Airbag indicator is flashing. Dealer says it is showing B1054 Error. Says it is a Drivers airbag module open. Cost of repair will be several 100 dollars.
I purchased the vehicle from seventy 7 auto on mahoning avenue in Youngstown Ohio I was never told that the car didn’t have airbags it has a oil leak and bad catalytic converter after I took it back to the dealer they checked it and said it was good to go as I was leaving the dealer ship I was on the highway driving at the speed limit which is 60 mph then my vehicle did a hard jerk making interrupt the flow of traffic and proceeded to jerk until I was able to make it off the highway and it was never any lights on to tell me my engine oil was leaking or that the car didn’t have any airbags at all
The airbag stopped working. The mechanic said it stopped working because of water damage in the seat. Why doesn’t Nissan inform their consumers about the airbags? I wonder if other people are experiencing the same problem.
The contact’s daughter owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag sensor needed to be replaced however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The contact stated that the light came on intermittently at first but now it is on all the time. There is no recall on this issue so the contact would have to pay out of pocket for the repairs.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger’s side air bag sensor occupant classification system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
Air bag light stayed on and could not get an inspection without a rejection sticker. Retired and very costly to repair, but had to repair it. Cost : $2,700 I will gladly send you the invoice if required. Southern Nissan repaired our car. Thanks in advance for your help.
Passenger seat Occupant sensor has failed. Yes, available for inspection. This sensor communicates with the Airbag system. The front passenger airbag is disabled due to the fault. The problem has been reproduced, I have followed the process of resetting the DTC and 2 weeks later the DTC has returned. No inspection beyond owner. Vehicle producing DTC B1018 This relates to the occupant sensor which shuts off the airbag when the seat is occupied by a child or small enough adult. Nissan has had several recalls for this sensor in other models and years of this vehicle. Due to poor design the only repair is replacing the entire passenger seat at a cost of over $2000.
AT APPROXIMATELY 90,000 MILES THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG FAILURE WARNING LITES ACTIVATED. THE LITE IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND ON THE DASHBOARD IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER ARE BOTH INVOLVED. i AM TOLD BY THE DEALER (MARK) AT DAYTONA NISSAN, THAT THE CAR IS PROBABLY UNSAFE FOR PASSENGERS.. IN RESEARCHING I FIND THIS IS NOT A NEW PROBLEM, THAT IT HAS BEEN THE CASE FOR SOME YEARS, AND THIS HAPPENS TO PRACTICALLY ALL NISSAN ROGUES AND IS A DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT CALLS FOR SEAT REPLACEMENT TO THE TUNE OF 2 TO 3 GRAND. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME YEARS AND IS KNOWN TO THE MFG. THEY CHOOSE TO NOT FIX IT. HOW MANY HAVE TO DIE B4 YOU FOLKS TELL NISSAN TO RECALL.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the seat occupant classification module for the passenger’s side seat failed. The contact stated that in the event of a crash, the air bag would not deploy. The contact did not provide the dealer information. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the contact noticed that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with the passenger’s side seat needing to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was and informed that the VIN was not under recall. There was no further assistance provided. The failure mileage was approximately 16,109. The consumer stated noticed a safety issue because of the disabled flashing airbag warning light on the dashboard while driving at any speed. The vehicle was taken into a local Nissan dealer where it was diagnosed as a faulty OCS (Occupant classification sensor mat passenger seat bottom) which can cause the air bags to improperly deploy. The owner contacted Nissan and filed a complaint but they refused to provide any assistance, but instead said the owner was responsible for this failure which would entail replacing the entire passenger seat at a cost of almost $3,000.
2011 NISSAN ROUGE: THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT THAT INDICATES THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOT ACTIVE ILLUMINATES WITH AN ADULT SEATING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE RED AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD CLUSTER FLASHES. THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR STATES THAT THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH. THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR THIS BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. A WEB SEARCH WILL FIND MANY MANY NISSAN CARS WITH THIS PROBLEM. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HURT AND KILLED DUE TO NISSAN CARS FAILURE TO DEPLOY THE AIRBAG. THE CAR IS UNSELLABLE AND UNSAFE. THE GOVERMMENT SHOULD REQUIRE NISSAN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT COST TO THE CAR OWNER BEFORE MORE PEOPLE ARE HURT AND KILLED.

