TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO EXCEED 5 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND CHARGE WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PARK THE VEHICLE AT A NEARBY PARKING LOT. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BATTERY AND DROVE HOME; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED SHORTLY AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V319000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE WAS LOW. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
BATTERY AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AT THE SAME TIME WHILE DRIVING DOWN A MAIN STREET, LIGHT WILL TURN ON AND OFF. AFTER DRIVING FOR AROUND AN HOUR CAR TAKES AROUND 30 SECONDS TO ACTUALLY GO WHEN PRESSING ON GAS.

LATER, AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED. THE BATTERY WAS RECHARGED AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WERE NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE 2005 MURANO SLOWED DOWN, I PRESSED MORE FIRMLY ON THE GAS AND IT DID NOTHING. I PULLED ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR HAD SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. I TRIED RESTARTING THE MURANO SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO LUCK. I HAD TO CALL FOR A FLAT BED TOW TRUCK WHICH TOOK 5 PLUS HOURS OF ME SITTING IN THE FREEZING COLD WITH NO POWER IN MY CAR IN THE DEAD OF WINTER. VEHICLE WAS TOWED HOME AND I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY. I WENT TO PEP BOYS AND PURCHASED A BRAND NEW BATTERY AND HAD PEP BOYS INSTALL IT FOR ME. THE NEXT NIGHT AS I WAS DRIVING MY FIANCE TO HIS HOUSE THE 2005 MURANO AGAIN LOST MOMENTUM AND WITHIN SECONDS SHUT DOWN. AND AGAIN I COULD NOT TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON. I HAD TO CALL FOR ANOTHER FLAT BED TOW TRUCK AND WAIT LUCKILY ONLY 3 HOURS THIS TIME FOR THEM TO SHOW UP. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR IN THE VEHICLE AND ANOTHER NEW BATTERY. THAT WAS IN NOVEMBER OF 2018, IT IS NOW FEBUARY 2019 AND I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES SINCE. WHY IS THIS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL THAT THERE WAS FOR THE 2005 NISSAN MURANO? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY REFUSE TO COVER THE COST WHEN THEY HAD TO RECALL HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF THIS CAR FOR THIS ISSUE AND YET MINE WAS NOT INCLUDED?????

CAR LOSS POWER AND STOP,AND I CHANGE BATTERY AND DREW 1 MILE ,AND I STOP FOR GAS ,I SHOW SMOKE COMING OUT OF ENGINE.
THE BATTERY AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHT COME ON. THE VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND DOESN'T DRIVE. THIS HAPPEN WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON CITY STREET AT 45 MILES PER HOUR I HAD TO PULL OVER AND GET IT TOWED HOME,
I'M UNABLE TO LOCK/UNLOCK ANY DOORS USING THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTONS IN THE CAR. THEY ONLY LOCK/UNLOCK MANUALLY. THE KEY MANUALLY LOCKS/UNLOCKS THE DRIVER DOOR ONLY. FOB DOESN'T WORK FOR ANY LOCKS, AND IT'S A NEW ONE.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE BATTERY LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. FEW MINUTES LATER IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE THEN STALLED OUT AND WOULDN'T START. AFTER GETTING A JUMP IT STARTED UP BUT WOULDN'T MOVE. I CAN GET THE ALTERNATOR BUT I'M STILL HAVING THE PROBLEM. DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. "TAKATA RECALL" NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V319000 I EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME ISSUE DESCRIBED IN THE CAMPAIGN NUMBER ABOVE. I CALLED THE PISCHKE MOTORS NISSAN IN LACROSSE WISCONSIN ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEY SIMPLY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL REGARDING THAT ISSUE. THEY SAID THAT MY MURANO WAS MADE AFTER THAT RECALL WAS ADDRESSED HOWEVER, AS MENTIONED, I'AM SEEING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS IN A PARKING LOT IN MOTION WHEN IT FAILED.
MY BACK DRIVER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK OR LOCK THIS MORNING. IT WAS WORKING FINE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. I TRIED TO UNLOCK FROM THE INSIDE AND APPEARS THAT THE LOCK BUTTON IS NOT WORKING AS IT SHOULD. I CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR AT ALL FROM OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. I ONLY USE THE KEY ITSELF AND UNLOCK OR LOCK DOORS WITH THE PANEL BUTTONS.

I WAS DRIVING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, WHEN THE CAR STALLED AND HESITATED. I SAW THE BATTERY LIGHT AND THE BRAKE LIGHT COME ON, SO I DROVE THE CAR SLOWLY DOWN THE STREET IN FRONT OF MY APARTMENT, AND PARKED IT THERE. I LATER READ THAT THIS WAS COMMON ON NISSAN MURANOS, MODEL YEARS 2003 THROUGH 2007, AND A RECALL CAMPAIGN, 05V319000 WAS STARTED.

THE INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM AND THE KEY FOB DO NOT UNLOCK THE DOORS CONSISTENTLY. THEY DO NOT UNLOCK THE DRIVER OR FRONT PASSENGER DOORS AT ALL, AND FROM TIME TO TIME WILL UNLOCK THE REAR DOORS. WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS FOR OVER A YEAR. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,239 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,151.

I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR TO A SPEED OF NO MORE THAN 5MPH. I PARK AND AFTER THAT MY CAR HAD TO BE TOW AWAY. I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT WHEN I'D USE MY KEYLESS ENTRY THAT THE DOORS WOULDN'T UNLOCK SO I REPLACED MY KEYLESS ENTRY ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT WASN'T IT USING THE PANEL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IF I UNLOCK/LOCK THE DOORS ONLY 1 DOOR ASIDE FROM THE DRIVERS WILL UNLOCK... MY TRUNK WILL UNLOCK SELECTIVELY AND WITH THIS MODEL THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO GET IN OUR OUT THE TRUNK ASIDE FROM THE TAIL GATE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO GET IT FIXED AND WHEN HIS RESPONSE IMMEDIATELY WAS "IT'S YOUR ACTUATORS, WE GET THESE ALL THE TIME WITH YOUR KIND OF CAR" IT STRUCK A NERVE WITH ME AND I DIDN'T GET IT DONE WHEN I FOUND OUT THE COST IS $400 PER DOOR THAT'S INCLUDING LABOR I THEN STARTED TO DO RESEARCH ON LINE AND I SEE FORUMS OF OVER A THOUSAND 05/06 MURANO OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE THAT IM HAVING SOME HAVE REPLACED THEM SOME HAVE COMPLAINED THERE WAS PETITIONS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE GOD FORBID SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T REALIZE THIS GETS IN AND LIKE MOST OF US LOCKS THERE DOORS BEHIND THEM ONLY TO REALIZE IT DIDN'T WITH SOMETHING AWFUL LIKE A BURGLARY OR SOMETHING... WHAT IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT AND THEY CANT GET TO THE VICTIM BECAUSE THE DOORS DON'T UNLOCK THESE ARE WORST CASE SCENARIOS BUT THIS SHOULD NOT BE COMMON. *TR
