2019 Nissan Pathfinder Power Train

Vehicle Transfer Case had complete failure at 25,800 miles of street/highway use. My family had to pull to the shoulder of [XXX] in Maryland due to uncertain loud noises. The issue was reported to local Nissan dealer (where I purchased this vehicle new) and scheduled for repairs. The service manager stated that the $5,357 failure was 'likely' due to low tire tread. The tires were factory original at 25,800 miles, had been rotated per service schedule and proper air pressure maintained. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 123,000.
