Driving on interstate, a flex pipe (part of the exhaust) fell off at the forward end, Dragging the ground and damaging the catalytic converter and rear exhaust pipe. This was repaired by the dealership, but the flex pipe was not covered under the extended Warranty program. The vehicle had just over 50,000 miles on the odometer.
On 4/17/25 at approximately 450pm eastern standard time the information hub on the dash indicated a door fault alarm and as i was turning left the doors unlocked and the passenger side door opened causing the passenger to almost fall out of the vehicle. If the passenger would have not had his seat belt on he would have fell out of the vehicle and potentailly been run over. I am worried about driving tbe vehicle as this sitiation could cause serious injury and cause a vehicle accident and loss of life.
I got an alert on the dash that said tire pressure sensor fault. It is for the passenger side rear tire. I had a dealership look at it and they said the sensor was fine and the battery was fine. They could not find anything wrong with it but it is still alerting. Now my husbands Lincoln MKZ 2017 is doing it as well for the same tire, passenger rear.
Re: Safety Recall Notice 24S35 / NHTSA Recall 24V368, dealer claims to have repaired this recall. Problem persists. Lincoln/Ford Motors customer relations refuses to assist.
I have taken my car into the dealer at least five times due to the blue backup camera issue, I have been told by the techs that the camera has been replaced however I am still having the issue on occasion. On the early morning of Feb 16, 2024 around 5:30am, As I was backing out of my driveway I actually backed into my husband and knocked him down, he was walking behind my car, Due to the blue backup camera I was unable to see him and none of the warning lamps or messages alerted me prior to impact.
The panoramic sunroof exploded without warning while traveling at 70 MPH on interstate 55 in Southaven Mississippi. Glass entered the vehicle resulting in cuts on front passenger arms. My husband was able to maintain control of the vehicle and exit safely on the next exit ramp. We notified Southaven police and inspection of the vehicle by ourselves and the officer resulted in no foreign objects causing the explosion. The sound of the pressurized boom and following spray of glass shards was very dangerous and could have easily resulted in a vehicle crash or more serious injury from glass debris.
The passenger door switch for the door release is inoperable which prevents the door from being opened from the inside. I’m scheduling a visit to the dealership for replacement. Loss of switch operation prevents easy exit during an emergency due to not having a mechanical backup release mechanism as on the driver side door. The vehicle did not notify that the door switch was inoperable.
The instrument cluster gives multiple message fault. Navigation and voice activation inoperative. Lincoln cannot resolve the issues. Lincoln has reprogrammed and reset the system and the issue still exist for over 3 months. Lincoln stated the APIM must be rework and they do not know when this will be provide with new date. The phone, radio/sirius sometimes won't change and the screen freezes up at random. I have 17746 miles and still under full warranty and lincoln won't replace system.
The rear back-up camera regularly fails during vehicle operation, sometimes as soon as the vehicle is turned on. Turning the vehicle off and then on again will fix it temporarily. According to vehicle recall number 21V223000, the image processing module may become unable to provide video feed to the display, resulting in a loss of backup camera image. Not stated in the recall is that this has also affected (optional) side and forward cameras on the vehicle. These fail less frequently than the rear camera. The loss of video from the rear camera increases the chances of the driver running into something or someone while reversing. The vehicle has been submitted multiple times to the dealership where it was purchased in order to have it repaired. Each time the service department failed to repair it but sent it back as if it was repaired. The problem first arose a few months after the vehicle was purchased, and the instances of camera failure have increased over time.
WHILE SLOWING DOWN FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT, WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSED, THE VEHICLE CONTINUE TO MOVE TOWARDS THE INTERSECTION. HAD TO QUICKLY PUT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND TURN OFF IGNITION.
