TAKATA INFLATORS - RECALL WAS FEB 2016 --- I DRIVE THIS CAR EVERY DAY AND IT HAS BEEN 18 MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL. I WANT THE AIR BAGS REPLACED IMMEDIATELY - IT HAS BEEN LPONG ENOUGH TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE OVER A YEAR AGO. THE DEALER (MERCEDES-BENZ OF EL CAJON, 1111 WAGNER DR, EL CAJON, CA 92020 (619) 365-9439) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE RECALL NOTICE STATED THAT OWNERS WOULD RECEIVE A SECOND NOTICE WHEN REMEDY PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE. "TAKATA RECALL" I BOUGHT MY CAR USED IN JANUARY 2017 WITH AN OPEN RECALL FROM JANUARY 2016, IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW AND MERCEDES BENZ OF WALNUT CREEK HAS STATED THEY WILL CONTACT ME WHEN THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I WORRY CONSTANTLY ABOUT DRIVING MY CAR WITH DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS AND WORRY ABOUT MY SAFETY. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT TAKES ALMOST 2 YEARS TO REPLACE AN ITEM THAT CAN POSSIBLY CAUSE MY DEATH. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME AND I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY.
TAMARA RECALL. IT'S BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS SINCE THE RECALL FOR THIS MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND DEALERS ARE STILL UNABLE TO FIX DUE TO NO PARTS BEING AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL GOOD MORNING, IT HAS BEEN ABOUT A YEAR SINCE I RECEIVED A LETTER SAYING THAT MB WAS WORKING ON A REMEDY FOR THE AIR BAGS, AND ONCE ONE IS FOUND, I WOULD BE NOTIFIED TO BRING IT IN FOR SERVICE. I BELIEVE THIS PROCESS IS RATHER UNTIMELY, AND IF IT IS SUCH A SAFETY ISSUE, WHY AM I STILL WAITING A YEAR LATER. PLEASE LET ME KNOW OF ANY UPDATES, THANK YOU.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE 2 VEHICLES AFFECTED AND THERE IS NO PLANNED REMEDY. I HAVENT RECEIVED ANY UPDATES. THIS IS GOING ON 2 YEARS. IT WILL BE TOO LATE WHEN SOMEONE GETS HARMED OR KILLED. 2014 DODGE AVENGER AND THIS MERCEDES.
TAKATA RECALL - NO REMEDY IN A TIMELY MANNER. NO ACCIDENT BUT I WANT THE ISSUE FIXED

I HAVE BEEN CHECKING WITH MERCEDES SINCE THE RECALL WAS INITIATED IN THE SYSTEM (OVER A YEAR...ALMOST 2 NOW) ABOUT GETTING THE AIRBAGS REPLACED AS MY NOW PREGNANT WIFE DRIVES THAT VEHICLE. THEY HAVE CONFIRMED THE AIRBAGS IN THE CAR ARE THE RECALLED TAKATA AIRBAGS BUT, NO ACTIONS HAVE BEEN TAKEN BY MERCEDES TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO THIS RECALL FOR RESOLUTION THUS PLACING MILLIONS IN HARMS WAY AS A RESULT OF INACTION. I WONDER WHAT THE NEWS WOULD THINK OF THIS OR MY ATTORNEY?

TAKATA RECALL. THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN FEBRUARY 2016 AND STILL NO REMEDY IS AVAILABLE 17 MONTHS LATER. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO OPERATE MY VEHICLE FOR 17 MONTHS DUE TO THIS UN-RESOLVED ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER WAS CHARGING FOR A DIAGNOSTIC FOR THE SRS WARNING INDICATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. TAKATA RECALL, THE AIRBAG HAS NOT YET BEEN REPLACED.
TAKATA RECALL - RECALL WAS ISSUED IN FEBRUARY 2016 AND IT IS NOW ALMOST OCTOBER 2016. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY SAID THE PARTS ARE NOT IN YET FOR THE RECALL. IN THE LETTER I WAS SENT IT SAID THAT THIS COULD CAUSE DEATH TO THE DRIVER AND I HAVE TO DRIVE THIS CAR DAILY. UNACCEPTABLE. WHAT IS BEING DONE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE?
