The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH and exiting the highway, the vehicle decelerated and then lost motive power. The vehicle lost power steering and braking functionality; additionally, the instrument panel went blank. The contact pulled safely off the road and the vehicle would not restart. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts and drove back to his residence. The contact who is an independent mechanic, diagnosed the vehicle with a crankshaft position sensor code (P0335). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched the failure online and discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 07V527000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
Car has pick up issues. It has been issues when Stop at signal light and I afraid behind cars may hit me. When I did research on internet found many people complained for the same issue. TAKATA RECALL, VEHICLE HAS BEEN BURNING THROUGH A LOT OF MOTOR OIL AND THE OTHER DAY I NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE MOTOR AND I'M GOING THROUGH ABOUT 3 QUARTS OF MOTOR OIL IN ONE WEEK I AM AFRAID THAT THE MOTOR MAY CATCH ON FIRE. AS I WAS DRIVING MY FAMILY TO THE LAKE I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY THE ENGINE DIED AND THERE WAS A LOT OF SMOKE COMING OUT OF IT WHEN I INSPECTED IT AFTER IT WAS SAFE TO INSPECT I NOTICED THERE WAS ZERO OIL IN THE MOTOR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED INADVERTENTLY. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 245,000.
VEHICLE CONSUMES AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF OIL CREATING A HAZARD FOR BOTH VEHICLE OWNER OF POSSIBLE FIRE AND FOR SURROUNDING DRIVERS DUE TO THICK SMOKE CREATED. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF AND HAS A RECALL CAMPAIGN AVAILABLE IF YOU STILL ARE WITHIN WARRANTEE PERIOD, BUT NOT IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE THAT PERIOD EVEN THOUGH IT'S NO LESS A SAFETY ISSUE.
THIS SPECIFIC 2006 NISSAN SENTRA SE-R SPEC-V AS WELL AS THE 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA BOTH USE THE SAME QR25DE ENGINES WITCH THESE ENGINES ARE HIGHLY PRONE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AT RAPID RATES. MY VEHICLE HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE IT COMSUMES A QT OF OIL EVERY 150 MILES OR SO. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT CAN LEAD TO ENGINE FIRES BECAUSE OF A FAILURE TO COOL THE ENGINE WHILE IT IS ON. THIS CAN ALSO PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANTLY LARGE PLOOM OF GREY/BLUE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST BECAUSE OF LARGE AMOUNTS OF OIL BEING BURNED. THIS LARGE CLOUD OF EXHAUST ALMOST ACTS AS A SMOKE SCREEN TO DRIVERS BEHIND ME SOMETIMES BLOCKING VISION BECAUSE IT CAN BE SO LARGE, AS WELL AS ITS TOXIC IMPACTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT. IN CONCLUSION A FIRE HAZARD COUPLED WITH A LARGE TOXIC CLOUD IS A GROUND TO HAVE ALL NISSAN VEHICLES WITH THE QR25DE ENGINES WITH THE PRODUCTION YEARS OF 2006 AND BELOW TO BE RECALLED AS IT CAN BE POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS. THE TOP PART OF THE PHOTO IS PROOF AS IT WAS WRITTEN UP BY A VADEN NISSAN DEALERSHIP MECHANIC.

THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE NEAREST PARKING LOT, WHERE IT WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V527000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
ENGINE STOPPED WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE STILL MOVING BUT NO POWER. TRIED TO RESTART SEVERAL TIMES. AFTER 5 MINS IT STARTED, BUT THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN IN 1 MIN, THE CAR MOVED FEW BLOCKS ONLY AND ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN.
ON 2006 NISSAN SENTRA SE-R SPEC V, I NOTICED A DROP IN POWER AND EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. UPON PULLING THE HEADER I NOTICED PIECES OF THE CATALYST BROKEN UP IN THE EXHAUST PIPE. THE EGR SYSTEM MAY HAVE SUCKED IN PIECES OF DEBRIS DAMAGING THE CYLINDER WALLS.

WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE EXHAUST HEADER WAS REMOVED AND PIECES OF CATALYST DEBRIS IN THE EXHAUST PIPES CONNECTED TO THE ENGINE WERE DISCOVERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN NTB05-052A. I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA 1.8S AUGUST 26, 2006. THE SUMMER OF 2007 I STARTED EXPERIENCING THE "LONG ENGINE CRANK TIME BEFORE START" ISSUE, AND HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE EVERY SUMMER SINCE (BUT ONLY DURING THE SUMMER). I CURRENTLY HAVE APPROXIMATELY 54,000 MILES ON MY NISSAN AND JUST RECENTLY LEARNED ABOUT THE SERVICE BULLETIN THAT WAS PUT OUT SEPTEMBER 8, 2006. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS BULLETIN ADVISING ME OF WHAT TO DO, EVEN AFTER INQUIRES OF MY ISSUE AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. NISSAN NO LONGER SELLS THE REPAIR KIT (WHICH I'M LEARNING WASN'T A GUARANTEE FIX) AND I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO BUY A WHOLE NEW FUEL PUMP (THAT NISSAN HAS SUPPOSEDLY REDESIGNED). THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FUEL PUMP ITSELF, BUT RATHER A "FAULTY" PART INSIDE OF THE FUEL PUMP. NISSAN SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING "FAULTY" PARTS AND ALSO KEEPING THOSE PARTS AVAILABLE AS LONG AS THAT PARTICULAR YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL VEHICLE ARE ON THE ROAD.
MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA HAS DELAYED CRANKING WHEN TRYING TO START, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE. TRIED A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT MECHANICS BUT COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN APRIL 2006, AND STARTED HAVING PROBLEM SINCE 2009/2010 WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES, INCLUDING ALL BELTS NEEDING REPLACEMENT AT 15,000 MILES THAT DEALER CHARGED FOR NON-WARRANTY REPAIR. I WAS GOING BACK TO WORK AFTER EATING LUNCH DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH AND ENGINE JUST STALLED AND QUITE RUNNING, THIS HAPPENED IN A WORK ZONE WHERE THEY WERE REPAIRING ROAD. I TRIED TO START CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START, HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 10 MINUTES THEN CAR STARTED BUT WHEN I STARTED TO DRIVE, IT STALLED AGAIN AND DID IT TWICE UNTIL I GOT IT RUNNING LONG ENOUGH TO GET IT TO SHELL STATION. WHEN WE GOT IT TO THE MECHANIC SHOP THEY SAID IT WAS THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR AND THE CAM SENSOR THAT HAS FAILED. THEY TOLD US THAT NISSAN CARS ARE BAD ABOUT DOING THIS. I WAS IN A DANGEROUS SPOT WITH LOTS OF TRAFFIC AND ROAD CONSTRUCTION FOR THIS TO HAPPEN AND THERE COULD OF BEEN A BAD ACCIDENT OVER THIS BUT THANKFULLY THERE WAS NOT. ALSO ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR IS IT HAS DELAYED CRANKING WHEN TRYING TO START CAR IN SUMMERTIME WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO AND WAS NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS PEOPLE WERE HAVING WITH IT STALLING OUT LIKE THAT. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V527000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

A FEW WEEKS AGO MY CAR'S ENGINE STARTED DOING A STUTTERING THING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY. IT WOULD JUST DO IT OUT OF NO WHERE AND IT FELT LIKE THE ENGINE WAS ABOUT TO SHUT OFF BUT IT KEPT GOING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER AND IT SHOWS CRANK POSITION SENSOR. I SEARCHED FOR THIS ONLINE AND FOUND THIS WAS A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE YEAR, MODEL AND ENGINE TYPE. IT STATED THAT IT COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALING EXPECTING TO HAVE THIS FIXED UNDER THE RECALL BUT WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE'S VIN WAS NOT ON THE LIST OF AFFECTED VEHICLES AND IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. MY ENGINE IS STILL DOING THE STUTTER THING BECAUSE I HAVE NOT HAD IT FIXED YET AND THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT FIX IT UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE THEY SAY MY VEHICLE WAS NOT AFFECTED EVEN THOUGH IT OBVIOUSLY WAS AFFECTED. *TR

I HAVE AN 2006 NISSAN SENTRA AND I BOUGHT IT USED WITH 3000 MILES SON IT. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER THE BRAKES WOULD SQUEAK AND THE ENGINE WOULD MAKE TICKING SOUND. I TOOK IT IN TO SANTA MONICA NISSAN 5 TIMES AND THEN THE FINALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND FOR A 4 MONTH OLD CAR IT SHOULDN'T NEED BRAKES. THE BRAKES DON'T MAKE ANY NOISE BUT THE ENGINE STILL MAKES TICKING SOUND BUT NISSAN DOES THE SAME REMEDY EVERY TIME, CHANGE THE ENGINE BELTS. APPARENTLY THAT'S NOT WORKING AND WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE BUT I WAS ON HOLD FOR 1 HOUR AND THEN I HUNG UP. NISSAN NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS. REMEMBER THE BRAKES ARE FNE NOW ITS JUST THE ENGINE THAT MAKES TICKING SOUNDS. THEY BETER FIX THIS. *JB