1 OWNER CAR. MILEAGE 80,000. AIR BAG LIGHTS CAME ON BY SEAT AND ON DASH EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING IN PASSENGER SEAT WHEN IGNITION IS ON. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD ENTIRE SEAT MUST BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE SENSOR AT A COST OF $3000. THIS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED BY MANY PEOPLE. THIS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THEY KEPT PUTTING THIS PART IN EVEN AFTER THEY STARTING FAILING IN 2008, 2009, 2010 MODELS. WE ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS TO WORK TO GET OUR CARS INSPECTED. THAT IS HALF THE VALUE OF THE CAR. THE ENTIRE SEAT MUST BE REPLACED??!!?? I DON'T KNOW IF THE BAG WILL DEPLOY OR NOT IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT. HOW LONG UNTIL THE OTHER ONE FAILS.
VEHICLE PASSEGER AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS DEFECTIVE, AFTER SPEAKING WITH MY MECHANIC, I WAS INFORMED IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, BUT THERE WAS CURRENTLY NO RECALL. THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WAS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SEAT TO THE TUNE OF $2500. NISSAN NEEDS TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE " KNOWN ISSUE".
THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS MADE ABOUT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEFECT IN THE 2011 NISSAN ROUGE. MY CAR FAILED THE STATE INSPECTION BECAUSE THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS BLINKING ON THE DASH BOARD. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AS NO ONE ELSE WAS ABLE TOO. NISSAN INFORMED ME THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE ONLY WAY TO REPLACE THE SENSOR IS TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AT A PRICE OF $2,000. IF THE SENSOR IS SO BURIED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THAT THE ENTIRE SEAT HAS TO BE REPLACED, THEN THAT IS A FACTORY DEFECT AND IS NISSAN'S RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX IT AT THEIR EXPENSE. YOU WOULD THINK THAT WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS AND THE FACT THAT THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD, NISSAN WOULD WANT TO RECALL AND HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED! OF COURSE, THEN THEY COULDN'T COLLECT $2,000 FOR EVERY SEAT REPLACED FOR THIS DEFECT. THE WARNING LIGHT JUST STARTED BLINKING ABOUT A MONTH AGO, BUT WHO KNOWS HOW LONG THE AIR BAG HAS BEEN DEFECTIVE , MAYBE THE LIGHT DOESN'T BLINK UNTIL IT IS CRITICAL BECAUSE THE AIR BAG BUTTON ALWAYS SHOWED THE AIR BAG AS OFF NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL THE PERSON SITTING IN THE SEAT WAS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND ATTENTION SHOULD BE PAID!
THE AIRBAG SENSOR WON'T SHUT OFF.
"TAKATA RECALL"MY 2011 NISSAN ROGUE AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED BLINKING WHILE DRIVING TO WORK IN MY LOCAL AREA. IT CONTINUES TO BLINK WHILE CAR IDLES AS WELL. I HAD IT LOOKED AT THAT AFTERNOON AT GARAGE. THEY SAID PROBLEM IN DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG NOT WORKING. CONFUSED AS THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE FACTORY INSTALLED AND YET I AS THE CONSUMER MUST MAINTAIN FAULTY SAFETY EQUIPMENT AS WELL AS DAILY MAINTENANCE TO THIS VEHICLE. JUST SPENT 2000.00 DOLLARS AT NISSAN GETTING ALL MAINTENANCE REQUIRED DONE.NOW THIS TOO.
