My check engine light came on in my 2018 Nissan Rogue. I took it to the Nissan dealership where I purchased the car on 6/12/23 my odometer had 35,370 miles at this time. Service technician found that check engine light was on due to codes: PO447;PO075; and code PO012. Per the service receipt I received after paying $5.023 these were the listed issues and repairs: Short in the Electronic Control Ignition Harness. The Electronic Control Ignition Harness and the Ignition Power Distribution Module needed to be replaced. This is a known recall issue with past models on this same issue, but 2018 Nissan Rogue Models have not been recalled even though the problem still exists, at least with my vehicle. Thankfully no injuries or damaged cause by this defect because I was proactive to get it fixed. Called Nissan Motors Consumer Affairs too!
When driving my dashboard lights light up randomly. A malfunction/warning popped up. My seatbelt light came on and I was wearing my seatbelt. Often times my trunk closes on its own and has hit my head. The car does not recognize the key. I have seen the dealership for this and they fixed it, but then the issue comes back.

The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
There is a problem with my engine room harness, and it is corroding. My car was not on the recall for an engine room cover. My wires are corroded. It has never been issued for a recall, and the Nissan repair shop has indicated this is a problem with the E27 sensor. This is the report from Nissan Repair: "Customer states that car runs rough and lights are on. I found that key will not turn on. Checked battery voltages, they are at 12.1 volts. Checked pin fit on all fuses that go to the battery. I found that connector e27 was very corroded. We will have to start with replace the fuseable link. While replacing, found that corrosion has made its way down through wires. Car now needs engine room harness." Therefore, this is not a normal wear and tear but a situation that the cover was not issued during the design of this vehicle. Please issue a recall for my vehicle so that I can continue to get where I need to safely and securely without stalling and without spending money out of my pocket for this issue.
First I lost heat only on the driver side and took it to get repaired. Less than a month later the driver side heat went back out and when I took it back to the dealership in Avon, Indiana I was told the manufacturers were not making the part currently, this was in November and December 2021 and I still have no heat.
Key gets stuck in ignition and have to wiggle to get it out
The trunk hatch sensor does not always detect when there is someone in the trunk. I have had multiple incidents where whether I use the fob or the manual button on the truck door it’s self it will open and then immediately start to close when I am standing underneath it. I have almost gotten pinned under the trunk door and had to quickly get out from underneath before it closed.
WHEN MY VEHICLE IS PARKED AND TURNED OFF I AM UNABLE TO LOCK OR UNLOCK IT USING THE POWER BUTTON ON THE DOORS' EXTERIOR. MY VEHICLE STARTED DOING THIS AFTER A VISIT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP (2551 THE NALLEY WAY, ATLANTA, GA 30360) FOR A SIMPLE OIL CHANGE. I TOOK IT BACK THE FOLLOWING DAY WHEN THE ISSUE BEGAN AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE AND THAT IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE OF MY FRONT-DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILING AND THAT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. FEELING DEFEATED AFTER TRYING TO REASON WITH MANAGEMENT THAT IT WAS NOT HAVING THIS ISSUE BEFORE THEY SERVICED MY VEHICLE, I DECIDED TO LEAVE IT ALONE. HOWEVER, RECENTLY MY NIECE AND I WERE OUT SHOPPING AND NOTICED THAT WE WERE BEING FOLLOWED BY A STRANGE ACTING MAN. WE TOOK OFF RUNNING TOWARD MY VEHICLE TRYING TO REACH SAFETY, BUT WHAT HAPPENS? THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILS AND I'M UNABLE TO ENTER MY OWN VEHICLE! OUR ONLY SAVING GRACE WAS THAT ANOTHER MAN IN THE PARKING LOT NOTICED THAT WE WERE TRYING TO FLEA FROM DANGER AND INTERVENED TO GET THE OTHER MAN AWAY FROM US. IT WAS TERRIFYING! I'M NOT SURE WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED TO MY NIECE AND I HAD HE NOT STEPPED IN AND I HATE TO EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. FAST FORWARD A FEW DAYS AND IT BEGINS TO RAIN FOR DAYS STRAIGHT AND I'M LEFT FIDDLING WITH MY KEYS TO OPEN MY DOOR, WHILE ALSO HOLDING A PURSE, BABY BAG, AND BABY ON MY HIP AND TRYING TO BALANCE AN UMBRELLA TO KEEP US DRY. IMAGINE THE SIGHT OF THAT. IT'S SO FRUSTRATING! AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE MY KEY BATTERY WAS DYING AND DECIDED TO GET THE BATTERY REPLACED BEFORE RETURNING TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THE BATTERY WAS NOT THE ISSUE. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURE AND BELIEVE IT TO BE A MANUFACTURING ERROR AND SAFETY HAZARD. I BOUGHT THE 2018 NISSAN ROGUE BECAUSE I LOVED MY 2017 ROGUE AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THE ISSUES THAT THIS NEWER MODEL HAS GIVEN ME. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!
MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT START THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS THE BATTERY HOWEVER IT KEEPS HAPPENING AND THEY WILL NOT CHECK THE ALTERNATOR. IF THE ALTERNATOR IS BAD MY BATTERY WILL NOT STAY CHARGED AND THEY SHOULD KNOW THAT AS A MECHANIC. FIRST TIME SIMPLY CHARGED MY BATTERY, SECOND TIME REPLACED MY BATTERY, THIRD TIME JUST LET MY CAR SIT FOR DAYS TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN SO I HAD TO PICK IT UP WITHOUT IT BEING RESOLVED. *TR
THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM, WHICH INCLUDES THE CAMERAS AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM RANDOMLY REBOOTS ITSELF. WHILE USING NAVIGATION THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WILL REBOOT ITSELF. SOMETIMES THE TOUCH SCREEN WILL FREEZE UP AND IT HAS TO BE MANUALLY REBOOTED. THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT HAS YOUR BACKUP CAMERAS AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM. (THE DATE, MILEAGE ON MY VEHICLE AND SPEED I WAS GOING WAS BASED ON THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE.) *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER A REBOOT REPAIR ON THE RADIO IN HIS VEHICLE, THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL REGARDING THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING RADAR SYSTEM THAT ACTIVATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE RADIO FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE BRAKING RADAR SYSTEM FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PETERS NISSAN OF NASHUA (S280 AMHERST ST, NASHUA, NH 03063, (603) 718-3851) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIO SYSTEM WAS THE MAIN HUB FOR THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS AND BACK UP CAMERA. THE RADIO HAD BEEN REPLACED THREE SEPERATE TIMES. BUT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS CONTINUED TO FAIL. THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR THREE WEEKS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE RADIO TURNING ON AT HIGH VOLUME. THE DEALER ADMITTED THAT THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS HAD MAJOR DEFECTS. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE FAILURES WORSENED WHEN THE REBOOTS WERE PERFORMED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
WHEN DRIVING THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING FEATURE WILL AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGE WITH NOTHING IN MY SOROUNDING CAUSING MY CAR TO GO TO A QUICK STOP ON THE HIGHWAY ETC. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW IN FEBRUARY.
