Yesterday, halfway through the freeway, I stopped speeding up and the troubleshooting lights turned on at the CVT at Lus from Check Engine, I was able to step aside and the transmission box stopped working and I had to request towing service to the dealership and today they called me to tell me they need to replace the transmission.
Recently purchased a new 2024 Nissan Altima SL in December 2023. Found the backup camera safety component display to have a poor-quality, low resolution, distorted image. Guidelines are not sharp and objects in the backup path are obscured and practically invisible. In the evening the view is so bad the camera is practically useless...even without bad weather. Especially at night, this can be a hinderance rather than an aid to safety. I took the vehicle in for service at the dealer in January and again in May. I was told there was no fault with the camera or display. Another same model vehicle was shown to me, but it was in the daytime and although the image was also of poor quality, they said this was normal. I was also shown a Rogue and there was an absolutely perfect image. They admitted something was different but still said the image on my car had NO FAULT. They could not do anything not even trying another camera. They said I needed to contact NISSAN. This poor-quality image was also present on the front and side cameras. My previous car was a 2019 Altima Platinum which had great camera clarity as it should be. I am beginning to believe the manufacturer received defective cameras or chose to use a lower cost camera in their vehicles. I paid a premium price for a high-tech vehicle with many safety features but received a poor-quality unsafe feature that should not be ignored.
Recently purchased a NISSAN Altima 2024. Found the backup/camera safety component as well as front and side cameras extremely cloudy whether its in the day or night. Not to mention during inclement weather it gets worse. It is to the point I cannot see clearly behind or my surroundings with these cameras. Sun reflection blinds every thing making it impossible to see. Brought it up to the sales person the same day I purchased it. He mentioned it was only the protection film on the dash screen. Once removed the images would be clear. Which was not the case. Now comparing to a Sentra 2021, I previously had. The images were so much clearer. Upon taking it in to the dealership after my 1st month of purchase; the advisor straight up told me they would be unable to do anything regarding this matter. As it was due to a new manufacturer nissan was working with and not the same as before. He also mentioned i was not the only one to show the same concern. He explained whether they changed the cameras, it wouldn't make a difference at all. I would still be dissatisfied. To be quiet honest, I wonder whether these cameras even meet the Proper Safety Standards. Where I live, I depend on the cameras on a daily basis due to tight squeeze areas. Unfortunately at this time, I'm now considering buying extra cameras to help the situation I'm in. As I am now concerned that it may pose a safety. This should not be the case.
Backup camera is subpar. Had 2022 Nissan Pathfinder and that camera was great. My nieces 2021 Nissan Versa back up camera is better quality than mine.
The sound of the horn is so low/faint that it can be barely be heard which can ultimately lead to a “major” accident. I implore you to issue a recall in order for the manufacturer to replace the inferior horns.
Recently purchased said vehicle. Found the back up/camera/safety component substandard, especially when compared to other makes/models including their own Sentry. The resolution is so low that images are hard to discern; are mottled gray like a 1950 black and white movie. When backing up in low light (i.e. garage, overcast, rainy), it is nearly impossible to discern objects. I actually took vehicle in and asked them to check the camera as I thought there was something wrong with it. On line reviews of this make/model confirm the poor camera quality. This leads to the question "Does this back up camera/images even meet required safety standards?" Since the vehicle is so new, there may not be many, if any, complaints, yet. Other Nissan models (i.e. Sentry) have the expected quality camera image (i.e. discern objects and color clarity). What went amiss here and why was this important feature quality omitted from the Altima? I rely heavily on the image, especially in parking lots and where there is heavy pedestrian traffic as many other people probably do.