THE AIRBAG ICON ON THE DASH IS BLINKING WHEN MOTOR IS RUNNING
I AM CURRENTLY DRIVING A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE. SEVERAL DAYS AGO MY AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. MIDDLETOWN NISSAN SAID THIS VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF A RECALL. I WAS ALSO TOLD THERE WERE NOT ANY NISSAN AIRBAG RECALLS. ACCORDING TO WHAT IRESEARCHED, THIS IS NOT TRUE. MY CONCERNS ARE MY SAFETY AND THE IDEA OF PAYING FOR A REPAIR THAT MAY BE PART OF A RECALL PLEASE ADVISE ME. THIS IS THE SIXTH NISSAN VEHICLE I HAVE DRIVEN:A VERY LOYAL CUSTOMER
THE AIRBAGS BLINKS WHILE DRIVING
BUMPED INTO A LARGE CURB ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HIT RIGHT AT THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR THAT IS WHEN THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO NISSAN DEALER TO BE CHECKED WAS JUST RESET THE FIRST TIME 4 DAYS LATER CAME BACK ON TOOK IT BACK WAS PUT THROUGH A DIAGNOSTIC SCREENING AGAIN WAS TOLD IT WAS SHOWING THE OCS UNIT WAS MALFUNCTIONING. TOLD ME THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WHICH WAS IN BOTTOM OF SEAT. MY QUESTION IS HOW COULD SOMETHING LIKE THAT GET DAMAGED IF IT IS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT WHEN HARDLY ANYONE EVER RIDES IN THAT SEAT. I WAS GOING 5 MILES PER HR. WHEN I HIT CURB.
ON MY WAY TO WORK A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AGO, MY AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN TO FLASH. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE IT WAS FLASHING BECAUSE MY WORK BAG WAS ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. I LATER TOOK THE BAG OFF AND PLACED IT ON THE FLOOR TO SEE IF IT WOULD GO AWAY BUT IT DID NOT. I ALSO HAD SOMEONE CHECK THE WIRE CONNECTIONS UNDER BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS TO MAKE SURE THAT THE WIRES WERE NOT LOOSE AND THEY ARE NOT. AT THIS POINT I AM NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO DO BECAUSE I CONTACTED NISSAN AND I'M NOT MAKING ANY PROGRESS. THE AIRBAG LIGHT CONSTANTLY FLASHES WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION.
I'VE NOTICED THAT EVEN AN ADULT PASSANGER IS SEATED ON THE FRONT PASSANGER SEAT, A YELLOW AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE CENTER CONSOLE, AND AT THE VERY SAME TIME, A RED WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH COMES ON,AND REMAINS ON. TOOK CAR TO UNIVERSAL CITY NISSAN, BUT THEY DID NOT SERVICE IT. THEY DID INDICATE THAT THE SENSOR IS FAULTY AND DOES NEED REPAIR. AND ESTIMATE$1200 TO REPAIR. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND, IT SEEMS A SAFTY MATTER, AND I BELIEVE IT SHOUL BE COVERED BY MY WARRANTY. PLEASE HELP ME FIND OUT WHY I HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND WORRIED IF THIS SAFETY DEVICE WILL NOT CAUSE INJURY, OR AND ACCIDENT,OR ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT. THE LIGHTS WERE RESET BY NISSAN, BUT AS I DROVE A BLOCK, THE LIGHT ACTIVATED WITH AN ADULT IN THE SEAT. I WANT NISSAN TO PUT IT IN WRITEING, IF THEY CAN REASURE ME THAT THIS IS NOT A SAFTY ISSUE. AND ASSURE ME THAT THERE IS NO DANGER OF AIRDAGS BEING DEFECTIVE. IF THERE IS A WARNING LIGHT, THEN THERE EXISTS A PROBLEM.
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND STAYED ON--WITHOUT ANYONE OR THING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. DEALER SAYS THAT MUST MEAN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DEACTIVATED. CONTACTED NISSAN--THEY SAY IT WILL COST $2100 TO FIX. THEY WANT US TO PAY $700 OF THAT--SINCE THE CAR IS 5 YEARS OLD. IT HAS 83,000 MILES ON IT. SINCE AIRBAGS ARE A FEDERALLY MANDATED SAFETY FEATURE, I WOULD THINK THAT NISSAN SHOULD PAY ALL OF THE COST OF THIS FIX.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR THAT DETERMINED PASSENGER WEIGHT WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,323.