NISSAN JUST RELEASED A CUSTOMER INITIATIVE LETTER PERTAINING TO THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM THAT STATES THE SYSTEM MAY ACTIVATE ON ITS OWN CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STOP SUDDENLY. NISSAN APPARENTLY HAS A FIX FOR IT BUT IT HAS TO HAPPEN FIRST. THIS SYSTEM ALREADY HAD A PROGRAM UPDATE APPLIED TO IT AND THE SYSTEM STILL DEACTIVATED ITSELF AFTER DRIVING. THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SYSTEM AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. *DT MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE THE CONTACT'S MOTHER-IN-LAW WAS DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND STOPPED MOVING ON ITS OWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH POHANKA NISSAN OF FREDERICKSBURG (5200 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, FREDERICKSBURG, VA 22408, 540-898-5200) AND WAS INFORMED TO DROP OFF THE VEHICLE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,700. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN A CONSUMER HAS ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY ISSUE OR SAFETY ISSUE SERVICED BY THEIR LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, IS NISSAN NORTH AMERICA REQUIRED TO REPORT THE ISSUE TO NHTSA? BECAUSE I'M CONFIDENT NISSAN KNOWS EXACTLY HOW MANY NAVIGATION SYSTEMS EXACTLY LIKE MINE THEY HAVE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW THAT NUMBER. BECAUSE IF I HAD SEEN THAT AMOUNT OF REPLACEMENTS WHILE I WAS STILL DOING NEW CAR REASEARCH IN JAN 2019, I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS BRAND NEW ROGUE SL PLATNUM INT. & BOSE PREMIUM SOUND PKG! ALREADY MY BRAND NEW ROGUE IS EXPERIENCING SEVERAL SERIOUS ISSUES. THE NAVIGATION/AUDIO SYSTEM SCREEN WITH NISSANCONNECT SERVICE JUST GOES BLACK. IT INTERMITTENTLY AND FOR NO APPARENT REASON REBOOTS BY ITSELF ON AND OFF - CONSTANTLY AFTER THE ROGUE HAS BEEN STARTED. IT FACTORY RESETS ITSELF AS MANY AS 25 TIMES IN A 10 MILE DRIVE. SEVERAL OF THOSE 25 REBOOTS MY RADIO WILL TURN ITSELF BACK ON AT AN EXTREMELY LOUD VOLUME, STARTLING ME WHILE I'M DRIVING. THAT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! THE BACK-UP CAMERA STILL WORKS MOST OF THE TIME, BUT NOT ALL THE TIME. I'M CURRENTLY WAITING A FULL 19 DAYS WHILE THIS REPLACEMENT PART IS ON BACKORDER FROM NISSAN. AND I'M DRIVING THE ROGUE WITH THE STARTLING, BLARING AUDIO IN THIS CONDITION THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WAIT. NISSAN NORTH AM WON'T APPROVE A LOANER THRU MY DEALER BECAUSE MY CAR IS STILL "DRIVABLE". DRIVABILITY AND SAFETY TO NISSAN ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. HOW MANY MORE OF THESE ROGUES WITH THIS PROBLEM ARE YOU KNOWINGLY PLANNING TO SELL TO UNWITTING CONSUMERS, NISSAN? MOST CONSUMERS DO NOT KNOW TO REPORT THIS TO NHTSA FOR THEMSELVES, SO IT IS GOING UNREPORTED. NISSAN CERTAINLY ISN'T REPORTING THE ISSUE! WHERE IS THE SERVICE BULLETIN? WHY ISN'T ANYONE SAYING, "YES, WE KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM."? WHAT IS THE SOLUTION? THERE ISN'T ONE. YOU KNOW WHY? NISSAN KNOWS PEOPLE DON'T WANT A CAR IF IT HAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NISSAN CITY (225 BOSTON POST RD, PORT CHESTER, NY 10573, (914) 937-1777) THREE SEPARATE TIMES, BUT WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANY FAILURES. ALSO, WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ADJUSTED, THE VEHICLE WOULD PERFORM THE OPPOSITE OF THE REQUESTED FUNCTION. WHEN THE HAZARD LIGHTS WERE ENGAGED, IT DISABLED THE SPEEDOMETER; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW THE SPEED BEING TRAVELED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. AFTER THE THIRD VISIT TO THE DEALER, THE MANUFACTURER LAUNCHED A NEW INVESTIGATION AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK WITH THE RESULTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500.
NAVIGATION SYSTEM SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. AFFECTED EVERYTHING ON SCREEN, RADIO, DIRECTIONS, ETC. ALSO DEACTIVATED THE BLIND SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM.
NISSAN CONNECT INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM RESETS ITSELF AFTER ABOUT 4 HOURS OF DRIVING. WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND SYSTEM JUST WENT BLANK, LOST ALL NAVIGATION, STEREO AND CONNECTIVITY WITH PHONE, VERY AGGRAVATING WHEN TRYING TO FOLLOW THE NAVIGATION. THIS HAPPENED TWICE ON A LONG HIGHWAY TRIP.
