PULLING UP TO A RED LIGHT THE ENGINE STOPS AND ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN BACK ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. CAN BECOME A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF THERE IS A VEHICLE RUNNING UP BEHIND YOU AND YOUR VEHICLE REFUSES TO START BACK UP.
MY TOUCH SCREEN JUST STARTING HAVING LINES THROUGH IT AND IS GETTING WORSE ONLY 22,000 MILES ON MY JEEP
2018 JEEP COMPASS LIMITED BOUGHT BRAND NEW WOULD NOT START WITH APPROX. 240 MILES ON IT. WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE. CALLED DEALER, WAS TOLD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. CAR STARTED AFTER SOME TIME, CANCELLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. I DROVE CAR TO DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THEY DID DIAGNOSTICS, SAID IT WAS SOFTWARE AND SAID CAR SEEMED TO FIX ITSELF. I DROVE CAR HOME THAT SAME DAY. SECOND TIME ,SAME ISSUE, CAR WOULD NOT START WITH APPRX. 3600 MILES . I HAD JUST COME OUT OF THE SUPERMARKET. CALLED DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR, CALLED JEEP ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, WHO LEFT ME SITTING IN THE COLD FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS. COLD AND VERY ANGRY I CANCELLED THAT TOW AND USED MY TRIPLE AAA AND MY LOCAL TOW GUY,(WHO HAD THE JEEP LOADED ON THE FLATBED IN HALF AN HOUR) AND DROVE ME AND MY JEEP TO MY DEALER. SERVICE IS TRYING TO FIX THE CAR. THEY HAVE HAD IT FOR 3 DAYS NOW AND THROUGH THE WEEKEND. JEEP PROVIDED A RENTAL FOR 1 WEEK. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE WITH THIS CAR. HOPING THEY CAN FIX IT OR IT IS MAYBE A LEMON. BOTH TIMES THE CAR WAS PARKED. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR LEAVE ME STRANDED LIKE THIS. I DO HAVE A CASE FILE WITH JEEP AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO ME IN 1 BUSINESS DAY. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN, I CALLED THEM BACK AND WAS TOLD I WAS GIVEN INCORRECT INFORMATION AND THAT ACTUALLY THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME IN 24-48 HOURS. SO, I BETTER GET A PHONE CALL OR E-MAIL ON MONDAY. JEEP KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I THOUGHT I WAS BUYING A SAFE CAR.. I DON'T FEEL THAT WAY NOW.
I MY JEEP WAS IN MOTION WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT AND THEN DID NOT LET ME GO OVER 34 MILES ! MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A RED LIGHT WITH THE LIGHTNING BOLT CAME ON ! TOOK IT TO DEALER THEY SAID IT'S BECAUSE I NEED AN OIL CHANGE ! GOT OIL CHANGED JUST TO PROVE IT WASN'T BECAUSE OF THAT AND THEN THE DAY AFTER MY PARKING BREAK CAME ON AFTER PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY A SEMI !!! TOOK IT TO THE DEALER LAST MONTH FOR THE SAME THING AND THEY JUST KEEP SAYING IT'S BECAUSE OF DIFFERENT PROBLEMS LIKE A SOFTWARE UPDATE ! BUT THE CODES AS WHAT THEY ARE SAYING DON'T MATCH ! IT'S PUT ME AND MY CHILD IN DANGER !
LIGHTS OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ARE NOT ABLE TO BE DIMMED.
VEHICLE UNINTENTIONALLY 'REMOTE' STARTED IN MY CLOSED GARAGE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.THERE IS NO OPTION, EITHER BY SOFTWARE INTERFACE OR MECHANICAL MEANS TO DISABLE THE 'REMOTE START' FEATURE. I SUSPECT THE KEY FOB WAS INADVERTENTLY PRESSED WHILE IN MY PANTS POCKET. I AM AWARE THAT THE REMOTE START FUNCTION TIMES OUT & THE ENGINE STOPS AFTER 15 MIN BUT IN A CLOSED GARAGE THE CARBON MONOXIDE LEVELS COULD BECOME HAZARDOUS. THIS IS A CONVENIENT FEATURE BUT OWNERS SHOULD HAVE THE ABILITY TO DISABLE IT OR POSSIBLY A THIRD FOB BUTTON PRESS WOULD MAKE IT SAFER.
THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE SENSOR CONTROLLING THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE CONSOLE AND NAVIGATION SCREEN. AT NIGHT, THE BRIGHTNESS GETS SET TO THE HIGHEST SETTING, WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY BLINDING, AND THE DIMMER SWITCH DOES DOES NOT WORK. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IS CAUSING HARM TO MY EYES.
INSTRUMENT PANEL AND INFOTAINMENT SCREEN DIMMER CONTROL DOES NOT WORK. THE LIGHT FROM THESE SCREENS IS TOO BRIGHT AT NIGHT. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE GLARE FROM THE SCREENS MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE FORWARD.
