We started noticing the speed gauge losing speed while driving at around the first of May through June gradually getting worse. When in the last week in June, if you tried to go 70 MPH, on the highway, the vehicle would lose power, everything would shut down. Yes it could be harmful on the highway to the passengers and other cars passengers, if it just stalled in the middle of the highway. We have taken the car to a local transmission shop last week. It is at the transmission shop. It was determined that the CVT transmission would have to be replaced. The shop is repairing it now. I thought it was a wonderful car, that would last longer than 3 years. Therefore, I am extremely worried about the cost to fix it. I still owe around $7,200 on it.. I turned [XXX] this year and [XXX]. I would not have bought it if I knew this would happen. Nissan knew about the problem before I bought it. Then I read about them fixing the problem as of July 3. I did report this to Nissan about us having something going wrong with the car. I have not received any word back from Nissan. On [XXX] approximately around [XXX] My Nissan Maximum was on fire while I was at work. I begin working at 8:30 am and the vehicle was parked two hours later my coworker ran telling me my car was on fire. The police and fire rescue was called to the scene. The police inspected my vehicle and I have the police report. On 12/13/24 at 1:32pm I spoke with Vaibhav the consumer Affairs Representative from Nissan Manufacturer and he confirmed the vehicle has two recalls on the ABS braking system. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I’m havin transmission problems with the car it’s the 3rd transmission I had put in this an it has 70,000 miles an it’s the 3rd time paying out of pocket
Car randomly ahutting off while driving. No lights no warning justt dies. While caause accident when ot randomly die in the road.
The black plastic piece on the rear right side of my rear windshield fell off in the first 30 days of having it took to deal they tried to make me pay 1000 dollars to fix a 100 dollar part. And it's been a year now and they still refuse to fix it
I first experienced this problem before January 2021. While driving the car it will suddenly experience a loss of power while stepping on the gas. It will do this under normal driving conditions. It has done it while I am driving straight on a street or highway or when I am turning a corner. I have narrowly missed being rear-ended or broad sided when it does it. I took it to Ingram Park Nissan in San Antonio January 2021 and they told me the problem was a bad battery. I had them replace it. (I am an over-the road truck driver and don't drive the car very often since I am usually on the road for 2-3 weeks at a time. There are times that I have only driven the car less than 75 miles when I come home and the car won't always lose power.) The car has continued to have the same problem. I took it in to Ancira Nissan at the manufacturers request on 8-3-21. They diagnosed the problem as being a bad battery and alternator. I had them replaced and picked up the car on 8-14-21. While driving the car later on in the evening on 8-14-21 I experienced the same problem. Ancira had the car for 11 days and it is still not fixed. I don't know exactly what component or system is failing and Nissan doesn't seem to know as well. When the problem occurs several lights will come on on the dash (traction control, ABS, air bag, seat belt, a triangle with an exclamation point). There are other Nissan Maxima owners who have posted comments on car websites who are experiencing the same problems. The other owners have said that they have had their cars misdiagnosed by dealers and continue to have the same problem. The problem seems to be mainly happening with 2016 and 2017 Nissan Maximas. I worry that the car will lose power when I least expect it and cause someone to crash into me.
2016 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH LOW MILEAGE OF 47,000 MILES HAS A BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE DEALERS' SHOP WITHIN LAST 2 YEARS TO GET DEALING WITH ISSUES SUCH AS TRANSMISSION REPLACED. BATTERY CHARGING LIGHT AND BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHT FLASHING ON AND OFF SINCE LAST CAR SHOP VISIT. BURNING SMELL AFTER DRIVING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. DEALER SERVICE TECH CLAIMS HE DOESN'T GET THE FLASHING LIGHT WHILE OUT TEST DRIVING VEHICLE. ON 4/7/21, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STOPS IN MIDDLE OF PARKING LOT AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. HAVING IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. CAR CURRENTLY IN SHOP FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS. IT WAS JUST DISCOVERED TODAY, 4/20/21 THE ALTERNATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACE FOR THE 3RD TIME.
DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. NOTHING HIT IT. SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN BLAST AND THEN I STARTED HEARING LITTLE CHUNKS OF GLASS FLYING OFF MY CAR - HITTING THE TRUNK AND ALSO COMING THROUGH THE MATERIAL COVER INTO MY CAR. WASHING MY HAIR LATER I HAD CHUNKS OF GLASS IN MY HAIR BUN.
SUN ROOF , WHISTLES SO LOUDLY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 65, DOES NOT SEAL PROPERLY.
SO I HAVE HAD MY NISSAN FOR A YEAR NOW AND I HAVE NEVER HIT ANYONE AND NO ONE HAS EVER HIT ME. SO AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK MY MIRROR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THE ONE OUTSIDE, JUST CAME OFF AND WENT FLYING.
WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON INTERSTATE 10 HATING WEST TOWARDS TEXAS ON VACATION THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. I FEEL THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE THAT TEMPERED GLASS IS BEING USED FOR A SUNROOF ABOVE A DRIVER AND NOT LAMINATED GLASS.
THE OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRRORS AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST TO A LOWER VIEW WHEN THE CAR IS BACKING UP. WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN D (DRIVE), THE MIRRORS ARE SUPPOSED TO RETURN TO THE NORMAL SETTING. THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR DOES NOT; IT NEEDS TO BE MANUALLY RESET EACH TIME.
I JUST MERGED ONTO THE HIGHWAY GOING I-55 SOUTH FROM COUNTYLINE RD, WHEN I HEARD A VERY LOUD NOISE SIMILAR TO A GUN SHOT IN CLOSE RANGE AND WAS LITERALLY FRIGHTENING. THEN I HEARD AIR SEEPING THROUGH MY SUNROOF AREA SO I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE I STARTED TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLELY AND I HAD MY 7 MONTH OLD IN THE CAR AS WELL. I WAS ABLE TO LOOK ON TOP OF THE CAR AND SAW THAT THE FRONT SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GRAY DANIELS NISSAN NORTH IN JACKSON, MS. THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS WILL HAVE TO FALL UNDER MY INSURANCE BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. THIS IS A DEFECT ON HOW THIS MODEL CAR HANDLES PRESSURE CAUSING THE SUNROOF TO EXPLODE! MY EARS AND HEAD ARE ACHING DUE TO THE EXPLOSIVE SOUND.