TAKATA RECALL. MERCEDES-BENZ USA (MBUSA) HAS BEEN UNABLE TO PROVIDE US WITH ANY ESTIMATE WHATSOEVER AS TO WHEN OUR VEHICLE MAY BE REPAIRED. WE WERE NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL IN MAY. JUST YESTERDAY (15 SEPTEMBER) WE WERE TOLD THAT NHTSA WAS DETERMINING WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE TO MERCEDES-BENZ, AND THAT THERE IS NO WAY MBUSA CAN TELL US EVEN APPROXIMATELY WHEN THE VEHICLE CAN BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE NHTSA WAS IN CHARGE OF THE COORDINATED REPLACEMENT PLAN. THAT'S NOT WHAT YOUR WEB SITE SAYS. MBUSA CLAIMS THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY SAFE TO DRIVE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME TAKATA PSDI-5 DRIVERS-SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR WHICH HAS KILLED AT LEAST TEN PEOPLE IN OTHER AUTOMOBILES. MBUSA BASES THIS CLAIM ON THE ASSERTION THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A REPORTED DEATH OR INJURY CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR IN A MERCEDES VEHICLE TO DATE. TO USE THAT ASSERTION AS THE BASIS FOR PUTTING MANY THOUSANDS OF MOTORISTS AT AN INCREASED RISK OF DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY IN MERCEDES-BENZ VEHICLES SEEMS HIGHLY IRRESPONSIBLE. IT IS NOT REASONABLE TO ASK THE MOTORIST TO ASSUME THIS RISK. I DON'T SEE ANY EVIDENCE THAT THE COMPANY HAS A SENSE OF URGENCY ABOUT THIS RECALL, MUCH LESS A REAL PLAN FOR GETTING THE REPAIRS DONE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCEDES-BENZ C230 (NA). WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE FOREHEAD AND SHOULDER, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
"TAKATA RECALL" ON MY 2007 MERCEDES. I DID NOT RECEIVE A LETTER FROM MERCEDES ABOUT THE TAKATA RECALL . I FOUND OUT THROUGH THE INTERNET. I WENT TO MY LOCAL MERCEDES DEALERSHIP AND ASK ABOUT GETTING A RENT A CAR UNTIL PARTS WERE AVAILABLE, WHICH THEY REFUSED. I ADVISED THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO DRIVE THE UNTIL IT WAS REPAIRED, DUE TO SEVERAL DEATHS. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT, "IT WAS NOT LIKELY TO HAPPEN," ON THE RECALL INFORMATION THAT I PULLED UP ON THE INTERNET, IT SAYS THAT THE RECALL CAME OUT ON FEB 11 2016, TODAY IS APRIL 27, AND I HAVEN'T HAD ANY COMMUNICATION FROM MERCEDES, SO I HAVE A CAR SETTING IN THE GARAGE THAT I CAN'T DRIVE. JUST TWO WEEK AGO AN 18 YR OLD GIRL WAS KILLED IN HER HONDA, WHEN SHE HAD A MINOR ACCIDENT. SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE DIED, DUE TO THIS FINDER-BENDER. I WOULD LIKE FOR SOMEONE IN NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE WHY I AM NOT GETTING ANY UPDATE FROM MERCEDES ? WHEN WILL PARTS BE AVAILABLE TO INSTALL ? I WAS ON THE FREEWAY DRIVING TO WORK WITH A CO-WORKER WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IN MY 2007 C230 DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NOT A COLLISION OR CONTACT WITH MY VEHICLE AT ALL. THE BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ARM REST STRUCK MY PASSENGER RIGHT ARM QUITE VIOLENTLY CAUSING HER PAIN FOR 4 DAYS AND THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG CONSTRICTED AND PUT A 4 INCH CUT ON MY NECK. WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MERCEDES OF LAGUNA NIGUEL WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW ONLY 2 MONTHS AGO THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR THE AIRBAGS SITTING SMALL SCRATCHES ON BOTH PASSENGER SIDE RIMS AND THEIR CLAIM OF THE TIRES BUBBLING AND PROOF THE VEHICLE WAS IN A COLLISION. HOWEVER 10 DAYS PREVIOUSLY I HAD ACCIDENTALLY SCRAPED THE VEHICLES RIMS WHILE PARKING. I CAN ASSURE YOU THIS VEHICLE WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WHEN I WENT IN FOR REPAIRS TO THE AIRBAGS AND THE EVENTS I HAVE DESCRIBED ARE EXACTLY AS THEY OCCURRED. THE DEALERSHIP ASKED ME TO CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY, WHICH I DID, HOWEVER I RELAYED THE SAME INFORMATION TO THEM AS I AM RELAYING TO YOU. I AM OUTRAGED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND FEEL THEY SHOULD REPAIR THE FAULTY AIRBAGS ON THIS VEHICLE. PLEASE ADVISE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY THREE MONTH OLD 07 MERCEDES BENZ C230 SPORT SEDAN. I HAD 1 PASSENGER WITH ME AND I ENTERED THE INTERSECTION IN THE#1 LANE AND I FELT AN IMPACT TO THE DRIVER DOOR AS THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I STEERED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT , CAUSING THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TO FISHTAIL IN THE ISLAND. AS I WENT ACROSS THE LANES I STEERED TO THE LEFT TO AVOID THE FRONT END. MY PASSENGER REAR TIRE HIT THE CURB. AS I EXITED THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND AND NOTHING IN THE ROADWAY. THE CAR HAD NO DAMAGE, JUST SCRATCHES TO THE BODY. BOTH REAR RIMS HAD DAMAGE FROM THE FISHTAIL EFFECT. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MERCEDES BENZ ABOUT THE AIRBAGS MALFUNCTIONING. MERCEDES SENT A REPRESENTATIVE, WHO DETERMINED ME THAT I MUST HAVE RAN OVER SOMETHING IN THE ROAD, CAUSING THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE TO LOCK, WHICH RESULTED IN LOSS OF CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. IT HIT THE CURB, CAUSING THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. I WENT OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE A LOOK UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. I OBSERVED NO DAMAGE UNDERNEATH. THE ONLY DAMAGE WAS TO THE INSIDE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE WHICH HAD A LIGHT SCRATCH MARK WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN A DENT. THEY STATED IT WAS MY PROBLEM, AND THEY DID NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAG. I CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ COLLISION CENTER ABOUT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. MECHANIC STATED THE SENSOR FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS IN THE DOOR AND SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF IF SOMETHING HIT THE RIGHT POINT. I CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ CORPORATION ASKING TO SPEAK TO THE REPRESENTATIV E WHO CAME OUT WITH THE DECISION, THEY DENIED MY REQUEST. I INFORMED MERCEDES BENZ THAT MAYBE THERE WAS NO A DEFECT IN OTHER MERCEDES BENZ VEHICLES, BUT THERE WAS ONE WITH MINE. I TOLD THEM THAT I AM A POLICE OFFICER AND LUCKILY I KNEW HOW TO MANUEVER A CAR IN THAT TYPE OF SITUATION BECAUSE OF ALL THE TRAINING I HAVE HAD. I TOLD THEM IF IT WAS SOMEBODY ELSE THE CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN TOTALED AND SOMEONE COULD HAVE DIED. THEY TOLD ME POUND SAND, WELL NOT IN THOSE EXACT WORDS.*AK
