The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after multiple attempts with an unknown red warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact also stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle failed to restart, and the contact had the vehicle towed to her residence. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 11V579000 (Electrical System) which she linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that her vehicle was not under recall. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WAS FAULTY AND THE ECM WAS DAMAGED DUE TO THE DROP IN VOLTAGE CAUSED BUT THE FAULTY BATTERY TERMINAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V555000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
THE AC/HEATER STOPPED WORKING AFTER MAKING A LOUD NOISE WHEN IN USE. AFTER 4 DAYS OF HEARING THIS NOISE OFF AND ON, IT FINALLY WENT COMPLETELY OUT WITH FUMES. MY CD PLAYER ALSO STOPPED WORKING. I'VE HAD MY CAR 7 YRS., BOUGHT IT NEW, AND MAINTAINED UPKEEP. WHAT HAPPENED? NEED ANSWERS.

WHILE DRIVING APPROX 30 MPH THE AUTOMATIC WINDOWS AND LOCKS STOPPED WORKING. A FEW MONTHS LATER THE BATTERY DIED WHILE IN THE DRIVEWAY, AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY THE VOLTAGE SPIKE CAUSED THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE TO FAIL. THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE OWNER THAT THIS VEHICLE'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 80,767 MILES.

I HAVE A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA AND THE ECM HAS GONE OUT DUE TO A FACTORY DEFECT. THERE WAS A RECALL ON CERTAIN 2010 NISSAN SENTRAS, HOWEVER MY PARTICULAR VIN# WAS NOT INCLUDED AND THEREFORE NISSAN WILL NOT MAKE THE REPAIRS. NOT LONG AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR, I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE BATTERY. IT WOULDN'T START AT TIMES. I PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY, HOWEVER STILL HAD THE SAME ISSUES. I TOOK THE CAR TO A FEW MECHANICS AND THEY COULDN'T DETERMINE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. EVENTUALLY THE CAR JUST STOPPED. I DON'T REMEMBER THE EXACT DATE, BUT IT WAS AROUND 12.7.14. THANKFULLY, I WASN'T DRIVING AT THE MOMENT, HOWEVER LOOKING AT OTHER PEOPLE'S STORIES, THEIRS DID. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND THAT'S WHEN I WAS TOLD ABOUT THE ECM. AFTER DOING MY OWN RESEARCH, I SAW THE RECALL AND THE PEOPLE HAD THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING WITH MY CAR AND THEN THEIR ECM DIED. MECHANIC AND I FOUND A RECALL ON MY MAKE AND MODEL CAR. NISSAN DENIED THE RECALL THREE TIMES SAYING MY MODEL IS NOT AFFECTED. I DISAGREE AND THINK MY CAR SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS IT SHOWS EXACT SYMPTOMS AS RECALL. ITS VERY POSSIBLE THAT MAYBE MY MAKE AND MODEL IS JUST STARTING TO BE AFFECTED. I BOUGHT A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA S ON FRIDAY JULY, 2. IT HAD 47 MILES ON IT, 10 OF WHICH I PUT ON DURING A TEST DRIVE. ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, I DROPPED BY THE DEALERSHIP TO COMPLETE THE TRADE-IN, AND MY NEW CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED WHILE I WAS IN THE NISSAN PARKING LOT. AFTER WAITING AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 4 HOURS, I WAS SENT HOME WITH A RENTAL CAR. AFTER A FEW DAYS, THE DEALERSHIP ALERTED ME THAT THE MY ELECTRONIC COMPUTER UNIT FAILED. THEY REPLACED THE SYSTEM AND I GOT MY CAR BACK ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 14. AFTER HAVING THE NEW CAR IN MY POSSESSION FOR LESS THAN A WEEK, IT SUDDENLY STOPPED AGAIN, AND WOULD NOT START. I HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING THE ELECTRONIC COMPUTER UNIT TO FAIL. MY CAR NISSAN SENTRA 2010 BROKE DOWN ON PARKING LOT AT MY WORKPLACE (LACK OF ELECTRICITY) ON NOV 30, 2010. AT THAT TIME I WAS NOT AWARE ABOUT A RECALL FOR POSITIVE CABLE TO CAR'S BATTERY. WITH MY COLLEAGUES AT WORK WE TRIED TO USE JUMPING CABLES TO START THE ENGINE. AFTER UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS CAR WAS TOWED TO KENDRICK'S NISSAN IN LAFAYETTE INDIANA. THE NEXT DAY DEALER'S TECHNICAL ADVISER TOLD ME THAT ECM IS BROKEN AND IT LOOKS THAT I BURNED IT DURING RE-START ENGINE ATTEMPT USING WRONGLY (REVERSING) CABLES. HE ADDED THAT I BROKE A WARRANTY AND I HAVE TO PAY $871 FOR REPAIR. I BELIEVE THAT DIAGNOSIS IS NOT CORRECT AND THAT THE REASON FOR CAR STARTING PROBLEM WAS FAULTY CONNECTION CABLE WHICH COULD ALSO CAUSE SOME OTHER DAMAGES DURING A RE-START ATTEMPT. *TR
